I came in for a door dash pick up order. I haven't eaten all day and was insanely hangry. Brian (total superstar) had my order ready and when I said I didn't think I got a fair load of fries, he looked and thought I could get some more. In the fast food burger wars, Five Guys ranks very close to the top of my list. Their fries are great and don't forget about the bacon cheese hot dog either. I noticed some of the reviews mention them being closed all the time and I remember that. I tried to go a couple times and saw the same sign that they had a staffing issue and would re-open later, but then just stayed closed it seems for weeks. I've been in since and it seems they've gotten everything back in order. The place was super clean, staff was friendly, and service was quick. I ordered and paid for a small bacon cheeseburger with an extra meat patty. I picked up my food (covid) but when I got home there was only 1 patty on my burger. The tag on the outside of the bag showed that an extra patty was ordered. I called the restaurant as soon as I discovered the mistake and was told a manager would be right with me. Hadn't been to Five Guys in a while, though I used to frequent the downtown location. Won't be going back anytime soon. Ordered a burger and soda (no fries or add-one), then was prompted to add a tip. Ended up costing over $18. I'm all for the folks working there getting paid, but not when the business wants to pass that off as an additional expense on the customer who's already paying out the nose. Even without the tip, the burger and soda alone were over $16. The burger is good, but it's not THAT good. BTW - they were out of the soda I thought purchased so I had to improvise. Great burgers if you're earning six figures. Otherwise, save your money. read more

Took my daughter to this five guys while we were staying in town over night for a quick meal. We eat at five guys every few months or so, we are familiar with the chain. This locations food was on point. Everything cooked perfect, and they gave us lots of extra bag fries. Both the lady who took our order and the one who gave us our food were kind, and friendly. The dining area was clean and all condiments, silverware, and napkins were fully stocked and ready to go. My only issue is price, I know everything is more expensive these days however $40 for a kids burger, one bacon burger, two small drinks and a shared French fry seems a bit steep. You get a lot of burger and fries for your money, but expect a meal to run between $11-16 on average... which is a lot of money for a fast food spot. Considering that a few bucks more gets you a burger and drink at Ruth's Chris, and maybe even Halls downtown. All that said, "price" is not usually a reason someone goes to places like 5 G's (or even Burger 21/Smashburger/etc). You go for great food and a tasty burger. I use the app most times, or order online. When you get there, you DO have to check in, so you still don't get a chance to avoid the line. They don't make the burger until you get there, so that defeats the purpose of using call ahead features especially when you are trying to avoid the lunch rush. read more

The Five Guys at Center Point is very poorly run. Seems there are 2 crews, one that does all the work and one that does mostly nothing. We arrived at 11:15 for lunch and waited almost 5 minutes to have our order taken, while two 5-Guys employees ate their lunch. I am not sure why they are having lunch during lunch time after the store just opened. Kudos to the other empoyees that stepped up and proactively asked how many patties so they could start getting things made. The other crew hustled and I give worthy praise to their effort. Also, a maintenance person came from the backroom and walked through the food prep area with caulk guns while we were eating. Just went to 5 guys at the Tanger outlet for a nice burger. Was greeted at the register by a most pleasant cashier and a nice clean restaurant. Got our food and thoroughly enjoyed the great quality hamburger and price that 5 guys offers. The small fry was plenty for the 3 of us and getting all the great toppings like grilled mushrooms, grilled onions, bell pepper, lettuce, tomato and ketchup made for a delicious burger. The small burger is actually plenty for me and I weigh 215 pounds. I spoke to Brian the manager to let him know that I found his employees to be extremely pleasant and the food quite good. The kids wanted Five Guys, so I went down to the one in West Ashley. Permanently closed! Boo! So I drove up here to this location. The staff is friendly, the restaurant and bathrooms are clean. The food is tasty! They quickly gave me a side of mayonnaise that I requested (for our French fries!). There was not a long wait to have my order taken or to receive our food, even though the restaurant was fairly busy. There was a fella walking around wiping down all the tables and chairs and wall areas of the restaurant. I like when I can see the staff cleaning, it reassures me that the kitchen is also well-maintained! I like Five Guys. They are a tad pricy for fast food, but since they use all fresh ingredients, it's worth it. I'll definitely be back to this location! read more

Sometimes it's a good idea to gorge on a greasy burger and fries. If that's the case for you, Five Guys is a good go to. They have burgers with two patties or little burgers with a single patty, hotdogs, grilled cheese, BLT and of course, French fries! Chad got the cheeseburger all the way minus pickles (mayo, lettuce, tomato, grilled mushrooms, grilled onions, ketchup and mustard). I got the plain hotdog with grilled onions. Sadly they were out of jalapeños when we were there. The cashier was extremely friendly and got our order in quickly and correctly. Since they were short staffed, she then pitched in with compiling orders. We had to wait about 15 minutes for our food but at least it was hot and fresh after the wait. While we were eating, more workers came in and it seemed like the wait wasn't as long for the waiting customers. FI've Guys food is usually very good and service usually the same. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for this location. Food was fine, but slow. Impossible to hear what they are saying because of masks (mostly incorrectly)although they were behind plexiglas. The worst part is this location does not allow you to dine-in yet you can make drinks, dig thru lids, scoop peanuts etc.. and everyone was sitting at the "closed tables" eating nuts and waiting for food. If a place wants to keep using covid as an excuse that's ok but at least do it all right or don't do it at all. Okay I had high hopes for this place ever since I heard "Oh my Dayum!" by YouTube food critic Daym Drops a few years ago praising Five Guys by song. However , I was not impressed with my experience. It was just disappointing all the way around. So, it's a super casual place- essentially very expensive fast food. You place your order at the counter, they call your number and you pick it up . I ordered the little bacon burger ( little meaning one patty instead of two) with Cajun fries. Everything is a la carte so there are no combos. So for the little bacon burger, fries and small/regular drink it was $13. Which would have been okay , had the quality of food reflected that price. Sadly, it did not ! The burger was mediocre at best- it lacked seasoning and flavor. I guess they rely on all the toppings to distract from the weak patty. You can order all the toppings you want - for no extra charge they promote. The dining area is decorated with all these signs highlighting all the restaurant's accolades - best burger, best fries etc. The dates on these signs are from like ten years ago so either something changed in those years or they have a very talented publicist. The fries are okay. They give you a lot so if you love fries , you will appreciate this. Their ketchup machine was out and after I let them know and they confirmed it was out , I guess they didn't feel like refilling it because they never did while we were dining there. They just gave us a few packets of ketchup . For $13 I want that ketchup machine refilled and working! I also felt like they took a long time to prepare our order. Also, everything is prepared "to go" style which means they throw everything in a brown bag which has grease stains on it from the mounds of fries. It's a mess. Even Burger King and McDonald's have trays for guests choosing to dine in . Five guys certainly has a great schtick- gourmet prices for a less than "fast food" experience. The bacon cheeseburger and cajun fries tasted fantastic. I had my food about 4 minutes after ordering and there was no line at 11:30am on a Thursday. While I can appreciate that the juiciness and flavor of the burger is in part due to grease, the mess factor is significant. I found that the relatively thin bun was soaked through and flopping down, making it a little challenging to eat. I also felt that if I put the burger down, I would not be able to pick it back up without causing a small explosion of toppings all over the table. And even though I liked the flavor and consistency of the fries, I was put off by the fact that I had to literally dig through them to pull the burger out of the bag. I believe this is done purposefully, perhaps to be distinctive, but it's annoying. I shouldn't feel the need to eat my way down into the bag to pull out the burger, which is the highlight of the meal. After finishing the burger, which I ate quickly because of a combination of the fear of losing all the toppings and the fact that it tasted great, I moved on to the fries that weren't already consumed during the digging phase of my meal. My hands got VERY messy, VERY quickly. I believe the cajun seasoning is stuck to the fries with a flavorless epoxy that is resistant to napkins. Furthermore, as I write this, I'm feeling like I ate a brick based on how heavily it is sitting in my stomach. I think I need to take a nap after I wash my hands a dozen times. Great taste, friendly service, clean restaurant, but extremely messy and I'll probably be digesting for a fortnight. Finally, I was not mentally transported to the potato field from whence my fries came as one reviewer suggested I might be - if that potato field had some wet naps it would have been a welcome journey. read more

What's not to love about Five Guys?? There aren't many options on their menu which works in their favor. It allows them to focus on the meat and potatoes of the business. Literally. The burgers are great, and the fries are excellent! I've seen many people complain about the price. I don't understand why. Paying about $9 bucks for a full meal is what you'll do even at most fast food places these days(if you're getting their deluxe combos and such). Also, the quality is far beyond what you'll get at your local fast food restaurants. Fresh ground beef accompanied by fresh toppings(which there are many of) with the french fries treated in the same manner. There's even a sign that tells exactly where the potatoes of the day came from. The service is super fast. This makes Five Guys the ideal lunch spot. It's even good for the occasional inexpensive dinner. The burgers are juicy and adequately messy. The best burgers are the messiest(seems to be a lot of whining surrounding this matter)! They leave the fries in the bottom of the brown bag your food comes in. Do yourself a favor. Leave them in there, pour some malt vinegar in, and shake it around. Delicious! The next time you're thinking of making a fast food stop hit Five Guys instead. read more

Okay this review is more for service because truthfully if I want a good burger, I don't go to Five Guys. My daughter and her friend had never eaten at Five Guys so I decided to take them. The cashier was friendly, took our orders correctly, we received them in a timely manner. The burgers were a-ok, my friend's daughter ordered a hot dog and said it was stellar. The fries, as usual, were my favorite part. Plentiful and tasty!! At first she called our number off wrong and gave our food to the wrong person, and then tried to give us someone else's order! When we noticed we asked for our food and waited another 10 minutes!
