The wait wasn't bad we got on the waitlist before leaving our cabin and 10 minutes after arriving we were sat. This place is beautiful the scenery was breathtaking good variety on the menu and this huge amazing cinnamon roll. We ordered the food came out and all of it was lukewarm/cold instant turn off they had cheese on my potatoes I never asked too much cheese on my wife's plate we she only asked for a slice my son's eggs were cooked incorrectly but him and my wife said forget it we won't complain biscuit's and gravy horrible my father in laws food was sent back twice and still cooked wrong my mother in laws food and I ordered omelette's and both of them came out completely raw in the middleanother restaurant here in Tennessee that's over hyped and doesn't live up to the stars or reviews that it's given!!! I will say our server was nice and did her best and the manager took off all the bad meals and we appreciate them for that however we won't be back breakfast is one of our favorites and it's hard to overlook when it's done incorrectly. My family was back in town and I really wanted the cornbread salad again, so we stopped in once more. We had my Mother with us this time and while she enjoyed her food, she did not like the bench seating at the tables. She is 75 years old and said it caused her back to hurt. Our server was Francisco and he was absolutely excellent. Very attentive and polite. My mom ordered the fried catfish. She said it was very good. My brother ordered the chicken salad salad. It is a mound of chicken salad on top of their co-op salad. He enjoyed it as well. I, of course, got the cornbread salad again. It was excellent as always. The rest of it though...generous portion of meat for both fried chicken and bbq chicken. Nice crisp skin on the fried chicken, moist tender meat on both. Bbq sauce was sweet with a nice tang, turnip greens were cooked down to tender goodness. The coleslaw wasn't too sweet or too tangy. I think the biscuits kinda steal the show...big, fluffy as hell, melt in your mouth buttery goodness. There was no room to even consider dessert lol. I ordered Fried Okra and Fried green tomatoes, sweet potato and tunip greens. Okra was not crisp but soggy. The Fried tomatoes were hard, over Fried and near taste less. The bread? I've visited this place for breakfast on two occasions. Once back in 2019 and again just last week (Oct 2023). Back in 2019, I left absolutely raving about this place. Food was superb and was one of the best meals we had on our trip. Fast forward to 2023 and I'm so disappointed to say it just wasn't the same as I had hoped. For breakfast, I ordered 2 eggs over easy, biscuit, turkey sausage, and fresh fruit. My husband ordered the Campbell Maples breakfast (complete with chicken fried steak). Our food came out rather quickly which was nice. My biscuit was slightly overcooked and crumbly. Still tasted ok, but that all it was. Just ok. My fresh fruit was melon and cantaloupe with one piece of citrus that looked like a lemon but tasted like an orange. My husband noted his chicken fried steak was almost all breading. Most disappointing was the sausage gravy. Back in 2019, I remember the sausage gravy being absolutely delicious. This time it was clear the recipe changed and it had a strong smoky taste. I wasn't a huge fan. Service was great as we remember. The whole restaurant is wonderfully decorated and very charming. This is one of our favorites in the Smoky Mountains area. We've eaten breakfast and lunch twice here. For breakfast, do get on the waitlist ahead of time. Both times for breakfast, for a party of 3-4 around 10a is at least an hour wait. You'll be glad you get on ahead of time, but even with a wait it's worth it. Their breakfast is fantastic and incredible for the price. Both times I've gotten the Campbell Maples, which includes grits, biscuits and gravy, potatoes, country fried steak, and the best part, a pancake. I love their pancake as it's crispy on the outside with a fluffy core. You can't go wrong here. Lunch both times has also been great and I enjoyed their fried chicken, which has good flavor.
