I've always liked Five Guys, but my last few experiences in random cities while traveling have not been good. This location gets it right, and the quality is where it should be. One of the best burger joints in the country. They are all consistently good too across all stores that I have ever been in. The "small" burger is fine for me unless I am famished, then the double does the job! You can order everything on the topping list for no extra charge and get a burger that you will need three hands to hold. I love the sautéed mushrooms as a topping... They have great fries too. Fresh cut potatoes appears to be the secret. If you order a large fry, you usually get about 50% more than will fit. That's a LOT of fries to start with and they simply toss extras into the sack... TIP: How to make the BEST HASH BROWN ON THE PLANET. Buy extra fries, or just go easy eating a large, chill them in the fridge back home, ...next morning chop them into 1/4 inch pieces, toss in a frying pan and cook till crispy. I like mine crispy, very crispy. You probably need no oil since they are already "oiled", but if you do, add some olive oil to your liking. A large serving will make two heaping servings to go with some eggs, etc. You can probably serve 4 people with them, but you may start a fight so maybe buying extra is a good idea. Occasionally as I pass the place, I stop and just buy some fries for hash browns... The peanuts are a nice touch - all you want while you wait. I have yet to walk into this place and not feel like someone who is welcomed and wanted. It means so much to me that there are people here who can see me as another human being and not just as another "customer." I like that I can choose to put 20 toppings on my burger if I want. And their cajun fries are awesome. This is a great place for burgers. I'd say one regular-size order of fries is enough for two people. Sure, regular is supposed to be one cup-full, but after they put that cup-full in your bag, they always dump another scoop on top. We were served the second we walked in the door. The cashier made a few great recommendations Five guys is about like firing up your own grill, fashioning patties, and then cutting up all your own toppings. Everything was fresh and tasted great. May be the best burger I have ever had. Other reviewers are NOT kidding about the fries. A large fry is enough for two, MAYBE three people. The staff at this location are a group of really clean cut looking friendly people who understand good customer service. The restroom and restaurant were spotless. Will be back. I've eaten at several Five Guys and all have provided consistent food and service. Their burgers are good with numerous toppings available. I prefer mine with cheese, mayo, grilled onions, grilled jalapeños and grilled mushrooms. But the highlight of the trip is the French fries. Made fresh and hand cut, they are simply delicious. Beware though: the large order is huge and can serve two or three people. If you want a burger and fries this is the place to go in Anderson. read more

Not too much to say about this location. The bacon cheeseburger was really good, and the cashier was extremely friendly. The searing area seemed pretty cramped to get around while full, but there is outdoor seating to mitigate that a bit. read more

If you want a burger like the one my mom used to make, this is where to get it. It's about as un-fast food of a burger that you can get. I do warn you on the fries though, only get one and share it. Otherwise you'll gain 10 lbs because there so darn good you'll eat the 2 lbs worth that they give you! The reasons why I don't give them 5 stars are: boring el-cheapo furniture and a bit high on the price unless you consider you get 2000 caleries for $10 to be a deal. read more

I was meeting a friend at Five Guys and got here a bit early, so I decided to get a drink while I waited. When I took my card out to pay, the young lady at the register told me not to worry about it. I appreciated that a lot, and it went to show the great care the staff here has for their customers. The restaurant is clean, organized and well-stocked. I've had other five guys before but I'd have to say the service in Anderson even on a Sunday afternoon with the church crowd was pretty quick and the burgers were the way we wanted them and delicious. They never seem to disappoint. I like to get a mix of toppings and don't forget the fries, made out of fresh cut potatoes - I'd eat my wife's order too if she let me. Any five guys always seems to be consistent so you know what you are going to get and get what you expect. read more

On Thursday afternoon at about 2:30 I went into the 5 Guys on Clemson Blvd in Anderson. There were about a half dozen tables occupied but no one waiting at counter so I went to the register to order. Placed an order for 2 - two patty bacon cheese burgers for a cost of $19.24 I dropped the change plus a dollar bill into the tip jar. Not even a Thank You. I looked back at the grill and there were 2 fresh red beef patties on there and 2 old shrunken patties pushed off to the side. I continued to watch the grill person while they reached over to add cheese to the old patties. The register person had disappeared so I said to the grill person "Whats going on? I ordered 2 double patty burgers and you only put 2 on the grill instead of 4. I'm not paying $20 for old food". She mumbled something I couldn't hear then begrudgingly put the other 2 fresh patties on. From that moment on it was like I was the bad guy in the place, employees giving me dirty looks because I called them out on their little game. It wasn't me trying to push old food off onto a paying customer. I'm going to be going somewhere else for my burger fix from now on. If you go here I suggest you watch your food from beginning to end to ensure they don't pull the same switch on you. read more
