I had to try this place after hearing so much about it! I got the burger deluxe w cheese and the onion rings. The burger diameter is a bit larger than you'd expect from your typical carry-out drive in burger, and was a seeded sesame bun. The patty was well done and decently juicy - it seemed good but I feel like it's more for the nostalgic vibes and something about it gives comforting cafeteria/drive in feels over say, a high-end burger or thick patty. Toppings were fresh and the special sauce is pretty good. The onion rings were amazing! I can see what the fuss is about. It's a thick, crunchy coating that absorbs the umami and onion aroma from big, juicy onion rings and a light dusting of peppery kick. They stayed crispy over the course of an hour too. The food was tasty, the whole group left satisfied! For personal preference, I wish the patties were thicker - I'd do the double deluxe next time since I like more meat in my burger, but the flavors were all good. Great traditional burger spot! Stepped into this spot for dinner and it gave me traditional diner vibes and it was a nice change from several modern burger spots. While there wasnt much of a line or a lot of people dining in, they seemed pretty backed up with orders mainly due to to go orders. Friendly staff though! I like to try the baseline burger whenever I go to a new spot and so I got the double deluxe burger and fries. The fries were nice and crisp and had the peel on them which I do enjoy. The deluxe burger was a good size with plenty of toppings and a great bun to hold in all the delicious flavors! I would get less sauce/mayo next time as I feel it was too much sauce in my opinion, but otherwise good flavor. I would want to try one of their unique burger options next time, such as with the chile peppers or mushrooms! First off, maybe a bad idea to swing by on a Friday night. A sign to the great reputation Red Mill has, but the line was out the door for the entire hour we were around the restaurant. With a small dining room, it was a little uncomfortable waiting for our food and jostling around. I ordered the Double Bacon Deluxe w/ cheese. My wife and I split the fries and onion rings sides as well. The portions are huge and had great flavor. The burger patties were a little undercooked, so that took away from the meal a bit. Surprise hit, the onion rings. Not sure what it is, but the breading makes them so crispy. Overall, I've heard many stories about Red Mill being a great neighborhood spot. My experience did not live up to that, but I would definitely return to give it another chance. Might have to go back just for the onion rings. read more

We love burgers and we keep coming back to Red Mill again and again for our craving for the classic American juicy burgers. They are consistently excellent in taste and continue to part of the definition of what a good fire-grilled burgers should be. Even after trying other wonderful burgers that we enjoy, we still come back to Red Mill for the classic taste and Red Mill has a special place in our heart in taste buds. Service is quick and friendly. It is also easy to order online via Toast for pick up. Online orders are disabled from time to time, probably because of their capacity as they are usually packed in the restaurant. In that case, we simply come into the restaurant and order. Parking is tight because lot is on the smaller side but it's also because they are almost always busy with other burger lovers like us. Very family and pet-friendly. Rolled up here on a weekday, parking easy for a truck to get into, they have a good sized lot. Staff was very welcoming! Sit down area was decent size with booths or table/chairs to pick from. The burgers are the perfect size. Very tasty. We tried all the sides and equally loved them all! The tartar sauce and ranch is homemade and both again were equally good. I kept pouring ranch all over my fried jalapeño burger (special of the month). Also tried their Marion-berry milkshake it wasn't on the thick side and easy to sip thru a straw. The only thing we weren't loving was the fresh real squeezed lemonade, it was just like drinking a sour lemon, it had no sweetness and honestly we threw most of it away. Arriving at the Red Mill Burgers in Phinney Ridge/Green Lake about five minutes before opening today, Wednesday 16 August 2023, I was the third car in the parking lot. By the time the restaurant opened, there was a small line out front. Ordering was straightforward, and I had enough time to look over the menu and decide on what I wanted by the time it was my turn to place my order. While the interior of the restaurant was climate controlled, nice on a hot summer day, the music was loud for my ears, so I decided to order to-go. I went with a red onion jam burger, side of onion rings, and a white chocolate milkshake. There was a bar/counter for those of us who were waiting, with tall stools we could sit on. The wait was not too long and the food was hot. Workers I interacted with were friendly. For the burger, the flavors were more on the subtle side, the bun soft, patty juicy, and caramelized onions well tenderized. None of the components were overwhelming. While the onion rings were crispy and had thick onion slices, the flavor I found familiar. In finishing the rings, I identified the flavor as similar to focaccia bread. While I like focaccia bread, it was not quite the flavor I was expecting for onion rings. My third item, the white chocolate milkshake, was perfect. It took us around 20 mins to get our burger and fries, but they warned us it might take a bit. Overall, the burger was solid! We didn't get a double, so I do think the bun to patty ratio was a little off. I felt like I couldn't really taste the patty, but I think it would be good with a double. I was mostly impressed with how fresh the other burger fixings were! The lettuce, tomatoes, and onions all seemed super fresh and clean and not wilt-y like most other burger spots. Horrible customer service It's been more than 45 minutes- still no food. There were at least 8 groups after us that received their order first. After approaching the counter they stated that it would be 5 more minutes, then 5 more minutes and another until it continued. The staff did not care about messing with our order.
