This location is closest to my job and I had a great experience here. I ordered the Cheeseburger with fries and it was delicious. Me and my waistline must confess, this isn't our first time in five guys. But this was my first time at this location. I loved the soft sesame seed buns and because I ordered the Cheeseburger, it's two hand-formed patties. Which are grilled to order and it was a little messy but oh so good. Worst veggie sandwich EVER!! Do not order this horrifying sandwich. They use the hamburger bun and dead veggies and then drown it in cheese.

I only had 30 minutes for lunch so I did an online order so I could just go and grab it and have it back at work. When I got back and opened my order I discovered that it wasn't what I had ordered. East coast version of In-N-Out Burger. Like someone else mentioned, you get free peanuts while you wait. FREE PEANUTS! And yes, they are held prisoner - you can't take them out of the restaurant lest you profit from this uncommon generosity. Food is prepared in plain view - something I believe should be common practice in all fast food restaurants - and the staff seemingly enjoy working there. We had a very relaxed time while chilling at Five Guys, with new-age soda machines and distinctly Pulp-Fiction feel in the place. The burger was good, lightyears ahead of comparable fast food, but short of most gourmet restaurants. And no, it's not as good as the aforementioned, and legendary In-N-Out. Sorry, I just don't get the BFD with this place. So they give you free extras on the burgers. What is this all you can eat buffet mentality? It's good because more is free? So the portions on a regular order of fries is gigantic. More buffet mentality. Why even have a large size? So there are two patties on the burgers. There might as well be two. I ordered the one patty model and found it severely lacking. The two patty model that the Mr. ordered and I shared is the way to go, the one simply doesn't do the job. So you get appetizer peanuts. A FLAVOR BOMB that the average five guys fool don't know about. If you love flavor you're gonna thank me later. SALT AND ACID enhances flavor. Now here's my secret: - Go to the condiment isle get ketchup fill it up 1/2 the way. Then fill a 1/4 of the container with malt vinegar.Put 10 packets of pepper (TRUST ME) into it and mix thoroughly until the ketchup, malt vinegar, and pepper combine. This five guys is the only one that I've been to that consistently cooks the fries well. The burgers are good, but there is a huge problem with the cooking process. Every time I come in to get burgers the guy on the grill will actually clean the grill while there is food cooking on it. Normally the food is great here but last night I order 1 burger and 1 cheeseburger. Get home and find 2 cheeseburgers. I don't eat cheese so I put it aside and return it today at noon. The guy checks to make sure the burger matches the receipt , but when it comes time for a refund I get a ton of attitude. Finally they give me the refund and tell me next time to call if that happens again. It seems the problem is waiting until the next day. If i get up, drive round trip to 5 guys before realizing they got the order right maybe i am not in the mood to drive back and forth again. I tell them next time get the order right. For me, there is the holy trinity of burgers made up of Shake Shack, In-N-Out, and Five Guys. My personal rankings put Five Guys at 3rd, but after a length convo with my husband, we decided that Five Guys fits a totally different need than a Shake Shack of an In-N-Out. The have a no frills approach to the burger and it is large and in charge. So so good. Their fries are the best of the big 3 in my opinion and they certainly don't skimp. Equally greasy and good and the perfect complement to the burger you just wolfed down. The milkshake? Ehh...I appreciated their attempt into the dessert category, but it just missed the mark. I felt that it was on the level of a McDonald's milkshake, which is good, don't get me wrong. But the fact that I put it in the freezer and saved it for later should say something. I ALWAYS finish a milkshake, even after consuming 2000+ calories worth of red meat and potato (LAY OFF MY I'M STARVING, ok?) This location is ALWAYS busy. While I was there to put in my order I saw that you could order online and a few customers had taken advantage of that. Will definitely do it that way so avoid any han-gry encounters. I forgot who first introduced me to this place, but I owe them big time. Very limited selection, but it's supposed to be a burger joint. Burgers, hot dogs, grilled cheese, french fries. I'm a sucker for their bacon cheese dogs, definitely try one...you won't be sorry. Their grilled cheese is also pretty unremarkable! I learned that their smaller burger is more of a normal sized burger, but that doesn't stop me from getting their regular sized burger. The first time having a Five Guys bacon burger is kind of like falling asleep after an all nighter. Soothing and satisfying. So I remember when my buddies pulled me from Westchester to drive across the tappan zee bridge to this busy joint on a Friday night. Nearly every table was full and it was quite noisy. The cashiers are amiable and the cooks sure look like they know what they were doing. It was a pretty long wait for the cajun fries and the burger itself (10 mins), but I dismissed that on part of the heavenly smell in the restaurant. The cajun fries came all jumbled in a brown paper bag, so my natural reaction was to start plucking each mushy piece out. The fries had enough spice in them, but the texture wasn't so great. Everything here isn't healthy of course, but what's the point of missing out on junk food? You're going to die anyways. =) I unwrap. I bite. I go 'hawly hell, this is da best burga evar' with a set of teeth gilded in cheese and bacon. Best burger chain in existence. The burgers are cooked fresh while you wait. The regular burgers come with two patties, which I thought might be too much meat but they are cooked to perfection and I was easily able to polish it off. The "Little" burgers only come with a single patty. I went for the Bacon Cheeseburger with BBQ & Hot Sauce. The fries are also nothing to scoff at. There is a sign at the cash register which informs you where the potatoes you are enjoying were grown. They also have malt vinegar available to douse your fries in. I've been a fan of Five Guys ever since I lived in the DC area, so needless to say I was pleasantly surprised when I saw it pop up near my parents house. The concept is great, go there, order a burger and ask for whatever toppings you want free of charge. Make sure you get an order of Cajun Fries (which are a little salty), but stick with the regular size because even that's big enough to split with another person. Then sit down and grab some complimentary peanuts; do this for all under $10/person. Only reason they don't get a 5th star is because they could use some more sauces/toppings compared to other I've places I've been. read more
