Decent burgers and great fries but I would still choose In-N-Out over Five Guys. Been to the Five Guys here a couple of times and though they take as long to make a burger as In-N-Out does, the burgers here were a bit messier. Taste wise, I'd still prefer In-N-Out though I'm not saying that the burgers are bad; they're decent. I do love their fries though but In-N-Out is more fresh and less fatty I would say. It might be the In-n-Out bias coursing through my veins, but I consider Five Guys to be your average to above-average burger stop. Although toppings and options are plentiful, I can barely taste the difference between a regular cheeseburger and one loaded with Jalapenos, onions, tomatoes, and what-not. The meat used it DELICIOUS, but it seems to overpower everything else and a burger should be a solid meal and not just a glorified piece of meat. Stop comparing this place to In-N-Out! Both places make outstanding hamburgers and each has its own unique flavor. I love that they have the "little hamburger" as an option because their regular patty would be too much food for me. I've also had their hot dog and fries (regular and Cajun) and everything has been great. They also provide free peanuts to snack on as you wait for your order. My only complaint is the noise level. Don't order online for pick up. We placed an order for pickup. The confirmation email stated that the order would be ready within 10 minutes. I go inside within 5 minutes of placing the order. I wait an additional 20 minutes before I receive my order. The employees proceeded to make the orders of two walk-ins that arrived after I did before beginning work on my online order. Like most other people, I was dragged here kicking and screaming by a friend who couldn't stop raving about Five Guys and how much better it is compared to In-N-Out. Ultimately I found that the food was good, but it was the price that left a bad taste in my mouth. I think a Regular cheeseburger, small fries and drink came out to $12+ dollars. Way more than In-N-Out, way more than The Habit, with those kind of prices, you could go to Red Robin or Fuddruckers, and pay the same + tip. No thank you, just not worth it. It's just people from the East Coast who can't stop raving about this place, they're the ones who think that it's the best ever, just like people from the South think that Whataburger is the best and people from Illinois think that White Castle is the best. Yay they have one in Whittier! I'd never been to a Five Guys before (who are these elusive five guys?) so I was excited to try it out! I'd heard it was better than In N' Out... was that possible? Yes I'm trying to eat less meat. And I feel guilty for partaking in it. But this burger was... good. On top of my meat-eating guilt, I had guilt at the end for eating it so fast. As fast as I could eat it, it was basically falling apart in my hands; I'd ordered the burger "all the way," which means it was stacked with tomato slices, lettuce, grilled mushrooms, thin layers of mustard & mayo, pickles, and grilled onions. The patty was flavorful, definitely more savory than an In N' Out burger. The Cajun fries (which I split with my friend) were good, too... they were hand-cut potato fries with a salty sprinkling of spices and a definite overtone of charred BBQ. I'll probably skip these fries and try the regular ones, just because the burger was a lot to handle on top of the somewhat overpowering fries. If you don't want a regular big burger, order the "little" equivalent. The line was almost out the door when we got here, so try ordering online to pick up your order when you get there! Or come early so you don't have to wait in line for 30 minutes. I noticed some reviewers wrote that the food was overpriced... was it? $5 wasn't outrageous for a burger with two patties and all those toppings. Never Again. I have had Five Guys for years in Florida. We tried our neighborhood FG for lunch today. Well first thing I noticed was the prices have gone up. My last Burger in Florida was like $6.50, today same burger was like $8. No clue what happened but my wife and I told them what We wanted on our burger. The receipt was accurate for our toppings. Both burgers were served to us wrong. My wife had mushrooms on hers, mine was missing ketchup. I would have taken them back to the counter. But it already took us 15 min to get our food. My girlfriend and some co-workers were raving about Five Guys and how it is better than in-n-out etc. I went to "this" location as my first experience and I was not blown away. The meat was juicy and cooked perfectly fine, but the way everyone talked about it I was expecting to be blown away with flavor. The fries that I received looked as if they weren't fresh, they weren't crispy or flavored all that well. I was on border to giving the rating a 2-star but I think I will give them another chance for another day. My girlfriend who use to eat it down in huntington beach area even said this experience was not what she remembered. They make good burgers here. The beef patties are juicy and tasty. It's nice that you can customize your burger with all kinds of free toppings. Although, the burger tends to get soggy when you order the burger that way. I only gave it 4 stars because the burgers cost quite a bit more than In-N-Outs does. For something more expensive, I expect the burgers at Five Guys to taste a whole lot better than the competitions. I do like a couple of things better here than In-N-Out. This is the first Five Guys i have been to and I gotta say it was pretty good. The menu was a bit confusing when the cashier/front counter person explained it to us but we got the hang of it. Alas, comparing these two burger behemoths is like comparing apples to oranges. Yes, they are burgers, but are on completely different levels. So does Five Guys live up to the hype, or should they bow out of the burger race? Let's get right down to it. First, it should be pointed out that a typical meal here with a burger, fries and a drink is going to set you back around $10, so be ready for that. The food itself is made to order, so freshness is never an issue. There is a plethora of toppings that you can chose to load up your burger with, all of it is included with the price of your burger. Speaking of which... If you order a burger with cheese or bacon, extra cheese and/or bacon is included in the price. So go wild!... seriously. Anyway, I recommend getting a sauce or two on your burger (ever had a burger with A1? No? DO IT.) since it seems like the burger patties are often a tad under seasoned. I've only ever had the regular fries, but they have both regular and cajun varieties. The serving size you get of fries is always plentiful, as 2 people can share a regular order easily. My only issue with the fries is that they are usually overdone on the outside and underdone on the inside. This is common with the type of potato that they use (unlike In-N-Out, which uses a potato specifically meant for frying), so don't expect that to change much. Having a Coke Freestyle machine here is a HUGE plus. I wish more restaurants would have these machines installed. The employees are always friendly and willing to go that extra step for you. So good on them for that. OVERALL, good location with friendly and helpful service. Burgers are good for what they are, but take advantage of all the add-ons you can add to your burger, since that's what you're really paying for. read more

I was craving a real nice loaded hot dog after watching travel Chanel hot dog episode lol so we saw they had hot dogs here on the menu so we dropped in. Five Guys this, Five Guys that...I've heard it all. So when they opened one close to me i had to try. I'm an In N'Out guy so this was the burger that I've been hearing takes them out...UHH NO. They are good burgers don't get me wrong, but NOT better than a "Well done double-double with pickles and cheese," not even close! The fries, forget about it...no match for In N'Out. These aren't even as good as The Habit Burgers, and they (The Habit) are the only one's that can compete with In N'Out....both have the best burgers around. Heard so many good things about Five Guys I put it on my to do list. While visiting my friend this spot opened up and we came to check it out. Prices might seem a little steep to some but I'd say its worth it. I ordered a double pattie burger with some cajun fries. Burger was so tasty it made me drool quite a few times. Any burger that makes me drool is a winner! Fries were good also. I recommend you try it. Now if they would open one by my place I'd be good. The food isn't the issue, it's just the absolutely uncomfortable dining experienced caused by homeless and mismanaged by management, or should I say lack of. Absolutely disgusting to see homeless camping outside in the outside dining area and being allowed to come inside, mind you with their blankets and blankets. To make matters worse they give these people bags to fill up on peanuts that they use to drag their disgusting hands through in an attempt to grab as many as they can from the peanut box. Had to try Five Guys Burgers, since its new in town! Heard so much hype about it and I tried the smaller burgers with bacon, regular topping so that I can compare it to other burgers. Yes its a quality burger that you can compare to good restaurants burgers and Jakes in Pasadena. I also had the fries and it was good. Small Burger and fries cost me $ 8-9. Since I am not a burger guy and trying to stay sway for fast food. Cute place. Staff was fun and friendly. I should have listened to the girl taking my order when she said the large fries could feel 4-5 people!!! I had the bacon cheeseburger. Delicious! I like how you can custom order your burger...like Fuddruckers. The burger was so meaty! I stayed full for a good 3 to 4 hours afterwards, no kidding. But it was nice and juicy and cooked perfectly.
