So I scanned some of the other reviews before choosing to write this. I noticed one person had nothing but terrible things to say about the online ordering service. I can say I've used it 3 times in the last 3 weeks and have had NO issue at all. All my stuff was correct, on time, and ready to go. As well as someone said the floors were dirty??? The only thing I've ever seen on the floors is peanut shells, and that's just the charm of FiveGuys. FiveGuys and Texas Roadhouse does the same thing. You throw peanut shells on the floor. They use the natural oils to help with their floors. It's not for everyone, but it doesn't do anything to your shoes, so really why complain? ANYWAYS. Beyond that, the food is always made when you order it, fresh, hot, and I've never had anything made incorrectly. Their fries portion sizes are out of this world, and my boyfriend and I can never even finish a 'regular' between the two of us. A little pricey, but at least the food tastes real, not frozen or flash cooked or anything like that. The vegetables used actually taste fresh as well. Came here on Sunday (2 days ago) with an online order. Got home and burgers were not made per specification. Called management to arrange for two burgers to be picked up later to compensate. Came today in person to get them and they still made one of the burgers wrong (ordered single with ketchup and mushrooms, burger came with bacon and hardly any mushrooms). On top of that, the fries were limp and greasy, probably sat too long. We won't be back -- eat here at your own peril. They used to be good. Don't know what happened. read more

Hmm? I'm sorry- what was that? I couldn't hear you because I just came from Five Guys. You see, I went in for a quick lunch, not realizing it would cost me my hearing for the next few hours.... Okay, seriously folks. It's loud in there, am I right? Certainly not the loudest in Tri Cities- (that dubious honor is a tie between Costa Vida and the Texas Roadhouse.) But it's a close 3rd place, I think... So much yelling! Here's the good part. This was my very first visit ever to a Five Guys and I loved being able to have as many toppings as I wanted for free! I eat at the Richland Five Guys, on a regular basis. Overall, I love these burgers and fries. I am a burger connoisseur, and try out new places all the time. I keep a running list of favorites. Five Guys is on my list! For the most part, Five Guys quality has been consistent. The ingredients seem fresh, and the meat is REAL! Those hand cut fresh fries are Awesome! I like that the staff is up, positive, and eager to provide great service. I have never left this restaurant needing another meal that day. You are talking FULL. Worth the carb overload, for sure! The only negative concerns I have is it is rather expensive, the loud music and noise is unbearable, and the noise the chairs make while being moved is ear screeching. I am surprised nobody else has mentioned that in their reviews. Chair leg noise suppressors are available, and easy to put on? It is almost impossible to walk through the dining area at times. People get in your way, and are about sitting on your lap. Seating is too limited - what poor planning. Why they have such crappy tables and chairs is a wonderment. None are level. I usually have to make my own matchbook adjustments, so I am not driven crazy with the wobbly tables and chairs. The overall design, layout, and acoustics, are poor at best. I have solved that by eating in my car, or taking the food home to eat. While I prefer to eat a sloppy burger in the restaurant, the experience can give one a headache. read more

I have tried to work with these guys but their inability to get the order right has finally reached my limit. I have complained and still the order is wrong the next time. Tonight I asked my husband to verify before bringing it home, but since they brought it to the car he didn't and it was wrong again. They put cheese on orders that have "No cheese", didn't put grilled onions on the sandwich that called for it and on it goes. I will not eat their cheese so once again I was without a dinner due to their screwup. This was the 4th or 5th time over the past year. I've complained 3x to them directly. A minor issue is they are also mislabeling the sandwiches. They put #1 on the sandwich that was #5 on the order and so forth. While it seems minor it is all part of their lack of attention to detail. I can't review on the service, the cleanliness or anything like that, only the food. My friends went out and got dinner and brought me home something. Just a basic cheeseburger. Oh my god! I love burgers and have gotten many over the years and that has to be the best one I have ever eaten. I took a whole 15 - 20 minutes eating it because I wanted to savor it and this is coming from a girl who will down burger in less than two minutes on a normal day. But this burger made me slow down and really enjoy it. I was sad, despite being stuffed, when it was gone. The burger was all I had from them but I am dying to go back and try something else. Great food and burgers but when I went there , the music was playing sooo loud and since everyone had to wear a mask it was very hard to hear and order. I literally had to yell my order to the employee. Employees had to yell as well to talk to each other. It was also hard to tell order apart when they called them because the music was blaring on top of a muffled sound because of the masks. My friend heard that you could "never get in because of long lines." We decided to go at 11:00 AM on a Saturday, and we got right in! It got very crowded around noon, with a long line. If you order a burger, there are two options: BIG burger and LITTLE Burger (and each option has choice of one with cheese and one with bacon and cheese). BIG burger has two patties. LITTLE burger has one patty. My friend warned me that ordering BIG burger WITH french fries was going to be a bit much. My friend was right. I couldn't eat the fries after having the BIG burger. The fries weren't bad, definitely better than fast food as another review noted, but not the best I've ever had. So, why am I awarding three stars instead of five? 1. I ordered Barbecue sauce ON THE SIDE, and it was written on my receipt. But did I get any? NOPE! 2. When they put the burger in the bag, they buried it under the fries, and I had to dig through all the fries, which were in a small cup too small to hold all the fries, to get to the burger. While trying to dig through the fries to get my burger, I managed to rip apart the foil wrap, so I could not use the foil wrap to hold the burger while I ate it. I made a big mess on the table trying to eat the burger. 3. My friend ordered a BLT. They put cheese on the BLT without asking my friend if he wanted cheese on the BLT. My friend said having the cheese melted on the BLT would have been better than having it cold on the BLT but it was put cold on the BLT without asking my friend if that's how he wanted it. On the other hand, they give you 26 napkins with your meal (ok, I slightly exaggerate.....). Good thing, because you will need the 26 napkins. The tables are pretty close together so if it gets crowded, it will be noisy. They have a combination of tall stools/tables or regular chairs/tables. Good place for a great burger, but I wouldn't want to go there every day...... I am going to say "no" to "good for groups" because of it's "fast food" atmosphere. We went on opening day, and haven't had a chance to go back so my one issue hopefully has been resolved. The burgers are awesome. Tastes like a real, home grilled BBQ ed burger. Fresh and toppings set the way you want with a TON of choices and configurations. Coke machine uses the new drink builder dispensers so there are over 100 combinations, and it was interesting Only complaint was fries. They were delicious, and a big order for a regular. Issue was the salt. They were coated and way too much. So to begin with, I will admit it's a good fast food burger. Not the greatest I have ever tried, but good. Fries were way above par for fast food. But here comes my catch, the first time I went there, we waited 1/2 hour and were still maybe 60 people behind just to order (honestly), so we left. Second time we saw the line was to the door with maybe another 50 people waiting just to get their food so we didn't even wait. The third time, the wait was approximately 20 minutes so we waited and I finally got to try their food. Like I said, it was a good fast food burger, but fast it was not. Lunch on the flight deck of an aircraft carrier would be an intimate affair in comparison. Best fast food burger in town. This is a well run establishment. They are timely during busy hours and the quality is consistently high. The portions of fries are huge. Do you enjoy the spice? Add the Cajun seasoning for the kick you are looking for. I think it is cool that they use fairly local farms as their potato supplier. They will write it up on the wall so you know where your fires come from. My burger recommendation bacon cheeseburger add jalapeno, mayo, grilled onion, and BBQ sauce. Being from Virginia, I have been visiting 5 Guys since 2003. While the burger was the normal, top notch fare, the fries were another story. Five Guys...The outside sign does not tell you what it is...Five Guys Hair Cuts, Five Guys Car Parts. Of course, I know what it is by the hype in the media, but I think it would be nice to have what they do on their sign!! Upon entering the door, I was blasted with frenetic music that was way too loud. (Read about noise and digestion on Google-not good!) The place looked messy right off with everyone throwing peanut shells (and napkins) on the floor. All the workers behind the counter were buzzing around, either from drinking too many caffiene products from the soda machine and/or from listening to the loud music. They yelled out the order numbers over the loud music. Great...noise over noise!! Okay now for the food. The cheeseburger was tasty, but too juicy as it ran out of the burger down your arm with every bite. The fries were hand cut (good) but needed more seasoning. With fries, you would think they would have their own 'special' fry sauce. No...I had to mix mayo and ketchup together at my table with a fork. The 'Kosher Style' hot dog with grilled nicely and had good seasoning but is it actually 'kosher'...or just a play on words at 'kosher style'?? So me and boys were trying to decide on whether we should head to Zips or Five Guys, well we decided why the hell not let's check out Five Guys.... Sadly we were very disappointed. Where should I start... the customer service terrible.. First of all they made all our burgers and then dropped one so while they made a new burger for the dropped they just let the other burgers sit there in the cold.. We used to live in Virginia where this place got its start. I think it's interesting that previous reviewers docked stars because of something like "they couldn't figure out the soda machine." The soda machine isn't made by Five Guys, and the fact that you can't figure it out isn't their fault. These new machines are very cool and give you a quantity of options that simply aren't possible with the older standard soda machines. I personally think they are great, but my review isn't based on whether I'm smart enough to figure out the soda machine. Personally, I wish they had chosen to go with Pepsi instead of the McDonald's brand, but I'm not going to dock them stars for it. I've really grown to love Five Guys. I couldn't eat there everyday, or even more than once a week, but I feel that way about every restaurant. I really like knowing that all of their ingredients are fresh and that I am getting a quality product. I also love their hot dogs, I know one reviewer said her kid didn't like it because it was cut down the middle and grilled... hmmm, well I'm sorry she's taught her kid to prefer a boiled hotdog, but I personally like mine to have some grill flavor. Plus, I like that I can order everything on it just like the burgers. I do think it is a little pricier than it should be in comparison to their burgers... I mean a hotdog costs almost nothing compared to fresh hamburger meat. I also laughed when I read a reviewer talk about choosing between Red Robin and Five Guys... Wow! I don't hate Red Robin, but I'm not blind to the fact that they get all of their meats frozen from Sysco, and the burger itself couldn't be of cheaper quality... They just drown all of their burgers in different sauces to cover up the poor quality of the meat. There's just no comparison when it comes to quality of ingredients. It also might be worth noting that people who think Five Guys is expensive (and yes, it isn't the McDonald's "Dollar Menu", which doesn't really have much for a dollar anyway) need to remember that a highly processed frozen circle of Sysco meat from Red Robin will cost you $10.50 with fries... and you still have to leave a tip on top of that. If Five Guys ever decided to make a "Teriyaki Burger" with pineapple slices, $6 would be a bargain in comparison. Anyway, I also like knowing that whenever I go into a Five Guys that I can count on a consistent product... at least for everything except the fries. When it comes to the fries, they have always been hit or miss. Most people who think they are too greasy probably don't know that they soak them in water, and so it's not that the fries are too greasy when they are limp, it's that they are too wet. I think that when Five Guys fries are fully cooked and are slightly crispy on the outside, they are second to none... however, when they aren't I throw most of them away. My last comment has to do with the noise and peanut shells all over the floor. When we lived in Virginia, Five Guys was never noisy, even when it was crowded, so this is actually a reflection of people in the try-cities area being unable to realize they are being obnoxiously loud. The other is that I've noticed that as Five Guys has expanded across the US, that some people thin that "free peanuts" also means "I can throw the shells all over the floor and make a huge mess". Again, this is a reflection of the customers in that area, not Five Guys. Actually, my real last comment is about people labeling Five Guys as "fast food" and then turning around and saying they were a little slow. They are somewhere in between, because true "fast-food" restaurants don't make every customers food "to order." True "fast-food" restaurants have heat lamps, etc. and that's why those can have a drive through. Bottom line is, there are very few nationwide chains that you can walk into and pretty much know you are going to get a meal made with quality ingredients (Chipotle and Cracker Barrel are some others) for a decent price. As a person who travels quite a bit, I really appreciate that I can find them in a growing number of places. read more

3rd Update (first review: 5 stars, second review: 1 star, this review: 1 star): The regional manager was in contact with me after my corporate complaint. He had the store manager mail me a gift card for $40 so we could give them another try, risk-free. While I appreciate this gesture, we were still extremely disappointed to try them again and find that none of our problems were fixed. As a result, this particular Five Guys restaurant will never get our business again. The deets: We waited about four months to try them again, hoping they'd have enough time to resolve their issues. I placed the order online and my husband picked it up (btw, you can't use gift cards for online orders). He did not check it before leaving (even though I asked him to, but I digress). When he got home, just like the last several times we bought food here, we noticed that none of the items had the bacon we paid for and many toppings ordered were not included. My husband's burger was burned. I have never had issues like this with a restaurant, but I guess it's my fault for coming back time and time again. How is it that every...single...time I order from this place, they get it wrong every time? Maybe they saw the name on the order matched the name on my last review and they were just effing with me. Who knows? All I know is we will never be trying this crapshoot again. I gave the $40 gift card to a family member and am washing my hands of this place. Good riddance. read more
