Lucky's Dog House tucked inside Janss Marketplace in Thousand Oaks is a true old school…read moreestablishment that's been serving the community for over 20 years. Walking up feels like stepping into a 90s time capsule in the best way possible. Classic diner vibes, no frills, just hot dogs, burgers, chicken sandwiches and sides. The owners are incredibly kind and efficient, as everything is cooked fresh to order. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating so I grabbed a table outside to soak up that sunshine. Here's what I ordered: Chili Cheese Dog: (upgraded to the Hebrew National) 10/10. Having tried both of their hotdogs, definitely get the Hebrew National over the regular one. It's bigger and more flavorful in my opinion. This thing was loaded. Flavorful chili, melty cheese, and fresh diced onions, all tucked into a perfectly grilled hot dog roll. This is definitely the dog to get if you're torn between all of the options. Street Dog: A bacon wrapped dog with ketchup, mayo and mustard and veggies (I customized mine a bit so opted out of the onion and jalapeño). If you're a fan of bacon wrapped hot dogs, this is always a solid choice too. Pro tip: These hot dogs are HUGE. I was not prepared. One would've easily done the job so next time I'm just grabbing one and adding a side of onion rings because they looked incredible. Overall a very satisfying lunch for under $20 for two dogs and a soda. Great to have a long standing hotdog restaurant in the 805.

Review of dinner with a friend at Lucky's Dog House…read more The staff was friendly, professional, and polite, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant was clean and well-organized. They offer a great selection of hot dogs, sandwiches, and other comfort food. The food came out promptly, served hot and fresh. I had their Lucky Dog, a classic chili dog with chili, cheese, and onions. I selected the Hebrew National. It was flavorful and satisfying. It sits between a fir & knife dog and a grab it and eat it dog. The fries were simple but good, and my Crush Orange fountain drink was just as expected. They also handled a to-go order for my dad seamlessly while we were eating. It was neatly packed and ready to go without any delay. I've also ordered from Lucky Dog through DoorDash in the past, and that experience was great as well (photo from this). Overall, Lucky Dog is a reliable and enjoyable spot for a classic hot dog meal.

Doug Haus never dissapoints! This place is genuinely so good! If your a hot dog fan, don't look any…read morefurther this will be your spot. Stopped by on a Saturday for lunch and picked up the downtown dog. Got in around 1:30pm and walked right up to place my order. For $13 bucks I can't complain because this thing was loaded and a good size for the price. The Downtown dog came loaded with peppers, onions, bacon and mayonnaise and mustard. All hot dog ingredients were definitely of great quality to which I greatly appreciated. Overall, I can't wait to come back here again as this is my closest Dog Haus now. Super thankful to have them out here in TO now. Make sure to keep them in mind the next time your looking for a hot dog or a quick and flavorful bite to eat. You will not regret it, that's forsure. Till next time!

SO SAD - Dog Haus decided to change their menu as a whole company nationwide and I don't know if it…read morereally satisfies us the way it used to. Dog Haus is known as an American craft-casual restaurant that's famous for their gourmet hot dogs and sausages all served on Hawaiian bread rolls. However, the new menu eliminated a good amount of their reputation! They sell smash burgers and grilled chicken, but it's called Dog Haus. The menu no longer has items like the spicy Italian, smoked apple sooo veggie sausage, chicken-mozzarella, and curried Thai Fighter wurst. Now, they highlight their normal hot dog and pork sausage - that's it. They used to sell their gourmet and different flavor combination sausages and bratwurst, but now they don't. It's turned into a restaurant like Sonic (but without the fun desserts and drinks) and Shake Shack (but at least Shake Shack has shakes.) They lost their uniqueness. Other than the company decision, which was probably the wurst business move, they also did not communicate clear enough to their employees because everyone at this location seemed to be over it. The guy at the cash register was incredibly annoyed that we didn't automatically understand that onion rings obviously aren't on the menu like before and onion strings are the new thing and what the differences are. We're sad because we really liked this restaurant and location, but it's not worth the food that's now pretty basic at most other American restaurants. Having smash burgers as a hot-dog place vs. selling hit smash burgers at somewhere like Fat Sal's where they're known for that is a bit different. Additionally, the customer service was NOT it. I asked for a water cup and was very disappointed to see that even after running the water for a few seconds, the water was still pink and not clear. When we got our food, our onion rings now onion strings were one of the saddest "shareables" side on their menu. They were limp, oily, hard to eat, and definitely not the move. We ordered entrees and weren't too impressed now that the dogs were normal, as well. Ambiance wise - they have seating inside, some seating outside, and inside have a tv where things like the FIFA World Cup play on a big screen.

Eating at hot dog on…read morea stick is nostalgic for me and I found myself needing a refreshment to end my shopping experience. I hadn't been to this specific location in a long long time. I'm also trying to give them the benefit of the doubt as most times I've come here the service has been pretty friendly and good. However this last trip was reminiscent of what others wrote about less than friendly staff. There was a tattooed young adult gal working the stall and she never once acknowledged me at the register. I could see she was making battered dogs, so had no intention of rushing her, but in every experience when a worker is in the middle of something but sees a customer they give you a simple "I will be right with you" just as an acknowledgment that they see you. She didn't. She was in front of me prepping and looked in my direction while working but just wouldn't make eye contact, it ended up feeling super awkward to stand there without anything. I did debate on leaving after a bit but then a really lovely and bubbly manager came out who was training a new hire. She saw me standing and welcomed me, took my order and handed me my drink promptly. A totally nice and professional interaction. I debated what to rate this review but I decided I wanted to give this location 4 stars (really 3.5) as I have been here a few times and only this one time was the service rude and off (until the manager stepped in of course). Every other time I've had normal to good experiences so fair to leave them a more well rounded review. I just hope it brings attention to some of their younger workers on how to provide nice customer service in a way that makes a customer feel welcomed but understanding that sometimes the staff need a moment to finish their task. Back to a really positive reason of why I came here to leave this review LYCHEE LEMONADE!!! Omg it's amazing! It's a new limited time option but I am obsessed. I already have always loved their lemonade here and the lychee flavor is awesome. Definitely make sure you come try it because I'm a huge fan of lychee flavoring and mixed with their already tasty lemonade this was a 5/5. I really hope they'd consider keeping it apart of their long standing menu. We will see.
