This is a typical Five Guys location so, if you've been, you know what to expect - that is to say, great things. However, the only qualm I have about this place is that they were slow... painfully slow... in making the burgers. Everything tasted good and was made well, it just took them forever to make it. It's really the perfect place to bring the family if you're looking for a quick and cheap meal. Parking is plentiful. You can easily find a table, even at prime meal times, so there's minimal waiting. The lines move quickly. The atmosphere in the dining area is super laid back. And finally, the staff handles complex orders with ease and professionalism. Needless to say, I'm a big fan of the place. However, I do have to say that it would be nice if they did a better job with floor and bathroom cleanliness. Every time we eat here, it's clear that the sanitation level is a bit lacking. Have been asking the BF for a while now about a lunch or dinner date at Five Guys. I really wanted some Five Guys for a while now, but I was alone in this so I came to this nearby location by myself for lunch. I had not come to this Ewing location in maybe three years. Little has changed. Place is still clean and inviting. The staff is very friendly and gracious. They seemed to work well together; I like the collective 'thank you' when they get a tip. There are two differences to the menu that I notice. The Cajun fries which I tried and don't favor. The second thing is the milkshakes. Have those always been in the menu? I had a vanilla shake and it was delicious. I will say this. The burger is not what it used to be. I remember a juicy, piping hot burger with melted cheese. That is not the burger I got today. I was quite surprised actually. Total opposite of what I had been longing for for so long. Perhaps someone can reply to this and let me know if things have changed while I was away. Love the Ewing location. The crew there is always so friendly and accommodating, and even will go out of there way to accommodate you. I've seen them take orders out to customers, plus help customers out to their vehicles with their orders. The place is always so clean and I always see an employee cleaning up to maintain the restaurant. The milkshakes are a must try especially the new Reese's cup shake. Where else are you going to get fresh food they say they prepare daily at this awesome price. I would recommend getting the single burger if you get fries, it is more than enough to fill you up, and leave room for the shake. Free toppings + Seasoned cajun fries for $2 = Carnivore heaven. Considering this is a chain restaurant, I think they make a hell of a good burger. I vary between getting bacon, grilled onions or raw, but whatever you decide to go with it will always come out delicious. Yes, be prepared for the extreme lathargic mood that may come with the last bite of your burgers as well. I always get an order of small fries that I share with the hubby bc it's a small soda cup with another small cup of fries dumped in the bag. If you eat in the restaurant, enjoy the endless peanuts and endless soda stream options as well. I really like the staff here, they are always friendly as well. I also like the open kitchen to see how they are making the stufff. This is my go -to snow day spot, since they seem to always be open. So although 2 burgers and fries inevitably end up costing like $16, at the end, it's well worth it. If only they served alcohol, I'd be here way more often. read more

With the evolution of Burger Culture throughout the planet, it is only a matter of time that the first wave of fast food meat patty institutions, like Mikey D's, BK, and Wendy's either adapt to the second wave epitomized by 5 Guys, Red Robin, Cheeburger, Jake's Wayburger, etc., by upgrading both the menu and the facilities, or go the way of the Doo Doo Bird, and face extinction. This new breed of puck slingers is simply too good not to supplant their predecessors. Once the new Burger Meisters figure out how to drop their price points into the range of the old joints, their fate will be sealed, and as with the dinosaurs, they will become a distant memory, a story grandparents tell their grand kids about when they were young and went to a place with golden arches to get their burger needs met. I'm so surprised I never reviewed this Five Guys location. I think I go maybe once a year now. At first I loved it & went ofyen. Now not so much. I am a burger lover & I just can't get excited about the smushed up foil wrapped burger with cold unmelted cheese. Everything about the place is just fine & I'm happy they offer a small order of their very good fries as an option. I like the peanuts & the large choice of beverages. I noticed many many people drinking their milk shakes & really enjoying them. I just am not too happy with their cheeseburger. Someone suggested to order the cheese heated or melted which I think would be absurd since that is my minimal expectation of any cheeseburger. I suspect I'll come back again one day, but I rather like some of the competition better like Habit Burger. read more

I love 5 guys burgers, the food is really good for a burger joint. The menu isn't extensive but it doesn't matter the food is good enough to make up for that. I love the choices of condiments as well. I always get the cooked mushrooms and onions thrown on with some japlipinos peppers. The peppers are fresh too so there pretty fiery. If you get a normal fry, they still fill the bag, i cannt see someone eating a large unless thats all you got. Their fries are awesome and the burgers are hot (a hot burger is their secret weapon) and delicious! The place is clean with plenty of seating and the staff are very welcoming. It is slightly expensive, I paid $7.45 for my meal without a drink or fries. I feel as though it is worth it, however, as the food is amazing! After driving the main strip to assess my options I settled on a safe bet, the Five Guys burger. Upon entering I learned that all Five Guys are not created equal. This one is much cleaner and more efficient than the ones I've been to in Philly and Bala Cynwyd. The burger wasn't carelessly thrown together with the ingredients (jalapenos, grilled onions and A-1) and predestined to fall apart once unwrapped, like burgers I've unfortunately received in the past. This place is probably what the founders had in mind when they started expanding, and I wouldn't have even bothered to review it if not for the significant difference from other locations (not that anyone will be going out of their way to go to "the better Five Guys"). read more

Look, I drive all the way from Levittown PA just to eat here. Its that good. However, unlike almost all others who will review this place, I will suggest something other than their excellent burgers...get the awesome hotdogs. I'm serious. The grilled hotdog on a perfectly toasted roll with fresh toppings (the Texas Tommy rocks too) is unmatched anywhere in the local area. I took my wife and kids there, demanded they try the hotdog instead of the burgers, and even with alittle resistence, they tried them. They simply loved them. When ever I say "Five Guys" to my wife and kids, they always say "Oh my, I want one of those hotdogs right now!" The fries are amazing too, double fried. Its hard to believe this is considered a "fast food" restaurant. Burgers are made to order, not sitting under a heat lamp. This Five Guys is squeaky clean! I always see someone wiping down tables. The staff is super friendly and the service is fast! The Cheeseburger is seasoned well. As much as I enjoy a good bun, I go bun-less here. I save the carbs for an ordet of their Fries. The burger is wrapped in lettuce. I add Ketchup, Mustard, Mayo, Tomatoes, Onions and Pickles. It's a little sloppy to eat when you go bun-less but it's worth using 27 napkins. Plus toppings are free so why not load up? The Fries are fresh... crispy... seasoned to perfection. I probably would be fine ordering a "Little" but I go with the "Regular". When it comes to chains (especially consistently good chains, like Five Guys), it may seem odd to review one venue over comparable others. And yet, and yet. In college I would take mental health road trips to the Five Guys in Ewing (most often with roommates, but occasionally alone). The whole process was restorative: get off campus, drive through soothing countryside, finally arrive at Five Guys, chow down on meat, cheese, and fries. It may have just been the fact that I was in an ideal frame of mind, but this Five Guys always seemed to taste better (juicier, perfectly salty, warm...) than other Five Guys (and I'm a certified Five Guys fan). Time to stop, because I'm getting hungry, and I live in Illinois now. read more

SHARE the fries. You will never be in a situation in your life where you need to eat an entire order by yourself. Probably not a good idea to eat here more than once every 6 months or so. At least that's the pace I'm setting for myself. If you've got a limited palate or you get called "big guy" a lot, you will LOVE this place. Especially the bacon hot dogs. Right big guy? Was here last week and was grateful they could make my low carb "protein style" bun-less burger wrapped in lettuce, to be held by hand, versus in a rectangular tin to be eaten with fork and knife like the Hillsborough Five Guys do. Great burgers, not a fan of the fries. These stores have been popping up all over my area. They're simple in terms of atmosphere. Like a 50s place with not much decor really. All they hang on the walls are reviews from papers and magazines. Pretty boring, actually. But, if you're going to Five Guys, you want a good burger and that you will get. They have some good options for toppings - you pretty much pick what you want on it and they cook it up for you. Juicy and tasty like a burger should be. One of the best around. As for the fries, well if you like soggy, greasy boardwalk style you may like them. But I didn't care for them at all. So, it's tough to enjoy a burger place when the prime side just isn't very good. That's my opinion based on my tastes though. It's worth a try if you have one nearby. I'll go on occasion but it's not my first choice if there are other burger places around. read more

Five Guys in Ewing, NJ, is an outstanding burger joint. I can't speak for other Five Guys locations, but Ewing location has excellent customer service, an enthusiastic team, and exceptionally fresh food. The burgers rank right up there with the best I've ever had. Big, sloppy, juicy, flavorful, party-in-your-mouth burgers. The toppings are all very fresh and generous. I have absolutely nothing negative to say. The meat flavor is outstanding -- juicy, cooked just enough, with a great balance of salt and spices. The fries are also some of the best I've ever had. Remarkably fresh, cooked to just the right balance of crisp versus tenderness. They feel fresh and real, not like coated fries you get elsewhere. You can actually taste potato in these fries. As someone who enjoys cooking too, I have to say this Five Guys delivers outstanding flavor of burger and fries for the money. It's not particularly cheap, but it's worth the money. read more

One complaint: I know they are a Franchise so not much the local store can do, but I think it is deceptive to have to ask for a little burger instead of having a regular burger and a double burger.
