Both wieners were nicely grilled, had char marks and the toppings of grilled onions and kraut were delicious as well. In addition, we tried the grilled chicken sandwich as well as the club sandwich. Both tasted good as well and you could tell that all the ingredients were very fresh. The spot itself is small and is a part of an outdoor mall, but they have very cozy, rustic seating outside, with wooden tables/booths. The whole place has great energy about it. Would definitely come back again.

Dog Haus is known as an American craft-casual restaurant that's famous for their gourmet hot dogs and sausages all served on Hawaiian bread rolls. However, the new menu eliminated a good amount of their reputation! They sell smash burgers and grilled chicken, but it's called Dog Haus. The menu no longer has items like the spicy Italian, smoked apple sooo veggie sausage, chicken-mozzarella, and curried Thai Fighter wurst. Now, they highlight their normal hot dog and pork sausage - that's it. They used to sell their gourmet and different flavor combination sausages and bratwurst, but now they don't. It's turned into a restaurant like Sonic (but without the fun desserts and drinks) and Shake Shack (but at least Shake Shack has shakes.) They lost their uniqueness. Other than the company decision, which was probably the wurst business move, they also did not communicate clear enough to their employees because everyone at this location seemed to be over it. The guy at the cash register was incredibly annoyed that we didn't automatically understand that onion rings obviously aren't on the menu like before and onion strings are the new thing and what the differences are. We're sad because we really liked this restaurant and location, but it's not worth the food that's now pretty basic at most other American restaurants. Having smash burgers as a hot-dog place vs. selling hit smash burgers at somewhere like Fat Sal's where they're known for that is a bit different. Additionally, the customer service was NOT it. I asked for a water cup and was very disappointed to see that even after running the water for a few seconds, the water was still pink and not clear. When we got our food, our onion rings now onion strings were one of the saddest "shareables" side on their menu. They were limp, oily, hard to eat, and definitely not the move. We ordered entrees and weren't too impressed now that the dogs were normal, as well. Ambiance wise - they have seating inside, some seating outside, and inside have a tv where things like the FIFA World Cup play on a big screen.

The bacon came as three very greasy, soft slices clumped on one side, and the whole burrito tasted oily and bland. Even after drowning it in salsa and Tabasco, I couldn't finish it. I wouldn't order it again. Many people swear by their burgers and fries, and considering they've been around for over 40 years, they're clearly doing something right. Maybe next time I'll try what they're known for--but the breakfast burrito was a miss for me.

Their fries are pretty unique when it comes to fast food claiming their shapes, like Chick-fil-a with the waffle fries or In-n-Out's style, and are more like a crinkle cut. Shake Shack also sells hot dogs! I feel like this is something they don't promote and haven't promoted as much in recent years, but are slowly leaning more into it. (Please do!) The only thing that was a bit annoying was selling hot dogs, but then not being able to order much on it, like ketchup, mustard, and relish. They had a ketchup dispenser, but then only mustard plastic packets, and NO relish what-so-ever. Question: What do you get when you take In-N-Out and double its prices, double its trendiness, double the amount of hipsters and douchebags hanging out there and litter the floors with a layer of peanut shells? Answer: Five Guys. I'd choose In-N-Out over Five Guys every time. The burger was greasy and bland. So were the fries and on top of that, they were served way too hot and were cut too thick which made them soggy. In fact, the fries were so greasy that they saturated nearly the entire bag in grease even before I got up to the counter and got it. By the time I finished the meal, the grease in the bag made it almost transparent. I'm not the most healthiest person but it did make me sick to my stomach the rest of the day. read more

I am shocked to see any bad reviews. I have been to several 5 guys..Washington D.C, Chicago and New York. If there is one in route we will go there. We were happy when one finally opened up in California, at least near us in Caly. The variety of what you can add on is amazing. They actually cook it right there...fresh and all. You can see them cooking them and the fries are as amazing as the burgers and dogs. I love this place, no matter what City they are consistent. THE GOOD: thick, juicy burgers & fresh (not frozen) fries THE BAD: limp lettuce, limp fries THE UGLY: squashed flat buns BOTTOMLINE: genuine meaty burgers If In-N-Out had thick, juicy burgers (like they used to before they expanded) like Five Guys, I wouldn't be trying Five Guys. Too bad Five Guys doesn't make shakes. Five Guys needs to take a page from In-N-Out on how to ensure crisp lettuce and a non-squashed bun so that the first bite has that fresh taste and sound. Eating a squashed bun is something I might have liked when I was a teenager, but not anymore. Free roasted in-shell peanuts as a snack are a nice touch. read more

It's gotten worse! Wow, I first tried Five Guys in Maryland. I thought it was another bland piece of overcooked meat and fries that were uneven -- the ones cooked all the way were very good, but many were unevenly cooked, some pretty much white and raw. Today, at this new Five Guys, the experience included a hockey puck of a burger and the same issues with the fries. The place promises the burgers "well done" and also "juicy." I don't understand the big war on here between this place and In-n-Out. In-N-Out is a great quick burger, heck I had their truck stop at my wedding after the reception, but Five Guys honestly blows them away. the burgers are big beefy and crazy hot. The french fries aren't even a comparison. Five guys fresh crispy fries are a dream next to In-N-Out's mushy ones. I have to drive 35 miles each way to get to this Five Guys and I still do it about once a week. read more

Really bad burger, even worse was the service. I ordered a cheeseburger with lettuce for a bun and they said ok then later the manager asked me if I was the one that ordered a veggie burger (no meat) I said no I ordered a Burger no bun, he walked away as if it would be fixed. Here, the inside feels cramped, and the outside feels like the outdoor seating at an old-school Burger King, and that's not a good thing. I think this place was going for the feel of the Ventura location, which is also smaller than Camarillo, but Ventura feels just right, and its outdoor seating is inviting. It doesn't help that I came here from the 23 rather than from the 101, so I don't know how this location fits into the flow of what I understand of life and business and shopping and dining in Thousand Oaks. It was definitely busy when I came, and despite my not liking this particular location, I'm glad the business is doing well. I didn't enjoy my potato tacos as much as I did last time. There was too much special sauce, and it was more watery than I remember. Also, the "combo" is a Mexican-restaurant combo, not a fast-food-place combo, so it includes rice and beans but not a drink. Chalk it up to 2026 or whatever, but this place feels very overpriced now. The people working here were kind and efficient. In general, I think this local chain is very well managed, because all the employees I've ever dealt with at all three locations on maybe a half-dozen total visits have been stellar. They keep the inside very clean, including the bathrooms, which are spotless. When I was leaving, I wanted to fill my water bottle with ice, but I didn't want them to think I was stealing soda, so I asked the woman who had taken my order whether that was all right. She said sure and thanked me for asking. Apparently, some teenagers had been bringing in their own cups and sneaking soda when they thought the employees weren't looking.

We are more understanding of higher prices now that that is the norm. I understand that they need to keep up with costs. I've eaten here several times now different times different days different nights for the most part. They're consistent on their service.. Service is the key to your continuous, success, quality of food and cleanliness of your establishment very important and you'll continue to earn my business. But I wanna give a shout out to a young gal by the name of Lindsay, she started in the kitchen and worked her way up to becoming a server and you did a fantastic job and accommodating us. Your smile as you're winning ticket. Good job and developing your people with From within. One of my favorite dishes is the tri-tip barbecue combo which included a half of barbecue chicken tri-tip steam mixed vegetables, mashed potatoes gravy, one of my favorite dishes. An added bonus is that the kitchen staff cuts the tri-tip, right, soft and easy to chew. So great job to the back of the house to the front of the house.
