Five Guys always reminds me of my days when I had to work in DC and needed a quick lunch. I LOVED Five Guys back then! Now here there seems to me to be something lost in the move west. The most sad thing is that the burgers have less taste, are maybe more overdone, and they seem less greasy but also less flavorful. The same kinda goes for the fries I think, but I still love the fries! Right now, in these times, the wait seems longer than it should be. And the prices are also fairly high. Over $16 for their "Cheeseburger" and "Little Fries". Granted, the taste is still pretty good, but at that price I feel it should be pretty freaking awesome, and it falls way short. read more

Rarely a long wait especially because I've never seen more than 10 customers there at once. Head-to-head with In-n-Out is pretty close to a tie. 5 G has better fries and shakes, INO has better burgers and is nearly half the price. 5G has peanuts, hot dogs and gives an obscene amount of fries... Who in the heck doesn't love this place? Hands down best burgers always. I once use to love the other burger chain with the palm trees but they just can't compare to five guys. The meat is excellent always done to perfection. Toppings are always fresh. Fries are really good and you get good portions. I got the little cheese burger and grilled onions like always. They also got free peanuts to snack on while you wait which are also really good. Service is great. Everything about this establishment I love. 10 outta 10!! read more

Pricey! One word to describe this place is pricey. I live nearby and this is the second time coming to any 5 guys location in my life. I ordered the little bacon cheeseburger and small fries. I read other peoples review before coming here and the regular burger comes with 2 patties and the little burger comes with one patty. For a little burger, it's pretty massive but costs like $9. The small fries cost $4. I know Five Guys put an extra scoop of fries but for $4, it's still pricey. Had average experience here but the employees had good positive attitude while working which is great and gives off good vibe. Place is clean and has that retro decor all around. The massive portion and extra scoop of fries makes Five Guys unique. If the little burger and small fries cost under $9 total, I would definitely come more often. read more

I will always check my receipt before leaving this location. I asked for two burgers made the same way and received one with A1 sauce and one with BBQ. What's very disappointing is the shake we ordered didn't come up with the food and then it was completely covered in ice cream on the outside. My husband and I have very different tastes when it comes to where to get our hamburgers. Five Guys is his favorite fast food burger but the closest Five Guys is 5 miles from home so we usually end up going to a fast food joint closer to home. Well, today is the hub's birthday so I sneaked over to Five Guys and bought him a bacon cheeseburger with the works. The joint was clean. Service was excellent. Covid protocol was followed. Visited this location. Customer service was cold, indifferent and distracted. We paid $2 short of $40 for two cheeseburgers and medium fries. For that price I would expect for the hamburgers to look very appealing and not sloppy with the toppings all falling out of it. I would also throw in there that better quality buns would be nice. I had to ask the employee to let me borrow something to clean my table. Most tables were not clean. This was around 4:00pm, way past the lunch hour rush. The food was great and consistent with every location I've ever been to. The staff was also polite and friendly. When I visited the bathroom which is also used by staff members, I was not so impressed. There is no soap available to wash your hands which leads me to believe the employees also are not washing their hands. The urinal was full of urine and also won't flush. I had to leave the location to use hand sanitizer. Really disgusting for hygiene, hopefully I don't get sick from an employee who couldn't properly use soap in the bathroom to hand wash either. read more

Whenever I want to switch it up, and get something other than In N Out, I come to Five Guys. This time around, I found myself in south Torrance. This location sat closest to me, so I made my way over here. I was pretty hungry, and I knew the burgers from here would do the trick. I ordered my usual: a hamburger, with a variety of veggies, to include jalapenos. Although the fries here are amazing, I didn't get them this time around. To drink, I just had some water. The burger was great, as expected. The wait time was comparable to other Five Guys locations. The place was clean, and the other patrons were mainly locals to the area. This Five Guys location is inside a small shopping plaza, and I had no issue with the parking. It was a short and sweet lunch stop. read more

Had the worse experience coming into my favorite burger restaurant. Wow, I'm at a loss for words. What is all the rave about? I bought 2 burgers, a kids burger and two small fries (no drink, no upgrades) and it cost me $40!! First bite was great, but half way through I was disgusted at the overly rich and overly large burger. Not for me. P.S. if you have a child with peanut allergies, stay clear. They have a giant box of unshelled peanuts that are free with your food. I guess eating peanuts with burgers is a thing? I don't get the correlation. Inflation is driving up fast food prices to ridiculous amount especially here in California.. Burger and service was good but expensive for family to eat. Ambience is not bad, could have a bit more cleaning. I went here for lunch on Thursday and had a very nice time. While the food here is not as affordable as INO and does not stand out to the level of FatBurger, the burger and hot dog are each still prepared well, are quite tasty, and feature a nice variety of ingredients. I placed my order online, and I do recommend this order taking system, as it is quick, easy and showcases many combinations that would not be readily apparent from ordering in person. While I showed up 20 minutes early for my food, the staff was more that accommodating in rushing my order once they saw that I was there. Everybody who talked to me was so friendly and happy to be there, which I sincerely appreciate in service staff. While I waited for my food, one of the employees guided me toward a station near the soda fountain which had complimentary peanuts. What a treat that was. I asked the young man if I could throw the peanut shells on the floor, and while the floor was pretty well kept (another plus) he enthusiastically said he would be glad to clean up any mess I made with the peanut shells. My food was ready very quickly. While I had originally planned to take my meal to go and have lunch at home, I really felt so welcome and comfortable that I decided to enjoy my burger, hot dog and shake at the restaurant. They had some great music playing over the restaurant speakers, and there was no disturbances to speak. All and all, I am pleased to report that my experience from start to finish was a pleasant one. read more

I don't usually patronize this location since staff always seems a little "off," as if the owner gives them minimal, if any, training compared to other Five Guys. But it was late enough that it was either Five Guys (usually better food) or a drivethrough (usually about a third the price). Ordered a regular burger and regular fries for takeout (no drink), gave cashier a $20 and some change. She gave me TWO CENTS back after rooting around in the nearly empty tip jar! $19.98 is a lot for a regular burger and regular fries. In fact, my receipt said I was owed more than five dollars in change. I pointed this out to the cashier and she seemed a little miffed as she gave me the five dollars, but I figured she was just tired at the end of a long shift. After a time more people came, placed their orders and received their food. I initially assumed they had less complicated orders than my regular hamburger and regular fries. Eventually I asked what happened and showed the cashier my receipt. She replied that they had given my food to someone else. I asked her if they checked that person's receipt - obviously they hadn't. I waited some more as they made my order again. I later found that they gave me enough extra grease in the bottom of the bag to cause it to rupture when I picked it up once home, scattering the fries over the floor of the car and the driveway. Thank heavens the burger was wrapped or I'd have had to trash it too! Net result is that I paid almost $15 for a regular burger that the menu claims is $8.89 plus tax - which would have been $19.98 had I not spoken up. At least use bags that won't rip due to your grease - you recently increased your prices more than enough to afford it. I get it - I worked fast food too for awhile and it was hard even before COVID. But there's no excuse for shortchanging the customer, not bothering to check receipts, and using bags that are clearly not up to the task. I guess the moral of the story is don't use cash - use your credit card instead. Or, since they don't check receipts, perhaps you don't have to pay at all - just walk up and claim someone else's meal like someone did with mine. Love me some 5 Guys. I always order a bunless burger in a bowl, with an extra patty, mayo, bbq sauce, pickles, lettuce and onions and they never disappoint. And the Torrance location always gets my order correct, which is a nice change from Alameda...but I'll save that for another review. read more

Little is not little at @Five_Guys!! Hehe! I got to try Five Guys Burgers for the first time recently and was overwhelmed with how their "little" food was actually big portions for me! See they offer regular size and little size and after reading on Yelp how regular actually means two beef patties, I decided to stick with the little burgers. I got myself a little cheeseburger ($4.79) and a little side of cajun style fries ($2.49). I came on a Friday at lunch time and the place was packed! The wait was a little long and so I helped myself to the free all you can eat peanuts! I thought it was a nice offering but they were a little bit on the salty side! When my order number was called out, I was surprised when I saw them fill the little cup of cajun fries with even more! They had already placed it in the bag and then they threw in even more! For my little cheeseburger, I got it with mayo, ketchup, grilled onions and grilled mushrooms. I simply love how all toppings are free here! I can definitely see myself and others having a bit of fun mixing and matching toppings to make a unique burger. The burger looked small in size but it really wasn't small! The meat was decent sized, there was melted cheese drizzling on top and a decent amount of onions and mushrooms.I had a hard time finishing my small cheeseburger because a lot was packed in the little sandwich! Their burgers reminded me of burgers that can be cooked at home. As for the fries, it was a lot as well! The cup was overflowing with thick slices of potatoes. The cajun was a bit on the spicy side and I found myself going back for more water in between munching on these. These fries were unlike no other I've tried before. "Oh my goodness, OH MY DAYYYMMM!!! WE GOIN' HAMMM!!" -- Daym Drops Five Guys Burgers & Fries... Sounds like a porno featuring fat folks (calm down, it's all about equality!) running a train on a chick while they all eat some burgers and fries. This particular restaurant looks like any other Five Guys place, but a little bit smaller. I dig it though, because everyone from the customers, to the workers and awesome manager Eddie are some of the nicest people around this vicinity of epic fast food greatness! I ended up getting a big-ass burger with A1 sauce, grilled caramelized onions, cheese, bacon, etc. and YES... it was THE BOMMMMBBBB!! The bacon here is so damn thick, crispy and delicious, it feels like I'm eating bacon from some southern or mid-west state. The A1 accentuates and simply adds to what is already a flavorful burger. The aluminum foil seals in all of the goodness, you don't even care if your burger ends up being soggy while taking it back home. Like other 5 Guys places, you get the free peanuts, but what I LOVE about this particular one is the fact that they have the digital beverage machine where you can use the touch screen to pick and/or mix something like Mello Yello and Powerade if you want to!! All in all, this place gets 5 stars from me, because damn near everything about it is flawless...from the cleanliness, to the hard working cooks, preppers, cashiers and managers....but of course; THE FOOD. read more

Located off Hawthorne and Lomita in Torrance. My buddy wanted to eat his dinner here so we went. The place is in a small plaza shared with a Chase Bank and two other businesses. Parking can be tough during the lunch/dinner hours and during bank hours. The place is nice and clean. The time to get your food can take a while. They are a bit pricey as well. Overall an ok place I still prefer other burger joints to this one but the burgers are good here. The best part is the peanut box you can grab some peanuts and munch until your food is ready. read more

Here's the breakdown: Service = * * * * for the ordering counter and * * for the pick up counter, averages three stars Location = * * * decent with adequate parking Restaurant = * * * * the restaurant is clean and spacious, well lit. Food = * * * average. The fries are good, fresh cut. They give free complimentary peanuts. The drinks are all you can drink free self service refills. The downside is that the burgers are only done "well done" so are not moist and juicy, more drier and charred. Portions / Value = If there was such a thing as "negative stars" which with my sub-grading system, there is, I'd assign it here. THE REVIEW For $9, I bought a "Little Fry" and "Little Hamburger" with a cup of water, so no soft drink. The french fries in the "Little Fry" size costs $3.09 and was a small cup that contained a sparse enough amount that was easy to lay out and count (I included photos here) and totaled 17 french fries. Wow, talk about a RIP OFF. I'd inquired with the ordering station and they simply shrugged with an "it is what it is" attitude, whereas if I managed the business, I'd probably offer an upgrade (even for an upcharged price) or just give more fries in good will, as the cost of goods is nothing compared to the value of a satisfied customer. The hamburger, the "Little" version cost $4.99, it was probably no better than an In-N-Out sized hamburger, so valued around $2.00 to me. Overall, for $9, I felt I got a kid's meal that was worth maybe $3.50, without a drink, so in terms of pricing to value, I'd say it was 3 x (300%) more expensive than what I perceived it is/was worth. I guess, I could have stuffed myself with pounds of the free peanuts to fill myself up, but that would be silly... My advice is to stay away from the "Little" portions, pay for the larger sizes, and take home leftovers, share, or throw the excess away, as you'll leave feeling ripped off and hungry after ordering the smaller portions. I wouldn't say I'd never come back here, but it's probably near the bottom of my list of options I'd choose, with fast food burger joints like McDonald's, Carl's Jr., Jack in the Box, Burger King, Wendy's and the like as better value options. If you're going to have lunch here, and want to get filled, be prepared to spend about $15. With that, I'd say their peer competitors in the fresh cooked burger realm of The Habit or In N Out are probably better deals than Five Guys. I hope they take a look at their positioning and figure out how to earn the marketshare of customers and return customers loyalties by lowering prices, offering combo deals and adjusting their portions so that there's a sense of value. The food quality is good, so that's not the issue. It's too bad, since I used to like Five Guys a lot and recommended it to my peers, but now I feel it's hard to make that suggestion and endorsement without the negative disclaimer. read more

This is the worst 5 guys! I've been here two times. Both times I received old, cold, hard fries. Last night they didn't put bbq sauce on one burger and gave us stale old fries. I paid $70.00 and the food went in the trash. One burger was supposed to be lettuce wrapped. They didn't wrap it. This place is the worst five Guys there is. They are very slow as well. Both times I Waited 30 minutes or more. Never going back! Next time my friend wants five guys we will go to in n out. It's cheaper and usually you get food fresh. read more
