The best thing to me about 5 Guys is the people working there. It reminds me of something you might have experienced at Coney Island in the 50s for some reason. When you walk in everything is very simple - bags of potatoes they are using that day to make your fries, a menu board that features cheeseburgers and a couple of sandwiches, simple, solid colors, and a pretty warm and friendly greeting by the people taking orders. I went with a simple cheeseburger (the small version actually, which is pretty much the size of a regular burger - their regular is quite large) and fries. Each burger is customized with your choice of toppings as you order, which is pretty neat as you don't have to request additions or have things left off as you do with plenty of other burger places. And after you order you get to watch them make your burger in their open kitchen area, an act that fascinated Ephraim to no end. The burgers and fries were really good, but nothing like made me think, "Oh. Em. Gee. I'll never eat burgers from anywhere else ever again!" Since 5 Guys is so far away from me I'll probably stick to eating my Smashburgers or burgers from local restaurants, but if I was near a 5 Guys I also wouldn't hesitate to eat there again. One extra note: for fries you can get them 5 Guys style or Cajun style. Cajun style is really quite salty and only a little spicy. As good as it gets when it comes to burger! The beauty is in its simplicity! Its just a burger and its done well, fresh hand formed patty's thrown on the grill as you order it and cooked well done, don't know if you can specify and different temp. All toppings are free with the exception of bacon, they have the regular variety of burger fixins one thing I really like was Fried onions & Sauted rooms are FREE! The fries are fresh hand cut nothing special nothing fancy but man are they good, they have regular and Cajun a large order is 3.99 and is enough for up to 4 people. There is a box of peanuts right when you walk in the door and on the counter you order from, crack them and throw the shells on the floor! A fun thing to do with the kids especially when they don't realize that its ok to throw them on the floor! The burger come in Famous (2 Patties) or Little (1 Patty) I am assuming 1/2 pound and 1/4 pound. The Famous Bacon Cheese was 5.49. So its in line with some other burger joints in town. There are really no frills the burger comes wrapped in plain white paper and served in a plain brown bag. This is corporate franchise but the do things right and their goodness comes from taking something simple like a burger use fresh ingredients and do it right! Its simple the wrappers are plain but the burgers and fries are top notch. One thing they really don't have a kid menu with the exception of a hot dog so if your kids are lite eaters get 1 little burger to split between them. read more

I've eaten at a lot of burger joints, so I was excited to try a new one -my sister, who lives on the east coast, recommended Five Guys. Luckily, she's my sister, so I'm still speaking to her after that recommendation. They have a very limited menu and, unfortunately, do not offer any onion rings! I need my precious rings!! So, that was a big negative for them. They did have fries, which were just ok. Nothing special and pretty salty. The burger itself was also nothing special. It was the kind of burger that you would get at a diner somewhere. I found the burger toppings to be limited, compared to other burger joints. Also, I really, really wanted a shake to go with my burger and they didn't have any. They really need to expand their menu options. There wasn't really a decor that I could pinpoint - it reminded my husband of a Gunther Toody's that is under construction. I also felt that the tables were on top of each other. It was kinda like you were eating with the people next to you. Somehow felt like a food court in a mall. I've been hyping Five Guys to my friends for a really long time now. See, I used to date a guy who lived in DC, and the first thing I would make him do after picking me up at the train station was drive us to a 5 Guys for some hot greasy juice burgers and cajun fries. After we split up I may have actually lamented the loss of my 5 Guys fix more than him (sorry Seth!) So imagine my DELIGHT when I moved here and discovered there was one nearby. We rushed right over for dinner after work. When we got there I was a little confused, was this a Five Guys or an In n Out? What's with the red and white checkered tile? Identity crisis much? At least they still have the boxes of peanuts and build it yourself menu concept! So we saunter up to the counter and place our orders nothing terribly complicated. We grab some nuts and our drinks and sit down. Burgers come aaaaand, they've gotten mine wrong, nothing serious, but they've left off the onions. I'm not huge on complaining over something this small so I just shrug it off and we finish and go. The burgers are tasty but really nothing even close to the ones I have become used to from the DC Five Guys. A few weeks later we decide to give it another go. We order, sit and wait... They are a little busier this time so it takes a while, we get our burgers and.... wrong again. This time they've gotten both of them wrong. They've put my sauce selections on my boyfriends burger and his produce and sauce on mine. *sigh* we swap it around as best we can and just leave. It's still a pretty tasty burger but this is two strikes for the service now. We'll go back one more time and see if they can get it right. If they can, this will be a three star review. It seems Five Guys out of the DC area just are not up to par, still an ok burger, just not the amazing beefy heaven they are there. Real meaty burgers at price that puts the drive-thrus to shame. I mean these are hefty burgers (I wouldn't dare to call them patties). These are the kind you would make on the grill, but never can get consistently right. The beauty of the Five Guys burgers are that they are fully cooked but still juicy. I stuck with lettuce, pickle, onion, cheese, ketchup, and mustard, but there are additional toppings. But who can go wrong with the traditional toppings? It's a pretty limited menu, but when you do something as well as they do burgers, why offer too many bells and whistles. For the fries, wow, they are crispy on the outside and that elusive creamy on the inside that you generally only get with home-made fries. When I get a combo at a fast-food restaurant, I am apt to only eat a few of my fries, give a few to the dogs (yeah, I know, sue me), and the rest go to waste. The fries at Five Guys barely made it home. And I went fishing for the stragglers at the bottom of the bag. I did douse them with some malt vinegar which really complimented the starchy, salty, creamy, crunchy goodness. The Parker Road location is still relatively new, so there is a wait, but while you sit around, there are plenty of peanuts in the shell to munch upon. Atmosphere? Not much, but what would you expect for a place with bags of spuds piled by the cash registers and peanut shells over the floor. When it comes to a no-fuss burger, this is the place. read more

Good. God. My gentleman friend who is from D.C. kept on talking about how awesome this place was, so we took a little trip down so I could try it out. Well first of all, he failed to remind me how BIG the servings of food was. He did warn me that a regular cheeseburger was actually 2 patties, and a little cheeseburger was 1 (and we wonder why America has an obesity problem...) and then I ordered a large fries for the two of us, which could have easily fed a family of four. Besides the huge portions of food, this place served up some high quality burgers. Very juicy and fresh. The fries are hand-cut and crispy..very tasty! It's not nearly as good as IN-N Out (but nothing really is in my mind) but still a good place to get a decent burger. The reason I give it 3 stars is it is way too overpriced for being a fast food joint. You can't order a combo here-it's a la carte for everything but at least the toppings (w/the exception of bacon) are free. Oh, and they also serve up free peanuts, but don't throw your shells on the floor unless you want people staring at you oddly. Yep, I'm bumping them up to 5 full stars. Why? Because its one of a very select few places that I feel like i get my money's worth every. single. time. Especially when I found out you can get extra cheese on your burger FO FREE which really just takes it to another level. They also finally offer a "little" fry which is good, because I could only eat about half of a regular and felt like I was always wasting food. Things you must know about Five Guys: 1. Large Clean dining area and packed during lunch 2. Burgers are pricey for fast food, but also thick and juicy. 3. Regular burger comes with 2 patties while small one comes with one. Small burgers is the way to go if your not gigantic. 4. Small fries fill a brown lunch bag half way up and large fries fill a brown bag all the way up. Small is for 2 people and large should be split between 5. Their cajun fries are better then there regular fires. All fries are made to order from real potatos. 6. Any normal topping on a burger such as lettuce, tomato, mushrooms, etc you can get for free on the burger of your choice. 7. Average meal with fries will run you from $7-$11. 8. I am almost sickened by the amount of food they give you at this place for lunch. No wonder people have heart attacks. 9. These are some of the freshest, home-made tasting burgers and fries I have ever tasted. Theoretically that is all that should need to be said. But being the verbose person that I have a tendency to be I will expound on... I tried one of the regular size cheeseburgers w/ tomatoes, lettuce, pickles and mayo. I also ordered a small (?) fries. This was the biggest small I have ever seen, and they tasted like potatoes - actual potatoes! They even state on the wall where the batch of potatoes originated from - and I have to say Spinner, Idaho grows some tasty spuds. I think next time I will either get a small burger with fries or a regular size by itself because getting a reg w/ fries is amazingly more than this hearty appetite can handle. read more

This place is great! There are clippings from magazines, newspapers, etc all over the walls, many from the south and the east. Being from NC, I was surprised I'd never heard of it after seeing all the wall decor. Well, I'm glad I've heard of it now. The burgers and fries are delicious. You choose your toppings and you get it how you like it. The burgers are cooked perfectly. Well done, but still juicy and tasty. The fries are good too. Not your fast food type fry. These have the skins still on the outsides, but aren't too thick. They have just the right amount of crisp to go with the potato inside. The portions are pretty big. A regular order of fries can feed at least two people. And the burgers come with two patties unless you order the "little burger," which comes with one. The employees here were all nice and seemed to enjoy their jobs, even on a busy evening. While you wait for your food you get to munch on peanuts. Can't go wrong there. The wonderful part about chains is that you know that what you're going to get will at least be serviceable, if your perspective is set right. So it's always a nice surprise to chow down on a burger and fries and it's absolutely delicious. The Ladyfriend and I, plus the Ladyfriend's Parents stopped into Five Guys for lunch. For the ladyfriend and I it was our first time. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with everything but tomatoes. They still put tomatoes on it (but honestly, it's easy to pick those off so I don't care too much when that sort of thing happens.) The burger was moist, jucy, flavorful, absolutely delicious for a fast-food burger. It had mushrooms, mayo, lettuce, pickles, onions mushrooms and bacon. Now, a lot of places will simply heat bacon up before they put it on your burger. These guys did it right. They actually COOKED it, so it was crispy. That's like an automatic A+ just because so many other places fail to carry out that crucial step. So, warm juicy tasty with good veggies. It was a friggin' mess too, so that made it even better. Top that off with some really great handcut fries, cooked to perfection and salted just the right way? Absolutely awesome place for lunch. The only thing missing was some vinegar for the fries, honestly. Everyone else dug their burgers, even the ones at the table who aren't all that big into burgers. Service is fine. It's fast casual, really. It took several minutes to get our food, but with that exercise in patience comes the knowledge and security that your burger was literally JUST hand-formed and tossed on the grill. No microwaves or any of that stuff. And with a big open kitchen it's easy to sit back and get lost in the dance of delicious cheeseburgers all over the place :-) If you love a good unhealthy burger and don't have crazy expectations of what a burger should be, check this place out. Not the best burger. With the red and white decor and minimalist menu, I thought I was at In-n-out Burger. I was hopeful. This is no In-n-Out. A wannabe, sure. Best burger, no way. I had the small burger - upon the advice of the cashier, who while helpful, was not quite accurate in his description of size. The burger, small and overcooked, simply did not have enough flavor to compete with the oversized, gummy, bland bun. While the toppings were generous, they couldn't help this puny burger begin to satisfy my need for a good burger. The fries were real potatos, but also really lacking in flavor - though they offer two types of seasoned fries (which I avoid due to an MSG allergy), a little undercooked. There were a whole bunch of fries, but I just couldn't bring myself to finish them. So far, in Denver, my only solid recommendations for a good burger are SmashBurger and CheezBurger CheezBurger. Decided to check this out since it's in my neighborhood and I have to say, not bad. The burger was good, but I didn't realize that it was going to be that small (I should've opted for the larger size.) I ordered the cajun fries, and holy cow, were they ever cajun! It would've been better had there been a little salt and even some sugar in the coating, but it was nearly uneatable since it was just cajun but seemingly without flavor. I noticed that they have shelled peanuts for you to snack on in the store while you're waiting for your food, but I have not idea why exactly they have them. Reducing my review to just 4 stars. I realized that my review last time contained some nonfactual information. This is the ONLY Five Guys establishment that I've been to that doesn't have the big fancy coke machine. I was really disappointed by that when I was here yesterday. Secondly, I ordered two grilled cheeses, as usual. Whoever was making my grilled cheeses must have been new because my grilled cheeses were not sliced in half (OK-fine, no big deal there) but there were also just not prepared properly. I've been to many Five Guys locations and I've always gotten my same-old Five Guys grilled cheese. I'm not even sure what was missing. My guess is that they didn't use enough butter. The end result was that I ate 1.5 of my 2 grilled cheeses and then just stopped because they just didn't taste good. Five Guys isn't famous here in Denver like it is in DC. If you want to make an impression in this market, you gotta keep it consistent. I will be back and I'm hoping for better! read more

Yes! I love Five Guys! I first had it in Alabama and was disappointed the learn that the closest one to me here is so far away, but I do make the trip every now and then when I'm out in Aurora. For $12, my husband and I both get a burger and share a regular order of fries. The fries are the best part of the meal, in my opinion, as they're always hot and fresh and just so darn good and potato-y. As far as the burgers, how can you go wrong with unlimited toppings at no extra charge? This place is just so great, and you can tell how good it is by the number of people there at lunch and dinner time. Best Five Guys I have ever been to. The food is the usual awesome: delicious, fresh, filling, and perfectly greasy and unhealthy. Damn good cheeseburgers, right? Great burger place, better than Smashburger, Larkburger, or Fatburger. Fries are damn fresh and the burger is very tasty. The regular hamburger is 2 patties, i think 1/2 pound of beef? It takes a few minutes to get your order and that's because it is made fresh, to order, including any topping you want or don't want. Burger is made well done but not dry or burned, just right. The fries are little thicker than regular "fast food" fries and they have the skin on, did i mention how fresh and tasty they are? It is pretty busy on a Saturday and will cost you about $10 for a meal but it is worth it, not everyday, but once or twice a month. I'll be back. read more

They should have a huge peanut warning on the front of their door. All their fries are fried in peanut oil. It's makes a great fry. And they are not stingy on the fries. The hamburgers and hotdogs are good. The price is decent. The service is great. read more

I had been driving by this place for a few months and decided to give it a try for lunch with my son. Wow, what a great choice it turned out to be. A great burger and I love the fries. Fresh cut and not buried in salt. I felt like a snake when I tried to get the burger in my mouth (dislocating my jaw)! The burger was fantastic. Great meat and really fresh ingredients. Finally a place that makes a burger the way I would at home! They don't skimp on the condiments or the fries, especially the fries! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars - location - really hard to find parking when it's busy (and it's always busy). Oh, and a pet peeve - the grilled onions are chopped, not cut. The other day a co-worker went out to grab lunch for everyone. I got a bacon cheeseburger with mushrooms and mayo... WOW! It was pretty darn good! I also had cajun fries with it which were also delicious. On the down side, the cajun fries left an annoying after taste in my mouth that lingered almost all afternoon. I wasn't too fond of this strong taste in my mouth... very annoying. Even the next day, the entire office reeked of cajun fries because of the leftovers in the trash cans. 4 stars on tasty goodness 4 stars on the massive amount of cheese on the burger and my bag being stuffed with french fries 2 stars on annoying, stinky, lingering after taste fries 2 stars on the meal costing about $10 when it had the value of $5 read more

Oh this review, more than any other, is going to get me into big trouble! Why? I'm pretty sure my girlfriend will leave me over this review; accordingly, if you are available - let me know! Okay, here goes: this In-N-Out Burger clone is no match for the original! At In-N-Out Burger, the same meal costs much less, has less grease and, dare I say it - tastes better than the food at Five Guys. I don't get Five Guys at all: more than $10 for an okay cheeseburger, very good fries and a fountain drink; at In-N-Out Burger that same meal costs $6 and a bit of change, plus you don't have to ring out the burger and fries. But, forget I ever said In-N-Out Burger, as they don't exist in Denver. And, in Denver, you can forget Five Guys exists as there are so many great burger joints, you never need to visit Five Guys unless you converted your car's fuel requirements to grease. I tried Five Guys today after a bit of a hiatus from cheeseburgers. I ordered a single, smallest fry available and a small drink. My order came to over $15.50! I was flabbergasted, I thought they made a mistake. Over four bills for a small fry and $3 for a drink, this type of pricing will just make me go somewhere else. I was starving for a burger today, but strapped for cash. I did a quick search on the internet where I came upon scattered information about Five Guys. (should have Yelp'ed first, but it is often hard to do a quick search on Yelp) What I found sounded promising and enough to convince me to put tires to pavement and head east towards Aurora. Wow! That is what I can say about this place. I know that Five Guys is a chain, but this place takes chain and fast food concepts to a whole different level. Evolutionary steps above any McD or Goodtimes or anyone else. These burgers are delicious and flavorful, inexpensive and loaded with any combination of patron selected toppings without any additional cost. The fries are delicious, whether regular or cajun, and plentiful. All the ingredients taste incredibly fresh and expertly put together. As I munched each delicious bite I kept thinking how delicious the burgers and fries were. When was the last time you ate at a fast food chain and thought about how tasty everything you were eating was? If only they had some handmade milkshakes to go along with all of the other delicious offerings. Five Guys is a great value! I am all about this spot and will certainly be headed there anytime I get to craving a delicious and inexpensive burger and fries. Another plus, which I have not taken advantage of (yet). These guys make great burgers. They are made with good old American beef and nice American bread! These burgers are 100% American. Although these guys make good burgers they are quite expensive. Not that that really matters to me because I was smart and invested in retirement! Just a warning to you millennials, invest in your future and save some money for later. The default review for five guys is five stars - no different here. I've been a fan of Five Guys since first trying it in Virginia back in 2004. This particular location makes it an easy stop while driving to or from cherry creek state park. I'll usually go in and get a bacon cheeseburger with all the trimmings. This is more of a general comment for the chain which includes but isn't limited to this location - the quality of five guys burgers is consistently high regardless of which location I visit across the country. If they can do it, I'm even more boggled to as why In-N-Out says they can't solve the distribution issue. read more
