Food I give a 4 1/2 for quality. Fries are real potatoes and real good . Price for what you get takes it down to 4. Management total blew it at this location. They are real slow to get food out at this location. I will chose another chain to eat when i am in this side of town. Only one cook working no prep staff . Watching my food get cold sitting in bag. Once I got my food it was missing one of the two burgers. The one missing was my kids which was plane and dry so pretty simple. The music here is loud and a lot of heavy metal. Tried to go to the Denton Loop 288 Five Guys today. Supposedly open at 11am. People inside (2 workers 1 person at a table) doors locked at 11:15 they watched us stand in the rain for 5 minutes and did nothing...no attempt to let us know if there was a problem or anything. The first time I went to a Five Guys was at this location in 2012ish and it won me over ever since! I love how fresh and real these burgers are and love that they give you hella fries (get them Cajun style!)! My bf and I usually order two little cheeseburgers all the way with Jalepeños and one little order of Cajun style fries. It's more than enough and so good! On my most recent trip Crequalon greeted us enthusiastically when we walked in, suggested we get the Jalepeños grilled, and made the few minutes of this transaction so pleasant! It was when we were leaving and Crequalon wished us a genuine goodbye that we were both so taken back of how good of service he provided! Such a nice dude and the main reason I'm writing this review! This place lies to you and me. The surplus of "guys" include "girls" as well. I expected the flavor of Five Guys in my burger, but it's more like 6 dudes and a couple of girls yelling at each other about "doubles" and other terminology for making burgers. This place is way too popular for the time being, so the lines are as far as the eye can see from wall to wall. Good news: you can eat unshelled peanuts while you wait. I end up just unshelling them and playing with the shells and thinking that it'd be totally awesome to be tiny and use the peanut shell as a canoe. Their normal burger is dos-patties and is definitely better with cheez. This is not a burger for healthy food-seekers. It's greasy and tends to fall apart if you're not good at gripping. Take that first bite. It'll be good. It won't blow your mind, but at least it doesn't blow. That's confusing and makes perfect sense if you think about it. You also get to choose from a variety of toppings that are probably extraneous, but hey, it's all about piling up your burger until it's too big to fit into your mouf. Their fries are fresh-cut and you really only need to get the regular size because they'll pile that shit so high, that you're gonna be eating Dr. Nick's fat-gaining diet. Meaning, the bag eventually becomes clear. That's when you know it's a good meal. Get the Cajun style for extra flavor. Nope, nope, & nope. I was so excited to try this highly anticipated burger joint and unfortunately it bombed :-/ The atmosphere is small, crowded, loud, annoying. The burgers are not good to me at all. I didn't like the cheese in particular... I'm assuming it was American cheese which I personally hate. Cheddar for the win! Anyhow, it was your average burger. Not impressed. The fries are actually good... I enjoyed them & will give them 1 star. The service was bad. The cashier couldn't even hear us giving our orders because it was so dang loud. ALL of our burgers came out wrong as a result. My dad called the customer service number afterwards to tell about our experience and said a representative would be calling us back and we never received that call. Automatic dismissal in my book. I can't stand poor customer service; I don't care if you're a fast food restaurant or a five-star restaurant.. you're in a customer service business nonetheless. This is always how we wind up going to Five Guys. My boyfriend and I sit in the car and discuss how nice it would be to have really good food. We generally narrow it down to a few different places, pass Five Guys, and are both spontaneously like "You know what I really want? Five Guys." It always wins, every time. And there's a very, VERY good reason! The food here is fantastic. Seriously, seriously good food. Not only do I love me some delicious burger-y goodness, but all of the options for toppings, man! It's craziness! The burgers themselves aren't so thick that you can't fit the whole burger (buns included, ploite sir/madam!) in your mouth! The patty itself is a good, medium size, moist, and delightful with as many toppings as you can throw on a burger. The flavor of the patty supports all of the toppings on the menu happily. Most burgers are ordered with two patties, which is delightful for me, because the one time I ordered a single burger, I whimpered and whined at my boyfriend until he shared some with me. :) haha! The FRIES are a whole different story. My boyfriend and I ALWAYS split a small fry. Always. I'm not personally a fan of the flavored fries because I prefer plain myself, but they're loaded with spice and smokey flavor. The regular fries are, too, but without the spice! And did I mention that a small fry feeds two? /A small fry feeds two./ This is important! Haha. But really, the prices are outstanding for all of the food that you get. This place is great for when you have a group of friends and you're looking for a place to lay low and grab something for lunch. As an added bonus, they have peanuts for you to snack on while you wait for your food! And they're pretty darn good peanuts too. It's hard not to like a place that lets you put everything except the kitchen sink on your burger and what a good burger it is! Service is fast and friendly and the place is super clean(which it is a new building). I'm not a huge fan of the greasy style fries they have, but i can understand how some appreciate them. The only real complaint is i always feel like the place is way to small. If they would pile up those potato bags in the back and get normal handrails for a line it would open up more space. Big tip for you: order only small fries. They overload the cup and then put handfulls in your bag. equals like three or four cups worth! read more

I always order their cajun fries, despite the wait. I'm a fan of the fresh, cook-to-order system especially when it comes to the potatoes. They are served bagged and hot, and if you're like me, you'll be juggling burning hot fries trying to eat every single one while driving. As for the store front, if you've seen one Five Guys, you've seen them all, since they are laid out nearly identically to each other. Service is accurate for the fast casual setup, but the dining space could use more frequent bussing especially when they get busy during peak hours. read more

Five Guys is amazing. I'm sure it will kill me soon thanks to the greasy burgers but that is exactly what makes them good. Not only would I recommend this place to everyone, I would scream it in their face to eat there. The burgers as mentioned earlier are a little greasy, but that's what makes them amazing burgers, so look past that. Their taste is precisely what a burger needs to taste like! It basically melts in your mouth is so tasty. Let's be honest, the fries are not the best, kinda strange if you ask me, but they are still good regardless. If it's your first time, get them, just to experience them. The environment is great for a sit down eating or you can just get it to go, either way is a good choice. If you think you're in a hurry and thought of having five guys burgers as a fast food burger.. you're wrong!Huge mistake for me to come here for lunch before my 12.30 class :( I've seen this place at the galleria in dallas but I've never actually had their burger before. Overall, their fries are good, they tell you which farm it's from. They say they're 0g trans fat, use healthy peanut oil etc. I had their chesseburger (it's two patties), if you want a smaller portion, order the little sized (one patty). You get to put whatever toppings you want for free. I find their patty too minced and grounded to become a patty, however it's actually not that bad as you eat it and it doesn't mess the burger and the patties' position ( because sometimes you tear your burger and the patty and bun are all disproportionate. waiting line was terribly long (lunch hour.. go figure) and the kitchen was very busy and messy. However, they do have peanuts all over the restaurant for you to munch on while waiting. The seats are all kinda crowded too, making it hard to walk around in the restaurant. I would come back to five guys once in a blue moon but it's nothing that i crave for personally. read more

Is 5 Guys the best burger chain in Denton? It's not even the best burger chain on that street (for that honor, go down to RG Burger at I-35E for a truly awesome burger). It is definitely a step up from the Big 3, but nowhere near the best in town. The burgers are OK, but nothing special. The fries are a different matter. If you get fries here, for your own sake, get the SMALL fries. I'm 6'6", have a healthy appetite and could only finish half a small fry with a burger. Now the fries aren't for everybody. They are the old fashioned, un-coated fries fried in a heavier oil. As a result, they are not as crispy as some others, and are brownish, but are also definitely fresher, if heavier. I rather like them. Get the Cajun fries; the Cajun flavoring makes the fries much more enjoyable. In short, I'm not sure who makes the best burger in town, but it's not 5 Guys. I had lunch at 5 guys on Friday, February 9, 2018. The burger and fries were a solid C+ ... not the best in Denton but ok and WAY overpriced ($9 for a bacon cheeseburger and $6 for a large fries). The inside was bustling but clean - you order yourself and pickup yourself so there really is no service. "To go" and "dine in" are each served in a sack. This afternoon, I went to Five Guys for the first ~ and last time. To start, the music was so loud! I ordered a bacon cheese burger ($8.56), with "little" fries ($4.22 !!!) and a soda ($2.86). The burger was ok. Nothing special and flatter than a crepe. Way over priced. The fries were horrible. I thru them away. Their "Little Burger" is definitely full sized, nothing small about it. Their regular fries could be split by two people. Problem is the prices! Little burger, regular fries (no small available) and regular drink (no small available) with tax was $13.52 before tip! I've heard a bunch about this chain, and they certainly like to toot their own horn. They seem to be well rated from various sources. So how were they? Someone told me that they are generous with the fries...holy crap they gave us a ton! I liked the Cajun fries the best. They were a positive overall. The drink selection is nice...they even have Coke Zero (a definite plus!!). The decor is fine. It seems very old burger/shake shop like. I like that, think Steak and Shake. This spot just opened recently and it was extremely busy! There is no drive-thru; so if you want to save time, order on-line at www.Fiveguys.com. I'm sure things will settle down considerably after the "new" has worn off. So onto the main attraction, the burgers! How were they? Will they beckon me back? I ordered the Bacon Cheese Burger with lettuce, pickles, mushrooms, mayo, mustard, and ketchup. The size of the burger is more than adequate and pretty fairly priced for about $6.50 with everything you could want on it. The bacon was very tasty, lettuce was fine, pickles were superb, and the cheese was alright. I must say I was a little disappointed with the cheese. That is usually the most consistent part of a burger no matter were you go. Don't misunderstand me, it was good, just not great. The meat was descent, again not great, but certainly better than what you'd get from most chains. I would certainly go again, but this is not something that I will crave (oh how I long for you Bobcat Bite...). If I wasn't going for quick and cheap (like Burger King, Wendy's, etc), I would probably chose this instead. It's a step up from those guys certainly. Take a friend and split the fries; you'll have plenty to eat and save yourself a few bucks. We barely even made a dent in our 3 servings of fries, and had to throw a ton away (at approximately $3 for their small, that was expensive and wasteful). Normal 5 Guys location but this review is more of a statement on the entire chain. This is a really good burger but is a burger fries and drink reLly worth $14? Within 1/4 mile of this location there are no less than 3 places serving a similar quality meal at 25-50% less. Of course the fries are good and abundant but they are just potatoes. This is probably the best fast food hamburger I've ever had. I had the big bacon cheeseburger with fries. The big versus the small burger translates into 1 patty versus 2 patties. The Cajun fries are the way to go. Put whatever condiments you want on your burger for free including grilled onions, jalapeños, mushrooms, lettuce, tomato, etc. This place beats "In and Out"and stomps Whataburger. My only complaint is the overall noise level in the restaurant. The restaurant is always packed, so it would be noisy anyway, but they also play loud pop music which forces everyone to yell over the music (and each other). It was very difficult for the 5 of us at the table to hear each other. Turn the music down and I would give 5 Guys 5 stars, but I can only do 4 stars if I have to yell to be heard at my table. read more

I had been looking forward to a burger here, but was sorely disappointed. I ordered the little bacon cheeseburger and it lived up to the name of little. The burger I remember from the last 5 guys in north carolina was a small but thick burger. This was closer to the size of a dteak and shake burger altbough not nearly as good and twice the price. The bacon was burnt and crumbled pieces and tbe buger so thin it was hard to taste. For almost 8 dollars I expected a tasty bite. Sorry won't be back or recommend to anyone else. read more

Very good homestyle burgers! The fries are skin-on and really good also. Note: the regular-size burgers are two patties each; as someone with a smaller appetite, I would have gotten the little burger if I'd known.
