Fitzgerald's Pub is a pub I frequent for the sake of distance -- it's just a few steps away from Baruch. The service here has been going downhill, and I'm ready to call it quits on this one. Surprisingly, there used to be a FRIENDLY Irish man working here, but now the current staff is very disgruntled and extremely sassy. From the moment you sit down, you're instantly hounded by a rude waiter who has no regard for time. If you need a few minutes to decide, you're already in trouble. Why would you not give me some breathing room to decide what to order? I'm often met with dirty looks just for this reason. Weird. The drinks on their happy hour menu are often watered-down. Ordered Cabernet, a Cosmo, and a Long Island Iced Tea from this place, all watered-down. The Blue Long Island is probably the only drink that tasted acceptable. The staff also mutters insults under their breath if they don't like a customer. So beware. An old friend of mine and I met up for shots a few weeks ago. Spent around $200 and were kicked out after a while. Didn't feel like arguing and killing my buzz, but getting kicked out is normal here. Another instance, my friend and I (after paying for our drinks) got kicked out for having a conversation for too long. Since when is 20 minutes a long time? Sounds pretty standard to me. Reason being was that they wanted to make more room for a nonexistent party of INVISIBLE. So we left, but checked the place out again to see our table, and it was empty, just as we left it. Don't bother complaining about customer service to anyone, especially the older guys. They are very set in their ways in that they won't listen to a differing opinion. The moment I expressed my opinion on an incident that happened the last time I was at Fitz, which was a couple of months ago, I was told to "move on and get over it". I've been coming to Fitzgerald's the last few years to visit my sister while she is not working. She goes to Baruch College during the day and works at Gallagher's 2000 Gentleman's Club in the evening to pay for her education. Fitzgerald's is very close to her dormitory so its quite convenient for her and I to meet here for a meal and a few casual drinks before she has to go to work. The night time bartender, Keen, is awesome. He always has my regular drink ready for me when I walk through the door. I love drinking Budweiser Light from a wine glass. My sister usually has 3 or 4 pints of House Vodka so she can get loosened up for work. I always get the burger with fries and my sister gets the buffalo wings. She sucks the meat clean off the bone. Both dishes are delicious. I always found it very cool of Keen never to complain that my sister shows up to the bar wearing her work attire. Sometimes my sisters co-workers show up and they start to bully the Juke Box with songs they would normally listen to at work. They start dancing and everyone just has the best time. Make sure to ask Keen to make you a shot of martini. He is has a magical touch in preparing high class complex beverages. read more

I have to say, it's rather surprising that this was my first visit to Fitzgerald's Pub (hint: look at my last name's initial) in the nearly 4 years I've lived in NYC! After wrapping up at the Yelp Snow Ball, Shea D., my girlfriend, and I decided we weren't quite ready to head home yet. Knowing 3rd Ave wouldn't let us down, we moseyed on over and found Fitzgeralds! The happy hour had some pretty good specials so we jumped on it. The pub itself isn't very big, but is cozy. We were able to secure a 2-person table which we creatively (stole someone's chair that was being used as a bag holder) made into a 3-top. Our waiter came by before we were even seated and took our orders. 1 Smitchwicks and 2 Sam Adams Winters, please! An order of mozzarella sticks later and we were set. Usually cheesey sticky deliciousness only comes in "why don't you just starve me" quantities, but not here! Oh no! We could barely finish them between the three of us! This bar is all around great. For starters let's talk about the patrons, I recently started going during the most recent NYC shut down because they have a patio with heaters. Day One, I was accepted by the regulars and the bartender Derman (I hope I spelled that right). These people took me in to their circle and truly made me feel at home. Gay friendly and overall accepting of just about anyone. On to the service itself. BEST ever. Truly cool bartenders. Food, I have had the Chicken Pot Pie, will get again, Chicken Fingers, claimed to be the best food item here due to the batter and dipping sauce, the burger, solid choice and finally Fish & Chips, my personal favorite. Yo for real tho, this place has a revolving door of staff. I don't know who runs this dump but they clearly haven't a clue what they are doing, there is a new bartender in there every time I walk by. It must be a pretty shitty place to work seeing as they can't hold on to staff, very badly ran and mismanaged. The decor is old and dingy and reminds me of a bar you would see in the 60's. Very limited menu of cheaply sourced frozen products. Extremely overpriced for the area. Flat beer from the taps, just an all around bad experience the two times I've been in there, will not be returning again that's for sure. Murray Hill is a great neighborhood with plenty of great bars and restaurants to go to, but I would avoid this one at all costs. read more

Had a horrible experience with the bartender last night 11/17 (kevin? honestly not relevant enough to remember his name as he's a raging sexist.) i asked if i could play a song and he said in response "you're all so pretty but you're acting like little bitches right now." when i called him out on it, he gave me $2 for the jukebox and apologized, but then proceeded to tell me "not to cry" about his comment. should immediately be fired - btw @ the manager, he called you an asshole read more

Hit or miss pub usually due to the wishy-washiness of the bartenders. Sometimes I get great service, and other times, I feel like I'm getting super negative vibes. Have been kicked out once before after coming here with a friend of mine. I was contemplating what drink to get and so I decided on water while I actually came up with a drink order. warning this is a cop bar the owners are cops...many of the frequenters are cops...during the school year the cops use this place to gather info on the nefarious activities the locals and baruch students are doing. if you are one of those people who are doing nefarious activities (or you just do not want to support/frequent a cop bar) do not come here also the food is bad and the beer is flat read more

If you go to Baruch, you gotta go to this place. It's so close to school, you can go during a break. It's nice to sit at the bar and talk to the bartenders a little bit. However, when it gets busy, I try to avoid it. I like the happy hour, especially since it goes till 8. Food is average, but gets the job done. read more

I love coming here to get shots Jagger and pints of beer. It's a really chilled out sports bar with very courteous bartenders and no in-your-face bouncers. I wish there were more places like this in the city! read more
