They have decent cars in stock but the financing is sketchy and the staff members don't follow up. I ended up purchasing elsewhere.

*****UPDATE***** As you can see below, the manager reached out to me and asked me to contact someone named Victor about my visit. I called and was told that Victor was not in the office today, but that the GM (who is also his boss), Carlos, was sitting nearby. The person on the phone offered to allow me to speak to Carlos, and apparently, Carlos was not too happy about that. Not long after I accepted, I could hear the person on the phone pleading with Carlos to take the call, saying that he didn't know why I was calling (although I had shared that information with him), that I had mentioned their manager, and that he thought I should talk to him (meaning Carlos) since Victor was not there. Carlos grudgingly takes the call, irritation clearly detectable in his voice. He gives me a dry "How can I help you?" and I explained that I was asked by the manager to reach out regarding my review and my experience. I didn't feel he was really listening to me, and after telling him what happened, he offered a half-hearted apology and mumbled something about talking to his staff. However, with management behaving in this way, I don't think it is just the staff that needs 'talking to'. I've had a collective 20 minutes worth of experience with this dealership and have been treated with an unfathomable degree of discourtesy. This experience is just another indication that this kind of rude and nasty behavior is not an isolated occurrence at this location. While I appreciate the manager trying to make things right, I can assure you that after these two experiences, I will not be doing any business with this dealership. *****END UPDATE***** I could not believe how rude the staff was. I visited early in the evening, when there were no other customers present, and you'd think that I'd crashed their party or something. Some of the staff sitting at the counter looked visibly annoyed that I was there and everyone lacked enthusiasm. No "Welcome to Fitzgerald" or anything. Just a dry "Can we help you?". They stuck me with some guy named Axel. I showed him a list of the things I wanted in a vehicle and he did a half-assed search to find something that met my specifications. I'm glad he didn't find anything, because I would have hated to give these rude people my money. No wonder they weren't busy, treating potential customers that way. This must be the last racist dealer south of the Mason Dixon. I'm black with excellent credit and a substantial down payment and they would not negotiate the sale of a $12,999 car with $6,000 down, and because of the crazy math they use, I owed them $10,000 on an uninspected (unknown to me) car. I drive the car home and it did NOT have shocks. The car was inspected by the dealership. I would get all of my vehicles inspected here had I known about dumb the inspectors. I am incredibly disappointed in this "dealership" and the way they operate. I test drove a vehicle they stated had passed Maryland's State Inspection two days prior. After test driving the vehicle and feeling a pull, I checked the brake fluid level and it was low because one of the calipers was very clearly leaking. I asked the sales rep if he would have let me drive off the lot in this vehicle had I not noticed the immediate safety concern, and he shrugged. I came upon Fitzgerald last week by accident and I am glad that I did. I met wonderful salesman named Paul Cohen. He is friendly, knowledgeable and was very patient with me as I tried various cars. Paul was a great and could tell me anything I needed to know about my new car and even my rental. He even stayed late for me as I work until 6 or 6:30pm. Paul helped me find a car that was perfect for me and is willing to help me if I have problems down the road. I definitely recommend having Paul Cohen as your salesman, especially if you are a woman. He is not sexist or aggressive.I can't say enough good this about him. Paul helped me get a great deal on my car. It is more important to him that the customer be happy with their new car. He even cleaned my car while I was doing the financing and helped me deal with my rental car after I bought the car. He emailed me to say "Stop by any time and I should be able to answer any questions." If you are trying to find this store, it is within a very short from the exit ramp from 270N's Middlebrook West Exit. You turn right about half a block after the ramp before you get to Warring Station (there is a right turn lane) and drive up a hill. Fitzgerald is the first dealership on the right. If you go to Criswell, you've gone to far. I say this because I almost missed it a few times while test driving the cars. I saw plenty of different cars in their lot. Toyotas, BMWs, Hondas, Suburus, etc. of varying ages and mileage. They have handy man specials and cars that are old but in great condition. If you are a mechanic, there are some good deals up there. read more

Terrible dealership. Bought a truck there and it took them 5 months to get a part in to fix. Then it was still the wrong part. The tech looked at the brakes because it didn't stop well, had to put all new brakes because the sliders and pins were frozen and needed a new wheel bearing. The dealership won't cover the brakes or bearing. Truck was not serviced when i bought it. Communication was practically nonexistent. Chris Collins the sales manager took way too long to get answers I was looking for. Look elsewhere when looking at any Fitzgerald dealerships. read more

The Dealership That Makes You Do All The Work We've been car shopping for nearly 2 months and have learned a bit about dealers.Fitzgerald is on the very lowest tier, and that is based on the sales experience, not the negotiation or post-sales service. We had a number of questions about a prospective used car, questions such as 'could we see the carfax' and 'what was the maintenance record on the car when it first came into the dealership'. In both cases, the salesman didn't return emailed questions and only provided a carcheck report which said the car had zero on the odometer (the car actually had 21,000). When I complained to the manager, he said that the only way I could get this information was to stop into the dealership, when I had been in their dealership asking for the same information the previous day (after traveling to get there for 45 minutes). They provide zero information and lackluster follow-up. If you have any need to know what you're buying, shop elsewhere. read more

Came here last week to check out some vehicles. My girlfriend was rear ended badly and her car was totaled. Fitzgerald was one of the many dealerships we visited on our hunt for a new car. We didn't end up buying a car here because my girlfriend is VERY specific on what she wants but we checked out a bunch of cars. Fitzgerald had a ton of options, many different makes and models. All the cars looked clean and were in great condition. Prices were fair. This dealer doesn't haggle on price, they list their best price and if you want it you buy it, similar to Carmax. I appreciate that sales model as it makes buying a car a little less stressful, takes the negotiation game off the table. The sales manager John Burroughs is very friendly, knowledgeable, and fair. Mr. Burroughs has been in the industry for a long time and has a reputation for being trustworthy and helping his customers find the right choice for them. He isn't pushy and seems more interested in ensuring his clients buy exactly what they want. After visiting many dealerships after Fitzgerald with no luck we will probably go back and visit John this week because we appreciate his conduct and the quality of his fleet. read more

Came in a week ago to look into buying my first car, I was helped by Gill Budd. Gill did a wonderful job showing me all the Rav4's they had in stock and did a wonderful job showing me all the great features of the car and answered any question my father or I had. The car i was looking to buy sadly was sold but Gill was able to find a car with the exact color similar miles and great price. I never felt pressured to buy, Gill did a great job at just being knowledgeable of everything and was very helpful through out my first car buying experience. The employees were very down to earth and kind. There was no BS salesman speech and they made sure to cater to our every need. Shout out to Nery Fuentes who helped us buy our car! He was very patient, knowledgeable, and went out of his way for any request. Another shout out to the General Manager, Faruk, who also came over a couple times to help and see if we needed anything like coffee or just friendly chitchat. This place welcomed us in like family and treated us with respect and that is a very big deal to us! I went to a number of new car dealers wanting to trade in my car for a larger vehicle. Even at the dealership where I originally purchased my car I was offered a trade in value well below market. At Fitzgerald's I was offered a good price for my car and they had a 2011 Sienna, which is what I was looking for, listed for a very reasonable price. I was immediately much better off financially than anywhere else I had been, even after lots of bargaining. The staff was very knowledgeable, but low key and respectful. All my questions were answered thoroughly. One question couldn't be answered without checking out a Sienna at their other location. Kenny Booth went right away to get me the information I needed even though it was very late in the evening. The paperwork, which I have found torturous with purchases at other dealerships, was smooth and quick. And to top it off the building is LEED certified with solar panels and lovely bathrooms. read more

I had a terrible experience at this dealership and I will be making a complaint with the BBB. They sold me a car that had 3 mechanical issues within 4 days. I had to go back to the dealership and make a separate trip to their service shop in Gaithersburg. Then when I went fro inspection on the 6th day of purchasing the car, it could not pass inspection! I returned the car that same day and they tried to intimidate me into keeping it by saying that it was pass the 5-day return period. They eventually took it back. Additionally, they failed to cancel my loan with the financing company. I received a bill and when I called the financing company, they informed me that they had already sent a check to the dealership, would make a note on my account, but that I was still responsible for the statement I received until the dealership notifies them. They also informed me that a non-payment would result in them reporting it to the credit bureaus. It's been 4 days and they have yet to cancel the loan, despite calling them 3 times. I am appalled by their deceitful behavior, malicious intentions, and utter lack of customer service. If anyone knows how to directly contact Mr. Fitzgerald, the founder of this company, please post it. read more
