Now that I have fulfilled my One Direction fantasy, I can officially say that Nando's is worth the hype. First, can we just talk about their artist program? Art on the walls is great, it's amazing to know that it's a chain that has the largest collection of African art, what other conglomerate is able to have such a unique attachment to their name? I love how the chicken is flame cooked to order, it's very unique to find a chain that still does this and I have really grown to miss the chicken being charred when I'm at an alternative chicken spot. The sauces are so zesty and acidic. It's a great pairing with the chicken and it coats the sauce very well, I recommend getting extra if you have a chance. The chicken really is everything, it's well seasoned and you should try it in every way they present it. The menu is varied enough where you can try different ways to enjoy their famous chicken. I've been going to Nando's for years - literally since 2001 when I was at university in London. So, I like to think of myself as a Nando's connoisseur! One thing I've realised is that the quality of the food and the experience varies sooooo much depending on which branch you go to. Unfortunately this branch at Woodley Park looks great, but the quality of the food really fell flat for me. The chicken was super duper dry, and I ordered two legs to try and avoid this. You really have to overcook dark meat for it to be dry . In fact, from the video you can see how dry the drumstick is . The fries (chips) were not hot, they were luke warm and the halloumi was the same lukewarm warm temperature. Nooooo thanks. Luckily this is not my local Nando's. read more

I ended up ordering from the app instead of with her. I told the person at the register that the app said my order was ready, but she said they had no bags. When they finally got bags, they couldn't find my order. It turns out my food was sitting behind the counter the entire time! I received cold French fries and not even an attempt at an apology. I tried writing the manager but I got no response. The seasoning makes the dish. The red skin mashed potatoes are excellent. The Peri chips (fries) are perfect : not greasy, overly salted or soggy. The Portuguese rice is tasty. The Naughy natas are a perfect way to end a meal. They are sweet and good. There are loads of beverage choices. You can also have a glass for water. I tried the blood orange lemonade and loved it. The staff members are friendly. The weather was perfect and we enjoyed sitting at a booth, just enjoying the sunshine. We didn't feel rushed. The history of the restaurant is interesting. You can read about it on the wall. I love that the sauces are available for purchase. A few flavors are carried in the grocery store. If you want to make sure you get the flavor you want, just buy it at the restaurant. Where do I begin... so the chicken was moist and the fries were seasoned. But the decent review stops there. You start by scanning a QR code and placing your order on the App (yes for dine in). Then you pay, and the Tip is suggested. They drop off your food and you don't have any further interaction with them. So what exactly did I tip for? I guess for them to do their job and make a plate. The rice had no flavor, the fries were lukewarm (more cold than warm), and the Mac! If you have ANY fondness for Mac and Cheese, theirs will piss you off! Imagine boiled pasta, some shredded cheese, and bread crumbs. Not a trace of any seasoning or flavor. The chicken, although moist lacked flavor, with the exception of the skin. They probably put some kind of sauce on it during grill. Speaking of sauce... their bottled sauces are good. Lastly, they need to replace them busted behind seats! Tears and rips, sinking cushions... a little pride in their appearance would help. I don't do this often, but for them I recommend you sit this one out. You have a choice of sauces, it got the lemon herb sauce, which came with a cute little flag labeling the chicken. There is an upcharge for sprouts as a side but was worth it. Everything hit the spot, yum! The Brussels sprouts were the perfect tenderness, a little firm and browned. My eyes were bigger than my stomach on a half chicken but I ate it all as it tasted so good. They brought out a little pitcher of ice water and paper cups, perfect for a hot evening. The outdoor seating was mellow and relaxing atmosphere. The inside was cool and inviting too if you wanted air conditioning, I preferred to stay outside as I was dressed for the hot weather. Being from LA, we don't have the immense pleasure of enjoying Nando's chicken. I studied abroad in London and Nando's was the first spot I ate at upon the suggestion of my landlord. It was love at first bite. It has been nearly 8 years since I have had Nando's, and it tastes exactly how I remembered. I ordered a boneless breast with the extra hot sauce and rice. Being the spicy eater that I am, I made sure to take the XX hot sauce to my table so I could drizzle it on my food. I enjoyed my visit at Nando's immensely, I know it's not the most amazing food, but it brought back so many memories.
