I dropped by Charleys Cheesesteaks to grab a quick lunch. I thought my small Philly cheesesteak combo meal was decent for the price and size. Going into my selection, I set the bar pretty low so I wouldn't expect an authentic Philly cheesesteak. The small combo meal was about 12-14 bucks, and I thought the sandwich size and amount of fries were fine for a lunch. Compared to other restaurants in the mall's food court, I thought the pricing and customer service were fine. To be honest, I went to Charleys because it did not have a line, but the results were great. Oh! one small thing that I appreciated: the sandwich and fries are served in a small box - similar to the ones you might receive for a personal pizza. Got a sub here recently - the Philly Cheese Steak less the OMG (onions, mushrooms and green peppers) - well that is how it appeared on my receipt - "No OMG". I selected the cheese and decided to get original fries with it. It was not greasy so I enjoyed it, although I was not a fan of the fries. I also ordered a Strawberry lemonade as well which had strawberries in it - I really loved the drink and those strawberries were sweet. I've eaten here a few times and finally wanted to do a review on this place. I almost always get their cheesesteak. And their cheesesteak overall, was okay. The steak was seasoned well but was a bit dry. I'm guessing that's the main reason why they smothered the sandwich with a good serving size of Mayo to hide the fact. What I did like about the meal was they do cook the fries to order so you get them steaming hot and crispy every order. I ordered a regular buffalo chicken with cheese fries and a side of ranch. I understand that this is fast food, but I was pretty impressed. It was very tasty. There was a whole bunch of sauce on the sub, and the cheese fries had ooey gooey runny cheese on them, which I loved. The cheese fries tasted good by themselves, but dipping the fries in the ranch kicked it up a level. This is probably not somewhere I'd eat often, as I tend to go for healthier fare(and cheesesteaks aren't the most healthy), but yeah, this was good. No one was there. 3 workers just standing around not cooking anything. Charley's Philly Cheesesteak is top notch. Despite it being a chain, it really does have a fantastic steak and cheese. It's always fairly quickly, too. Their fries are fairly normal fries. They don't come seasoned, but have a seasoning station near the end of the line, and this is where you really get to customize your order. I usually go for the classic Charley's seasoning which is probably a sweeter blend of Old Bay. The seasoning on the fries truly elevate your meal, and it doesn't cost anything extra. For about ~$10, it's one of the best options in the food court. read more

So I always go to this location because My son works at the mall and never had an issue . today i order a regular sandwich $7.29 and 2.99 for fries when i got my food it only had 7 fries yeap i count them so i ask in a "nice low tone" if this little of fries is worth $2.99? I'd never been to a Charley's before, and every time I pass by them, they give out the most delicious samples. Eventually I gave in and bought a Philly Cheesesteak. It was good, though I keep forgetting that I really hate onions. I would definitely recommend the chicken ranch thing they're sampling now, because it's super tasty. Middling score is because, like others have said, the customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Register guy doesn't speak a lot of English, and he tends to be rather abrupt and harsh when you aren't following what he's trying to do. Saw him snap at a lady today because she couldn't figure out where the line started and where you're supposed to pay (honestly, neither could I, it's a little muddled). I've tried their gourmet combo for the first time. It cost me almost $10. The steak and cheese was aweful....not enough meat, not enough cheese...hmmmm.....that's ironic, huh? If you're in the mood for grilled subs, you should go to Jerry's Subs and Pizza. They give you much more meat, cheese, and their seasoning on the steak is far better. I'm from Philadelphia so I'm pretty particular about my cheesesteaks, esp. those not from Phila. This thought as I approached this place wearing my Eagles hoodie. The assembly-line order system wasn't apparent from the people standing back reading the order menu board. It all looked good and was kinda what I expected. Gourmet-type cheesesteaks just the way outsiders make them. Fair enough. I went basic: Cheesesteak with fries. A simple combo with a drink (Barq's Root beer). I paid $10+ and moved down the line. Then I saw how they made their steaks. Kinda the way I'd do them at home in Phila. ~ flat , frozen strips of meat fried in a skillet. The fresh lettuce and tomato slices are not the way I grew up eating cheesesteaks but this wasn't Philly. The cheese melted just right like I like it! Cheese Wiz would have been better but I wasn't being particular and I don't think it was offered ( Please add this option). I saw that could get gourmet fries or bacon and cheese fries. Loved that! My fries were fresh and the shaker had Old Bay which didn't clump up when I doused my cup filled fries. I sat and tried all this and was impressed. The cheesesteak was tasty and the fries were very good. I could have had vinegar on them if I wanted. The drink went down fast though and for $10 it was a bit more than I expected and that was a regular order....not the $4.95 deal. I liked what I had though and would go back. I'm not greedy so I don't keep going back & forth to the sample people in the mall, although I wouldn't knock it if someone does do that (it's hard out here now...recession!!!). The folks working there are TOTAL idiots, it's actually really amazing to watch them pretend to hustle and still accomplish NOTHING. I always come to location because is near my office in Democracy Blvd. I just wanted to let you know who awful was the customer service from the employees specially a short lady and the manager. I ordered a chicken sub and I noticed that some people substitute chicken and steak in their sub. I asked the employees if I could get chicken and steak in my large sub, they said is too late I will need to pay for one. I noticed that my meat wasn't on the grill yet they were about to place it on it but even so there were other people behind me that could perfectly use the meat for them and throw some steak for me and make me happy. I asked the manager and he said sorry is too late now. He asked me if I would buy an extra meat for my sub, I laughed at him and shaked my head. I remember everyone of them because I used to be manager at CAVA, a restaurant located in the same food court and they used to come to CAVA and exchange free subs for free bowls, of course they don't remember me.
