This is my favorite Five Guys. The food is always consistent each time i come here. They give you lots of fries and the burgers are great!

We went here recently as we aren't too far away from the place. Ordered a couple of bacon burgers all the way, a hot dog all the way, and some cajun fries. We both found the meat patties to be lacking in flavor, but the pieces of bacon offset that pretty well and gave it a good crunch. The toppings were well prepared, and the mix goes well with the burgers. However, the burgers were too large to eat without parts falling sloppily all over the place, particularly since the buns were mushy from the juice of the toppings. The hot dog was more reasonably mouth-sized, but the bun suffered the same problem and, despite doing my best to keep the foil around everything I wasn't biting at the moment, everything still fell all apart, and juice got all over the table. This table messiness is a real problem for the place....when we went, it was not very busy, but every single indoor table was messy. We grabbed a stack of napkins from one uncleaned table, and wiped off another table well enough that we could sit there. You get your food in a big greasy bag, and without a plate or a tray, everyone gets their table messy. This would be more acceptable if someone was going around wiping down the tables and chairs frequently, but that was not the case, at least on our visit. So, pretty well-made burgers and good flavor at least in the all the way, but for us, too sloppy to enjoy eating it the way you get it, and the burger patties themselves could use some seasoning. Still, this is a solid place to eat, with plenty of food for the money. It looked like they manage the food prep area safely from what we saw. And to end on a positive note, the counter service was exceptionally polite and friendly. read more

I used to work close by to this location, great burgers, friendly staff. Usually loud when you sit in, but worth sitting outside on one of the benches if its a nice day. Have eaten there 5 times, twice for a big office order that we made online. They are organized and didn't mess up our 10+ burgers with crazy topping arrangements. They always overfill the bag with fries, which is great. Nothing ever soggy even after eating it an hour after the order had been picked up. I would suggest ordering online if you have a big order for the office or a party. read more

Burgers are amazing, as are the fries I always go with the little menu due to their portions being so huge. I could never finish my fries, but I think that's pretty common. This is one of the best 5 guys IMHO. The staff here is always friendly and fast. It's 5 guys so you know its just pure gluttony. I ordered two doubles with cheese LTM and raw onions and then another of the same with bacon and large fries(no I did not eat all of this). Easily the best, home-style burgers around. The regular burgers are double patty and can fill you up before you even get to the fries. The fries...we found twice as many fries in the bottom of our bag than we found in our cup! One order could have fed three of us! Though the parking isn't always easy, Five Guys is a must visit place in western New Haven. read more

Three stars....what can I say I am fan of this place. Good burgers great fries and even better portions. I really only go when I am in the mood to fulfill my future heart attack. The peanut oil defiantly sets it apart from the rest. It is really nice to see signs showing where there potatoes come from. I've been to this establishment many times on trips back and forth from Boston to NYC and it's never been bad or have I experienced bad or substandard service. Good food, great people. read more

So, after years of great burgers and service, my wife and I went in this evening for burgers. The music was SO LOUD that the order taker had to ask me to repeat everything I said. After finally getting the order in, my wife asked if the music could be turned down. "Absolutely" was the response. The volume was never lowered. We actually saw another customer ask them to lower the volume. Same response. The music was never turned down. I love good music in a restaurant; I don't like to scream at my wife (or the order taker). Very unpleasant visit. read more

Very disappointed with this location since mid August. New management has replaced every good employee that used to work there. Now the place is chronically disorganized, and the floors are always a greasy mess. Be careful when you walk in, as the carpet runners slide all over the place when you walk on them. The large fries priced at $5.00 used to provide a generous helping for the money - no more.... Management told me that the helpings of fries will be smaller. The cooks stick the spatula into the patties to see if they're done, and often break them apart. The toppings are thrown on sloppily. It's too bad. I work at a large office in the area, and we used to eat there frequently. I hope that they get their act together soon. read more

The burgers are always spot on with toppings galore. A regular fry feeds about 3 people. The staff is friendly and always has a smile on their face. It is a little pricy though, about 12$ for a burger and fries without a drink. If you got the money and are in the mood for a great burger and fries, 5 Guys is the spot. read more

My second visit to Five Guys (first one in Orange). The burger was poorly made. The grill cook was obviously new and had cut into the burger to check its doneness... it was in 2 pieces. The person who assembled the "extra toppings" was sloppy too. The lettuce was 80% off the bun, the bun was askew and barely toasted . Perhaps this was the time of day... it was around 2:30 PM and not "rush hour". On the other hand fries were excellent and one of the staff was meticulously cleaning the floors and tables after lunch service. $9.12 for a single burger, fries and medium soda. These guys are just good people. The big white guy that always seems to be there gives off the most pleasant vibes as soon as you walk in. He greets every customer with a genuine welcome as if they are the last customer saving the store. He does this regardless if it's packed wall-to-wall or completely empty like it was today. When it is empty, he finds time to chat with customers and ask them about their day as the good cooks. Everyone else is just as friendly, however they are not as talkative. The only negative thing I have to say about the restaurant is that no one wears name-tags, so they can't really get the proper, personal recognition from customers that they deserve.
