I have it 3 stars and I'll tell you why. First, use the "Wait List" option in their website. You'll be glad you did. We ordered the cinnamon roll as well as the Harvest Bounty with country fried steak, eggs, biscuit, gravy, potatoes, grits and pancake. Cinnamon roll, it was ok. I was expecting something different. If you're expecting cream cheese icing on top, this isn't it. It could have had more cinnamon and brown sugar inside of it. I likely wouldn't order it again as it wasn't what I was looking for. The icing is whipped cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Harvest Bounty was good. Country fried steak was really good. Potatoes were good. Grits were cold and eggs were a little overcooked. Gravy was good and I didn't try the pancake. Biscuit was ok. Much like the cinnamon roll, my standards are really high when it comes to breakfast breads because I've made better at home. Service was good. read more

We have eaten here many times years ago and came back yesterday where the service was fine and the ambiance great however the food was not as great as in the last. The chicken and dumplings had only three small dumplings and the fried okra was way over fried. Also, the potatoe soup was way too watery and runny. We arrived late in Pigeon Forge and wanted something filling before heading in to our hotel for the night. We were seated immediately and had a great server who was on top of everything and very quick. I wish I could remember her name. We started with the complimentary soap which was Potato, it was warm and delicious. I had the chicken pot pie, this thing is huge. You could definitely split it with someone. My two daughters and I could have shared for sure. It was really good, their chicken pot pie has peas and carrots and a nice gravy. It is a little thin like a soup but delicious. My husband had the Pot Roast, luckily I snuck a bite before it was devoured. This Roast was soooo tender and served over mashed potatoes. Highly recommend this as well! This was our first visit here, & it pains me to write this 'cause it has so many good things going for it. First, the included, starter bowl of vegetable soup was delicious and a very nice surprise. My husband ordered the catfish with okra and carrots. I ordered the roast beef with mashed potatoes and a side salad. The salad was good, but I wish it had come out before the entree. I like to eat my salad first, and my mistake, I assumed it would come out prior to the entree, guess I should have asked. My husband enjoyed the catfish, carrots, and okra. I tried the okra and carrots and they both were better than expected. I especially loved the carrots, and may have eaten more than hubby wanted to share. ;) His dinner also came with an amazing biscuit, which he shared with some strawberry jam, yum. I received my entree, which was supposed to be a fork tender roast beef, mashed potatoes, and gravy. My first bite was of the bread it's served over with the mashed potatoes and gravy. It was delicious, and I couldn't wait to dig into the roast beef. I pierced the beef with my fork expecting it to just fall apart, but instead it just giggled. I grabbed my knife and sliced it open, and it was a big blob of gelatinous fat. I finally got the server's attention and showed her what I had been given, she nonchalantly replied, oh that happens and asked if I wanted to try another piece of meat. I was pretty grossed out at that point, so I said, no. She took my plate away, and that was it. When my husband was done she brought the bill with the full charge for my inedible dinner. I told her I didn't mind paying for the salad, but I wasn't planning to pay for a blob of fat. She said she would have to talk her manager, who proceeded to charge me $7 for a side salad, oh well, that's fine, but this could have been handled better in so many different ways. First off the person who prepared the beef should have removed the fat before cooking, or if they felt it was needed for flavor, it could have been removed after cooking. Also, the person plating the dinner could have done a little quality control and not plated it. Finally, upon learning of the situation the server should have gone immediately to the manager without having to be asked to do so by the customer. I can't recall a time where I have actually returned a meal, but it's more embarrassing for the customer than anyone. However, I felt this time they needed to know they made a mistake that they could easily be corrected in the future for other patrons. I would go back for other dishes, but the thought of that roast beef still has me a little queasy. read more

Pros: The staff were friendly and they do offer military discounts. The food came out quickly and the potato soup & turnip greens were really good. Overall the restaurant appeared pretty clean. Cons: Some of my food came out cold. The bread is really thick & dry. The first batch that was brought out was hard as a brick on the bottom & were sent back. The smoked chicken was dry, but had a smoked flavor so I'm guessing that it had maybe a smoked seasoning on it. It was just way too dry to be smoked. First time eating here! We went on a Sunday around 11 AM, had a 20 minute wait which was ok! It was a warm sunny day and it is beside of Skyland ranch entrance! I love the beautiful inside! It is gorgeous!! It was really busy! I had the Milk Parlor omelet with ribbon cut potatoes although the waitress said hash browns. I didnt catch her name but she had a huge table behind us and I of course was doting upon them for a bigger tip! My partner had the Back 40 and he gave it a thumbs up! Went for brunch with a large party and reservation. The place looks amazing inside. It's very large, cool-looking and well-lit. Service was friendly and prompt. The cinnamon bun was very good and we had just had the Dollywood famous one the day before, so it was not a repeat or a step down. I had the Co-op breakfast platter as it had the most veggies and I was warned this place gave humongous portions, and it was decent, though it didn't feel like all its elements worked cohesively; however, it did the trick of not making feel guilty full later. Biscuit and gravy had a great biscuit and an under-peppered gravy that didn't make it sing. The rest of the party seemed to enjoy themselves.
