I thought my burger was really tasty and the inside of the restaurant seemed really clean! I didn't get any fries because as a kid I couldn't stand Five Guys fries.. I'll have to give them another shot but the burger was enough for me. It's really large and you can get a lot of toppings on it but you also have the option of a smaller burger. Service was good and I enjoyed watching the cook make my burger although it did take her a while. It took about 10-15 minutes and I was the only customer in there. Tired and hungry looking for a hot meal in Fultondale AL. Walked into Five Guys and stood in the order line for a brief time. After placing my desired burger order fixed my soda and waited about 8 minutes for my food. The staff was friendly and attentive. Received my burger in a lettuce wrap with fries in a brown bag and walked out the door. Went to my hotel room and started to chow down on my sandwich and French fried taters! This was my first experience with Five Guys. We were driving through and wanted something quick but not the typical fast food. So we decided on this place. I don't usually eat burgers, so I knew it would be interesting, but I heard that the fries were the bomb.com We showed up a few minutes before 11am, so we waited in the car until exactly 11am. As we were standing outside waiting, a few minutes went by and then finally an employee reporting to work came up, so they let him and us in. Luckily they had peanuts for us to snack on because they still weren't ready to serve food. They were literally cleaning the grill off from the night before. Why we didn't turn around and walk up still bewilders me, I guess after waiting that long, we decided to wait a bit longer. Anyways, back to the fact that the night crew from the night prior left the grill unclean for the morning crew to clean. Isn't that unsanitary? Won't that cause bugs or something? I ordered a veggie burger and a fry. The veggie burger was disgusting. It consisted of mushrooms, peppers, wilted lettuce and onions. I went back up and rerequested pickles on the side. The girl rolled her eyes at me and said "the burger you ordered doesn't come with pickles". Had I not have requested them and they were even indicated on my receipt, I wouldn't have been so annoyed, but that on top of the wait, the eye roll and the nasty burger did me in. The Cajun fries were great and were the reason for my second star. The last observation worth noting, because my husband and daughter both got burgers, is that the regular listed burgers come with double patties, so the "small burger" is actually a single patty. I think the reason people end up liking the burger here is because they end up getting a bigger burger than expected. You can have your burger single or double, I just thought I'd inform you because the menu doesn't. I really think this place has potential and obviously has major management issues. read more

Max of 2 stars just because this chain has a limited menu selection and soggy fries which some people worship. You do get a generous portion of them. One is enough to share. I just personally love crispy fries. The menu basically consists of burgers, hot dogs, and or a grilled cheese sandwich. They also have shelled peanuts you can snack on. My husband loves this place because he can get a gigantic burger. He'd give it 5 stars. He did get huffy once when they put fresh jalapenos instead of pickled and vowed not to go back...we've been back several times since. Their hamburgers are just alright but most people love it because you can choose whatever you like to go on it at no extra charge. I do like the hot dog because they split it down the middle and grill the inside and serve it in a steamed bun. Plus I can customize to get grilled onions on my burger and dog which is a rarity at most places. Still I'm not sure Five Guys is worth the higher prices. To put it simply, horrible service and horrible food. Upon entering with our group of six, we waited at the register to order while the workers mingled in the kitchen. After a minute, one of them finally sauntered to take our order. When we asked for drinks, she said their machine was down and pointed to a bucket, filled with ice, that contained bottled drinks: three cokes, two waters, and two honey lemon teas. We decided we would have to split the sodas and water. We asked for cups and ice. The ice machine was apparently out of order as well. We were famished, so we paid for the overpriced burgers and sat down. When we picked up our food, the cheese was not melted and the fries were cold. Being winter, one earns for a great hot meal, but we received mediocre entrees, embarrassing sides, and "kindergartner party styled" beverages. The kitchen staffed continued to bicker as we ate. I understand this is a COVID year and that has impacted the workforce, but I would have hoped that employee training would have taught staff to be polite, concise, and willing to serve their customers. We are, as consumers, paying for their service. And at Five Guys, where they pride their infamous burgers and fries, this establishment could use some work. If you decide to venture here, make sure to bring your own fork, for they were out of those, as well. read more

What is the deal with this place? Best burgers anywhere? Really? With all the hype, I thought the heavens would part, and Jesus himself would walk across the Sea of Galilee and hand deliver my perfect bacon cheese burger and perfect fries. First, this place is totally over rated and over priced. The burger is soggy, and fried are floppy and greasy, and the unsweetened ice tea was as flavorful as dirty water. The fry portion was too expensive and too much to eat. They asked if I wanted fries and I said yes (after all, it is Five Guys Burgers and Fries) and I think they charged me for a large portion rather than a small. So, the burger was soggy. The beef had little flavor, and while I saw bacon on the burger I could not taste it. Flavorless bacon? I have no idea how they accomplished that. The fries were grease flavored. I tried them with vinegar (like they serve them in New England) and I tried them with ketchup. Neither helped. I was also unimpressed with their tea. The unsweetened tea was just tan colored water. So, seeing how this place has won award after award in different markets, I must wonder...how many illicit drugs does one have to smoke to think this is gourmet food? For the cost, they should serve you at your table. Ruby Tuesdays charges the same for similar quality food and they take your order and serve you at your table. BTW, Ruby Tuesdays barely gets 3 stars in my book. One final note: they have blocked the pathway from the front door to the counter to order with tables. So if you are in a wheelchair, you have to try and navigate all the way around (if you can find the space). God help you if you need walker or cane. read more

I don't know what all the bad reviews are about. The food is always really good, the fries hot and they really are my favorite, especially the Cajun fries. We eat here at least once every few weeks and have yet to be disappointed. Overall this is as good of a five guys as I have been in anywhere. Always clean and great food. The way to eat reasonable here is the share the fries with 2 or 3 people. They give you a lot. It can be expensive but better quality in my experience. read more

I really like the buns at this location. They are not the flat, compressed buns I always get at other Five Guys locations. Went to this five guys location for the first time. We ordered a bacon cheeseburger a little bacon cheeseburger and a little cheeseburger. They charge an extra $2 for bacon. The bacon cheeseburger didn't have bacon. The little bacon cheeseburger had like 2 pieces of bacon. The little cheeseburger was dry and over cooked. We also ordered 3 drinks. We spent about $45 for the whole meal and it didn't come with fries. Overall, i was pretty disappointed because of how little we got and how much we paid. That's good news though, as it fills a niche in this shopping center's restaurant offerings. The staff is good-natured, the peanuts are plentiful, and the burgers are fresh and delicious. There's ample seating inside in front of the counter (drinks/restrooms are around to the right), and there are a few tables with umbrellas set up outside on the sidewalk, which are perfect for a pretty fall day. At Five Guys they offer hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hotdogs, and grill cheeses. Although the food doesn't look the best in the pictures, Five Guys is a really good restaurant. In my opinion, it is a little expensive for what you get which is why I gave it 4/5 stars. This restaurant usually offers dine in, curbside, delivery, and take out but due to Covid-19 I don't think they allow customers to sit inside at the moment. Me and my boyfriend chose to order online and get take out from here for dinner. Our food was really hot and we only waited about 10-15 minutes for the food. Each employee was wearing gloves, hats, masks, and aprons. There was also an employee cleaning when we went inside. Therefore, I think this restaurant follows all covid protocols correctly and seems very clean. Although Five guys uses mostly paper products I do not think they recycle. Therefore if they would include recycling in their restaurants they could eliminate a lot of waste in their restaurants. Like most restaurants they also use plastic straws. read more

I have gain an appreciation for fast casual, especially top notch burger spots as this one. Anytime I come here, I always order a cheeseburger with mayo and grilled onions to go because I'm not a fan of ketchup and mustard that much. Nonetheless, my food is always hot and made to order. I love the open and retro atmosphere because as you can see the cooks prepare your food, plus they play music that reflects the juke joint time era. Not to mention, their buns (I love bread) are superb. And the fries are delicious as well, especially when their hot but when they get cold, their not so good, just like with any fries in my opinion. They also have a good selection of Coca-Cola beverages as well. Furthermore, their sustainability efforts are good because they used paper bags and cups and aluminum foil to wrapped the burger instead of plastic. And I am grateful that employees are practicing good COVID-19 precautions by wearing gloves, mask, and implementing the option to curbside order. read more

Best burger? Maybe, maybe not...but it definitely is good (even if they believe their own hype). Portion sizes are more than adequate. Even the so-called "little" Cajun fries might be more than one person should prudently consume. Bring a friend and share. And good heavens at all the napkins I use here....maybe one day I'll learn that less is more when it comes to Five Guys burger toppings. Even the music helps with the digestion process. Stopped in today to eat about 2:45 p.m. and there was no one in this place. I mean no one at all.. I tapped on the counter and even called out and no one was there to serve you. Thought the place was open but guess not. Interesting to me that Five Guys would leave the doors unlocked with no one there to help you. May stop on my way back and just help myself to some fries.. Unbelievable and when I called to complain, they told me to come back by for a free meal. Why would i go back to that location after a bad experience.
