Paid a visit to this Five Guys for dinner on a recent trip to Brentwood since BurgerFi closed and I'm not a fan of Mooyah's but wanted a burger. Besides, I hadn't been to Five Guys in a couple years. Can you say "Sticker shock"? My order consisted of a SINGLE cheeseburger, small fry (Cajun, of course), and a fountain drink. When I saw the total was over $22 I almost cancelled and left. Unless you're eating at a full-service restaurant, NO burger is meal is worth $22. But I wanted a burger, so I "hey, it's only money". The staff was pleasant and went about preparing my order, but out of the at least 7 people I saw on staff, only 3 or 4 were actively engaged in work. Two stood behind the counter looking at their phones. There was a lady in the dining room that was doing a fantastic job of getting it cleaned for the approaching dinner rush (I arrived about 4:30 pm). The food was delivered in about 7 minutes and was hot and good. A bit *too* heavy on the Cajun seasoning on the fries, but not really a complaint. The bigger issue, of course, is the price tag for what it, essentially, a minimalist dinner. I'm pretty sure that's the case with most Five Guys, so it'll probably be a couple years before I visit a Five Guys again, unless either the prices go down or I get a helluva raise. read more

Everything was clearly made to order and came out hot. Although it was hot, the burger just looked... sad. The bun wasn't fluffy, the condiments were incorrect. It was late & I was hungry. I ordered a cheeseburger & fries. I didn't realize it would be two patties. One patty would have been sufficient for me. I couldn't believe they charged me $5.49 for little fries. My total order was $20.75 with less than $2 tip. When they handed me the bag it was full of grease. The food was ok, definitely not worth $20.75. I didn't get a drink. The burger was $11.89 according to my receipt. I won't be returning any time soon with these prices. If I would have taken time to read the reviews. I would have discovered prices are over the top for a fast food restaurant. They were closing. The cook was leaving when I pulled out. My first time trying Five Guys was an unforgettable experience . I was greeted when I came in , and Odman at the register was extremely helpful , and very friendly and helpful . Took our orders with precision and attention . The syrup was going out in the soda machine, and when I told him he immediately went to try it himself , and then got with a co worker to try and fix it . They got it fixed but NOT only THAT ! Odman himself came to our table and told us it was all good to go . Inspires confidence in this business and not only was the service great the burger was as well . I got a bacon cheeseburger with hot sauce , lettuce , grilled onions , and grilled peppers . It was very delicious and we got small fries but they absolutely filled them up ! Price seemed a bit stiff at first but for the big burgers and amount of fries that we got , I'd say it's pretty justified . Will be going here when I feel like being big back with no judgement. The Good: I really like the burgers and being able to customize the ingredients. The Bad: why they lost two stars...like many places they have gone to mobile ordering. Frustrating to those in the restaurant because you have a limited time for lunch, walk in and see no line and expect to be served quickly. Instead they have numerous online orders in front of you. I suggest a video board showing how many orders are ahead of you. That would allow you to decide if you have enough time to wait or not. Tips: The Junior sized burger is big enough for most people at lunch I think. read more

As far as fast food goes, once you've had Five Guys, you'll never go back to Wendy's again. Their burgers are so good that they actually keep pace with some of the best burgers in town (PM, Fido -- yes I know, I'm Hillsboro-Belmont-biased) and the dining area is always blindingly, sparklingly clean. I've always had good experiences at this location, though the parking lot is sometimes filled with Franklin moms in SUVS out for pedestrian blood. Still better than the teeny lot in the Hill Center's Five Guys, though! Mostly I'm writing this because I'm psyched about their fancy new soda fountains. Apparently these are popping up all over the country but this is the first I've seen of them, and since I don't drink soda at home I tend to get very excited when there's a good fountain selection at a casual restaurant. (DON'T JUDGE!) Also, the cashier/person running everything, B, was really cool and showed me the cartridges that pop into the fountain/machine and pointed out all the flavoring options for Coke and Sprite that I didn't even notice. Nice staff really make all the difference, as even the best food isn't worth bad service, and B was efficient, friendly, and totally brightened my day. Added plus: they are open til 10 every night, which is a rarity in the dead zone that is post-9pm Brentwood. read more

This restaurant is just plain dirty!!! Came here at 11am Saturday and there's only one other customer so really no excuse. Every single table was dirty, crumbs, large food particles, drink stains, sticky. The floor throughout the restaurant was also extremely dirty. There appeared to be more than enough staff on hand so I can only conclude this is the result of laziness! Incredibly disappointing! read more

I love Five Guys for their fries, as well. I do wish they were less greasy though. I get the little burger, as the regular is too big. The rest of my family get theirs big though, and they love them. The guys in the family really appreciate the peanuts too. The kids would really love for them to offer shakes. Oh, and we all love sitting outside when the weather is nice. When the patio can't be utilized, the restaurant can get completely full during peak dining hours. read more

Probably one out of 3 times I go here they mess up my order, and it's always in the same way. Somehow they always manage to put cheese on my normal hamburger, and, seeing as I can't eat cheese, it ruins it. Five Guys is WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get.) When you walk in the door you are immediately greeted by complimentary peanuts and bags of top quality potatoes (yes, they make their own fries!) I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with mustard, grilled onions, lettuce and tomato and an order of house fries. Five Guys doesn't have a "stock burger" so you have to tell 'em how you want it. Our orders were ready in about seven minutes. Presentation was very iffy because the food came out in a "to go" bag and there were tons of freshly-cooked fries on top of the burgers. I had to endure a minor amount of pain digging the burgers out as well as transferring some of the fries on to the wrapper for the burger (no plates here.) But both the burger and fries were excellently prepared and tasted great. I'm hoping that Five Guys will re-open a store in Green Hills, the previous one was hidden in the back of Hill Center so hardly anybody knew it was there. Location, location, location! read more

This is a good burger joint! I had a bacon burger, my girl had a plain hamburger. The buns, meat and toppings were all excellent and tasted great. The handling of the food by cooks and staff is exemplary. The service was prompt (and it was B-U-S-Y) and the price was low. The burger market is highly competetive and is becoming more sophisticated. This is evidenced by the loss of a part of the market by Maccas; and it is due in large part to chains such as Five Guys who are providing a product which is a step above the two big, old, burger chains. I usually always come to this location due to the ridiculous Disney style lines next door at Chikfalet.The burger is always solid. Is it better than in and out. That old running debate. For me, it is an easy no. But, since I'm in Nashville and In and out is not, Five Guys is the winner here. They were way over cooked and mine was missing toppings, but to be fair it is Sunday after church and the place is standing room only. Best to avoid this location. Though the restaurant is clean and the staff is friendly the food is mediocre at best. Also this location charges premium prices. I'm guessing that's because of the toney Brentwood location? I paid $27.61 for 2 cheeseburgers, 1 order fries and 2 soft drinks. The order was accurate but my burger tasted of fried fish. I think it was the woody unripen tomato. The worst item on the menu here has to be the fries. They are ALWAYS soggy and mushy. I ask for well done every time I order and get mushy, poorly cooked fries every time. It's simply bad cooking technique by an obviously untrained staff. I blame management for this one. Five Guys - ah - how I miss thee. I remember my old roommate walked in with this brown paper bag filled with 1 burger and, what seemed to me, an absurd amount of fries. I asked where he got his burger and he said "Five Guys". At that point I had never heard of Five Guys. One day, weeks later, we had to go to TJ Maxx (which is in the same shopping center) and he pointed out the Five Guys from our previous discussion. He said he'd like to have another Five Guys burger while we were out this way - and I thought a burger sounded OK. However, I am used to mediocre burger and have had more than my fair share of them in my day. So, we park, go inside, walk to the counter and he orders first. The first thing I noticed was that the burgers were all two patties - but, if that is the way they do them here - that was the way I was going to have it. I decided to get my burger with cheese, lettuce, tomato, bacon, jalapenos and bbq sauce. I also proceeded to order some fries. My friend then steps over and says "You can have some of mine...don't order any fries..." So, upon his recommendation - I cancel my order of fries and order a soda as well. The cashier points out my number (which they will call when your order is ready). So, my old roommate and I find a table and sit down to wait for our food. We grabbed a handful of peanuts to tide us over until they called our numbers. Finally - my number is called and I go to pick up my burger. I sit down - not fully ready for the experience I am about to have. The first bit I took...Wow! That was all I could say. Wow! This burger was perfect. I really couldn't imagine a more perfect burger. The burger was done to well-done, which is how I usually get them, but they know how to make a well-done burger. Contrary to popular belief well-done does NOT mean burn the hell out of it. A well done burger can be juicy and flavorful without leaking blood. If you can cook a well-done burger correctly and NOT make it dry - kudos. Now, if you can make it moist, juicy and flavorful with a great combination of seasonings, toppings and bun - then you have a real winner on your hands. My brother and I live almost 200 miles apart and I called him a day or so later - raving about my experience at Five Guys. He had never heard of it. However, I just happened to be online and checked the website and found one close to him. I told him he needed to check it out. A couple days later I get a call from him gushing about how great the burger was and how he's already taken our mom and dad there and his entire family as well. One last thing I will mention. Keep in mind the time of day you are going. For instance - if you are going at noon - your food is more likely to be hot and fresh. If you go at an off peak time like - 2pm or so (after the lunch rush) you might have food that has sat around for a while. I mention this because the only time I have EVER had anything less than stellar here was when I went in an off-peak time. The best times to go are when they are busy so you know the freshest stuff is coming out of the fryers and off the griddle. I wish I could say more - but there really isn't anything left to say - so, let me sum it up for you: Great Burgers (but they are double patties - so if you can't eat that much - save yourself some $ and order the Little burger) Great Fries - but if you are going with a group - 1 order of fries will feed 2 of you. Toppings - you can get most anything you want on them for free. Well Done does not = Burned. Five Guys is proof of this! Its a little expensive. 1 regular burger, 1 order of fries and 1 drink and you are out about 10 bucks. If you have peanut allergies - you might want to stay away. They have peanuts all over the store (that you can eat while you wait). They also fry the fries in peanut oil. Soooo...probably best to not even walk in there! I can only attest to this location. If you still go to Fat Mo's for your big, fatty, tasty burgers - I understand and appreciate your dedication. However, go to Five Guys. Fresh French fries, they cut them daily. Also, if you take your fries seriously they have vinegar and other toppings not generally found at a "burger joint." Word of caution: their "Burgers" are actually double patty burgers. You should probably start out with a Little Burger, which is the expected "normal" size. Also, their fry servings are easily shared between two people and this is common practice. They do have more than burgers than fries. They have hot dogs, grill cheese and a veggie sandwich - I'm not sure if that's grilled veggies or veggie burger. I have not tired anything other than burger and fries. My only con is that they use Styrofoam to serve their fries. UPDATE: They no longer use styrofoam. Yay! read more

Been here enough to question whether I'm addicted to hamburgers or not. Regular burger is two patties, I like grilled onions, mushrooms and cheese. and a water. The floor is so slippery, it's like you are in a kitchen. Really annoying but I'm sure your kids can get a kick out of it. They come in a paper bag, and there are enough of them for the whole table to share. We tried the Cajun fries one time, and they really didn't do anything for me. Three strikes and out - for me. I'm here on a Thursday night at 639pm with 5 customers - one for each "Guy". The buns aren't really fresh - and the fries weren't either. The last 3 times here, a $4.19 medium fry has been the equivalent of a McDonald's large. Not sure why they are skimping on potatoes. The place is run by kids who are talking instead of keeping the place up. It's not dirty - but guys, the food here just isn't fresh. It was $27 for 2 (little) burgers, fries, a hot dog and 2 drinks. I'm thinking overall Hardee's and Burger King are same quality at less than half the price. There's too much competition in the premium burger space. This place is slowly dying. read more

five guys is usually so good so I have been surprised with the disappointing visits we have had only in the last few weeks. The first time I ordered with door dash and my dasher was waiting for a very long time at the restaurant, and then the second time my dad went to pick it up and when he called about 30 minutes after the pick up time, they said that there had been an "issue" and they were just then getting the fries going. By the time we got home (it's only a 5 minute drive) everything (including the fries) were cold and soggy. Also they have been adding in random steak fries which are disgusting. One of the best parts of five guys is their fries but the steak fries are super gross and they keep adding them in. I don't know if something is wrong with their machine or not, but we were very disappointed overall. Also, when I asked for extra A1 sauce and asked them to put it on the side, they put like a drop of it on the burger. And it just made it kind of salty. It is hard for me to understand the hype surrounding these burgers. There is a lot of meat but just grilled with no seasoning on a flat top. The burgers are as thick as they are wide making it impossible to eat without a bib. It takes three hands to handle this one. To have a burger fries and drink will set you back just south of $10. The level of disrespect I was shown over the phone by a manager (Joanna) at the brentwood location was honestly disappointing. Today, I went hiking at Radnor Lake & was exhausted therefore didn't feel like cooking. So, I decided to order something greasy to reward myself. I ordered via doordash to save myself the trouble of going out. As I was checking to see when my driver would arrived, I noticed that it said no bun on my order, something I'd never click because my diet is all about the carbs & honestly to me a $8 burger with simply the patty would never make sense for me. I called the restaurant so they potentially could correct the mistake & was placed on hold for approximately 5 minutes for the manager. I honestly was confused why a manager was necessary for a no bun issue. When the manager answered the phone, she was extremely condescending from the jump telling me that I must've clicked the no bun option because that's what her receipt said. I explained that I did not & she insisted that I must've did it on accident. She repeatedly continued to do this and was even laughing while saying it. I then posed a question, "what does the system do when you don't click anything under the bun option?" Her response, "I don't know, because I have never used door dash." At no point was any apology made. Then when my food arrived, nothing about it was remotely worth the wait or disrespect of the phone call. Everything was slapped in this tin foil container, with no attempt at making it presentable. It really looked & felt like cookout. At least at cookout, you know what you are getting when you arrive. I'd never normally write a review this long but that's just how pissed off this all made me. Might even call corporate tomorrow & explain that Joanna really needs to attend a training on customer service & hospitality lessons.
