Staff was indifferent and dismissive. Took longer to receive food than it should based on the fact that it is "fast food" and they were only moderately busy. All this is not such a big deal, but... The meat tasted off, stale and mushy. There was a bone fragment in my burger which I nearly chipped a tooth on. The fries tasted like cardboard. I've hear that this chain was rated number one. Wow! To me, Habit is a bit elevated compared to other fast food. You don't usually see me craving fast food. Just wanted to give a shout-out to the sirloin steak sandwich. I only came to this location because it was on my way home from an errand, and the app had a $10 off $30 deal on it. Fool me three times, super shame on me. Ordered via the app and was told it would be ready in 11 minutes. I arrived a little early and checked in at the mobile pickup spot. At the 13 minute mark, I received a text saying my order was ready and it would be out soon. So 14 minutes AFTER THAT TEXT, my food finally comes out. Strangely, it includes a drink I didn't even order, so I assume someone else's order was missing that drink. I also ordered one bbq sauce and one ranch, and they gave me two ranches, so my son had to go sauceless. Lastly, my wife said the pineapple in her teriyaki burger was too hard to eat. I didn't even know that was possible. This isn't the first time the whole take-forever-to-do-mobile-pickup has happened to me at this location. If any of you want to order some mobile pickup food because you've got a baby in the car, can't be in a crowd, or any other reason, then I highly recommend you go elsewhere. read more

Even though its standard fast food restaurant setup, the cleanliness and friendly staff establishes a great start. We enjoyed two char burgers and a bbq burger. I'm so confused on all the hype. So many people have told me that I had to try Habit. They point out that it was rated the #1 fast food burger and beat out In-N-Out. I ordered a charburger with cheese and kept it as it comes (caramelized onions, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and mayo). The food came out fresh and hot and was definitely a step above several other chains (McDonald's, Wendy's, Burger King). But that where it stops for me. It really just tasted like a better version of Burger King. Not great; not bad at all. Just nothing special. If I was in the area, wanted a burger, and there was no In-n-Out around then I'd go back. Don't know what's going on but the last couple times I've ordered, my order was put together sloppily, without care. I tried again today with a simple salad- their caesar and this is the quality of what I received for both salads ordered. Paying extra for a half of an avocado that had black hard spots- it's easy enough to cut them out. Lettuce was leaf- burned or starting to degrade. Thank you The Habit Burger Grill for the FREE Chicken Club with a $2 purchase!!! Kiosk ordering didn't work out since I couldn't find the spot for my coupon and the line was growing. Luckily the very nice staff person helped me out. TIP: Ordering in person vs app or kiosk was better because you can ask for customization not listed elsewhere. Thank you kind person. Parking is shared with many other businesses but there is a dedicated area for curbside pick up. The place was jumping!!! The staff was working very hard and fast fast fast. They wanted to charge me 60 cents. They said its only 1 per order. So basically if I ordered my items separately I could've got multiple ranchs. I understand 1 if I just order 1 thing or charging if I order nothing, but not when I order multiple and ask for 1 more. Really embarrassing for them to nickel and dime like that. Habit has pretty good burger in general but a bit pricey. I haven't came to this location in a while and surprised to see a kiosk right in the middle between the cash register and the door. I feel like it's so wrongly placed, should be along the wall or something. I ordered through the app so I got food as soon as I arrived. This location is tiny and parking is plentiful but the first two rows of parking is probably full. I got their char burger ($5.59) and their french fries ($3.49). It was good and filling! It is a busy Wednesday evening at this location which is right next to a hospital. Have had better experiences at other locations. Food is adequate but the employee who took my order barely looked at me and I had to tell him 3 times that part was dine-in and part was take out. Asked for a cup and it seemed like an effort to silently hand it to me. He finally spoke to confirm the order at the end. Bathroom toilet not flushed and out of paper towels. Got to a table which was not clean...sigh. Grabbed some napkins and cleaned it myself. Not terrible but my experience has been better at other busy locations. I just realized , after paying $20.00 for a double burger combo that Habit is NOT a good value ! First of all , I don't think I've ever seen a patty so WAFER thin ! Pleasantly surprised! At a different location, I had a 2 star experience 3 years ago. Since the delivery service app had a coupon for $5 off, decided to give the Habit another chance. Was delighted to see that they have Impossible burgers on their menu. So I went with the that w/grilled onions, mayo, in a whole wheat bun. Nice sized burger that does not burn a hole in my wallet. haha. As for the hubby, he got the Santa Barbara Char which looked amazing! It is 2 freshly chargrilled beef patties, avocado, carmelized onions, American cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles on grilled sourdough. He gave it 4 stars. As for his shake, he was happy with the sea salt caramel. For sides, we both got the little tray of half onion rings and half fries. Those were 3 stars. Our food was nicely packaged in a recyclable bag with handles that was sealed up. This Habit location in Torrance did a great job! We've been going to the Habit at this location for years. It feels like the experience has declined. The burger patties seem to be experiencing some shrinkflation. The fries are good. This last visit I ordered two shakes, and they weren't ready for about 10 minutes after all the food came out. Do they have any idea how unpleasant it is for a parent to have to listen to two kids whine about where their shakes are? That all should be ready when the burgers and fries are ready. The Habit Burger Grill serves delicious burgers! I don't know what makes them so good, but it would most definitely be my first choice for a burger. When hubby and I arrived, we went right up to the counter and ordered our food. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating so we decided to eat it inside. We didn't wait long for our food and our pager buzzed within 6mins from when we ordered. I went right for it and like always, amazing! I always just get the regular burger and fries. The ambiance is your regular fast food vibe, nothing fancy. There is plenty of parking close by. The service wasn't bad and the restaurant was pretty tidy. I'll be back for sure! read more
