At the 13 minute mark, I received a text saying my order was ready and it would be out soon. So 14 minutes AFTER THAT TEXT, my food finally comes out. Strangely, it includes a drink I didn't even order, so I assume someone else's order was missing that drink. I also ordered one bbq sauce and one ranch, and they gave me two ranches, so my son had to go sauceless. Lastly, my wife said the pineapple in her teriyaki burger was too hard to eat. Don't know what's going on but the last couple times I've ordered, my order was put together sloppily, without care. I tried again today with a simple salad- their caesar and this is the quality of what I received for both salads ordered. Paying extra for a half of an avocado that had black hard spots- it's easy enough to cut them out. Lettuce was leaf- burned or starting to degrade. Whoever is in charge of salads clearly doesn't care. The salads looked like they were the ones to be given to donation at the end of the night. I'm so confused on all the hype. So many people have told me that I had to try Habit. They point out that it was rated the #1 fast food burger and beat out In-N-Out. I ordered a charburger with cheese and kept it as it comes (caramelized onions, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and mayo). The food came out fresh and hot and was definitely a step above several other chains (McDonald's, Wendy's, Burger King). But that where it stops for me. It really just tasted like a better version of Burger King. Not great; not bad at all. Just nothing special. If I was in the area, wanted a burger, and there was no In-n-Out around then I'd go back. They wanted to charge me 60 cents. They said its only 1 per order. So basically if I ordered my items separately I could've got multiple ranchs. I understand 1 if I just order 1 thing or charging if I order nothing, but not when I order multiple and ask for 1 more. Really embarrassing for them to nickel and dime like that. The staff was super busy the whole time with the constant inflow of orders and prep work. There's a self order kiosk at the door if your into working for free. Habit has pretty good burger in general but a bit pricey. I haven't came to this location in a while and surprised to see a kiosk right in the middle between the cash register and the door. I feel like it's so wrongly placed, should be along the wall or something. I ordered through the app so I got food as soon as I arrived. This location is tiny and parking is plentiful but the first two rows of parking is probably full. I got their char burger ($5.59) and their french fries ($3.49). It was good and filling! Was delighted to see that they have Impossible burgers on their menu. So I went with the that w/grilled onions, mayo, in a whole wheat bun. Nice sized burger that does not burn a hole in my wallet. haha. As for the hubby, he got the Santa Barbara Char which looked amazing! It is 2 freshly chargrilled beef patties, avocado, carmelized onions, American cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles on grilled sourdough. He gave it 4 stars. As for his shake, he was happy with the sea salt caramel. For sides, we both got the little tray of half onion rings and half fries. Those were 3 stars. Our food was nicely packaged in a recyclable bag with handles that was sealed up. This Habit location in Torrance did a great job! We've been going to the Habit at this location for years. It feels like the experience has declined. The burger patties seem to be experiencing some shrinkflation. The fries are good. This last visit I ordered two shakes, and they weren't ready for about 10 minutes after all the food came out. Do they have any idea how unpleasant it is for a parent to have to listen to two kids whine about where their shakes are? That all should be ready when the burgers and fries are ready. A friend told me that on Fridays The Habit Burger offers a fish sandwich with free fries special. So I visited the unit on Torrance Blvd. Just off of Hawthorne Blvd. Ordered the fish sandwich and was told the free fries were only for those who ordered on line. So I ordered the $3.99 fries. 1.) The fish sandwich came with one fish-stick sized portion of fish on a large hamburger bun with Cole slaw. I ate the fish half and was left with an empty bun that was basically a Cole slaw sandwich for $11.19 2.) The fries were undercooked, cold and not seasoned at all. You should not be able to bend a fry so that the ends can touch. 3.) Execution: the crew was one employee taking orders while also playing the role of expediter and 4-5 people working in the grill area. Fries and other hot items were being sandbagged and held 5-6 orders on a tray waiting for the expediter . Bottom line, my meal cost me $20 for a fish sandwich, fries, and drink...... and was not worth it. I don't want customers to stay away, I just want the people in charge to get a clue. read more

The Habit Burger Grill serves delicious burgers! I don't know what makes them so good, but it would most definitely be my first choice for a burger. When hubby and I arrived, we went right up to the counter and ordered our food. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating so we decided to eat it inside. We didn't wait long for our food and our pager buzzed within 6mins from when we ordered. I went right for it and like always, amazing! I always just get the regular burger and fries.
