We went to the Five Guys in Chesapeake, VA. The food was good here. The wait time was a bit long and it was expensive.

We received a friendly welcome entering FIVE GUYS. It's been a while since I've been here, as the burgers are a bit large for me to actually finish. After waiting in line to place an order. The order taker multi tasks welcoming customers, taking orders, keeping fries dropped, and burgers on the grill. I honestly do not recall seeing his name tag, but our receipt was printed in Kameron. So Kameron did an amazing job helping me with my order, offing extras on my shake and burger, even offering Cajun Fries that I did not even know they had. Once our order was complete, he let us know that it would be out asap. As everyone worked hard to get their jobs done. I stepped to a clean table and ruined my appetite, snacking on salted cruncy peanuts. The restaurant was pleasingly clean, even the prep area. Our order number was called, after a short wait. The fries were delicious as we arrived home. Burger cooked to perfection and juicy. As for the ambiance, it's fast food done right. Hot fresh cooked food without warmers. When I crave a burger this is my go-to-place. I know I will get a fresh burger with all the toppings I want with a massive amount of fries. I love the fries here. I grab a table and eat without any disruptions from pretty much anyone. I just want to focus on my burger and drown it all down with my personally crafted diet beverage. That's right. DIET BEVERAGE. I have to keep the balance or else who knows what might happen!!! The place is bright and makes it so I feel happier eating my burger treat. It's been quite a while since I've been here however a recent stop was exceptionally good. I had a late lunch on this particular day, it was after 3pm and other than the staff and one or two others I pretty much had this place to myself. I ordered a regular Bacon Cheeseburger, which is that double patty monstrosity, along with fries and a drink. They have those cool Coke machines there were you can make your own drink, so I made an Orange Coke. After a short wait my meal was ready and they called my name. As usual it comes in a brown bag with an extra scoop of fries on top. I laid the bag down and ripped it up the center and pulled out my burger. Upon opening it was then that I recalled "regular" here means 2 patties on the burger and "small" means one patty. Oh well, I'll be skipping dinner tonight. The burger was delicious, it was juicy and well dressed with pickles, mustard, tomato, cheese and BACON! That burgers time on earth was short, but eventful. The fries were also good. I like them plain with just a little salt. After finishing I threw out my trash and I refilled my soda and as I was walking out the door someone thanked me for coming in. They have always been expensive, as you get what you pay for. However, the price has gone from high to absolutely ridiculous. The last time i was there, my usual was over $21. This place was amazing. Just upright amazing. To start off the food was amazing, the Burger's are good and taste so good without so much grease. The cheese melts so perfectly and tastes better than any other fast food could do. They get their potatoes from Idaho and it is phenomenal. The employees just give so much positive vibe and actually are on how you are doing. The floors clean, the bathrooms clean, the machines clean, the tables clean, and so much more. This is not really a good five guys. I've been there about three or four times, and I guess I didn't want to believe what I was seeing. The peanuts are damp and chewy, not crunchy. (Noticed on two separate occasions. Is the store too humid?) I haven't noticed anything with the burger, but the one time I bought an order of french fries in months and I wanted them to be five guys fries these were not good. What's to say about Five Guys ? You been one have been all, it's an idiot proof menu and if you like them you love them. But with any franchise some locations are better than others. This is the best Five Guys ever !! My family and I love coming here weekly after practice. Such a great team working here, so friendly, it's always clean, they make the food with love. Completely agree with a previous reviewer the team cohesion and overall positivity at this location is quite spectacular and is the envy of any customer service business. I run a maritime service business that pays far higher wages and if my managers can capture just a fraction of the vibe going on here it's a win which really goes to show that leadership and building effective teams is not all about money. We doused it with malt vinegar and it was basically a party in my mouth! The lady at the counter was absolutely friendly as can be! I personally love five guys. Its something good that I can pick up for a quick bite to eat. They are fast and simple. You order a burger and pick all your toppings. Their fries are awesome especially the cajun fries. Five guys may be a little pricey for fast food, but you can't beat the quality and quantity of food you get. The only negative thing I might say is that their bun can get real soggy after its been wrapped in their foil, but other than that enjoy your meal with a dr. pepper. read more

There are times where I just crave a burger that tastes like something that you get from a backyard cook out and this was even better. Son says, "You're supposed to throw them on the floor." The floor looks clean, but I follow suit. The other patrons look at us like the Clampetts just showed up. Cashier grabs the broom and dustpan and starts collecting our refuse. Son says to her, "You want us to throw them on the floor, right? I know this chain is hugely popular, but I have to be honest - Five Guys was not a great burger experience for me. The service was fine - I got my burger and fries quickly and they were served hot. I prefer a grilled burger rather than fried and this one had that definite fried texture/taste. For me, just ok. They do have a nice selection of toppings to add which was a definite plus. Another plus, everything was fresh. I should have gone with the Cajun Fries, but tried the Five Guys Fries instead. They had a good potato flavor, but they came out soggy and somewhat greasy. Maybe the oil was not hot enough? The worst part of the visit was noticing that greasy smell on my clothing after I left. I had to go back to work after lunch and had to endure that smell all day. With the abundance of burger places around that are not fast food, I would be tempted to try others before going back to Five Guys. read more

I had been to Five Guys in Phoenix and the prices here seemed higher than I remembered, so I chose a little cheeseburger and little fries. I forgot how generous they are with the fries. Even the "little" size order was way more than I could finish! And although the burger was on the smaller side, the toppings of tomato, lettuce, pickles, etc. were generous and the burger was quite filling too. I'll definitely be back. Five Guys is my go to chain for a quality crafted burger with fresh ingredients. I like the open grill concept and the cajun seasoned fries that is often portioned more than what is expected. It may be a pricey joint for some but with unlimited (free) toppings you can really get your money's worth. Toppings include: lettuce, tomato, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, jalapeno peppers, green peppers, mayo, ketchup, & mustard and a few more. In other words, Five Guys know not to skimp on the toppings and fries! A regular size burger comes with two patties but you do get the option of going "little." While you wait on your order number to be called you can grab some peanuts by the front left of the soda machines next to the condiments. The soda machines are another great addition to this establishment because they dispense a lot of different choices and flavors for you to create your own soda concoction. Overall, chill atmosphere, friendly staff, and "guys" who can deliver a bomb ass burger. read more
