A really lovely place! It was easy to get in with just a short wait (15 mins) and we filled the time taking pictires around the place (they also have a gift shop). We had an amazing, sweet and happy waitress named Heather, and she was so attentive! LOVED HER! Before moving on - they give coupons for free fudge and a free little bottle of gems at the neighboring gen mine! As in free - free! Ok, now for the food - absolutely delicious and plentiful. I had a mountain berry crepe along with pecan pancakes. FOUR BIG pancakes! The bacon was perfectly crispy too - the whole meal was just spot on. You don't come to Sawyer's Farmhouse Breakfast for a light breakfast. There's nothing light on the menu! Trust me, I looked. And then I looked again, hoping that maybe something low-calorie or nutrient-dense was hiding and I just needed to look harder. Nope. But if you're looking for a sandwich that consists of chicken tenders between two glazed donuts, then this is your place. Sawyer's has other things that are not so county-fair forward. They are known for breakfast: French toast, pancakes, omelettes. If you get pancakes or waffles or the like, you should definitely ask for their house-made peanut butter syrup. It's amazing and so unlike anything that I've ever tasted. I got an omelette, which was good and had a lot of stuff in it. They will give you hot sauce upon request, which I was grateful for because I thought the omelette needed it. One thing that's really cool about Sawyer's is that they seem to take food allergies very seriously. That's always nice to see! As you're entering or exiting, make sure to admire the decor. It looks like you're in a barn, and as you exit, there's a gift shop with stuffed animals, t-shirts and other things to commemorate your visit to Sawyer's. I'm thinking... a Tennessee restaurant strictly dedicated to breakfast, this will be awesome. Wrong. It was the most average restaurant breakfast I've ever eaten. Any chain (e.g. Cracker Barrel, Bob Evans, Denny's) has this place beat. Nothing special at all. The server was nice, but that was offset by the vibe of the place, which seems to move large quantities of people in and out as quickly as possible. I would give three stars, but I was extra disappointed by their menu brag of "Try our delicious homemade blueberry syrup"... "Okay, that will be good." Wrong. It tasted like corn syrup with artificial blueberry flavoring. The most least-homemade thing I've ever tasted. I switched back to the artificial maple syrup after one bite. The wife and I was leaving Pigeon Forge and decided to stop here on the way out for breakfast. Our server was Misty and she was awesome. She made the ordering very easy. The crowd had not arrived yet so it was quiet and relaxed. My wife had Corned Beef hash and eggs and cheese grits. I had the western omelet with 3 Buttermilk pancakes and we both had hashbrowns with onions. The food came out super quick and the favor was excellent!! I highly recommend this restaurant. We loved the food here! Amazing portions, delicious taste, and great price. The waitlist didn't take too long, and they texted us when our table was ready. We explored the nearby shops, and loved the Three Bears Store. Our service was prompt, and our waitress was efficient. She gave us pointers for the menu, and explained how you could upgrade the plain pancakes to specialty ones (which I would recommend!) We didn't have to wait long for the food at all! We had breakfast here as a party of seven. We waited 40 minutes for seating but there are lot of stores nearby to kill time while waiting. It was worth the wait. All of our food was delicious. Service was non-existent. We were seated, party of 4, and the server simply ignored us. Three tables around us were seated and she went to them and walked right us. At one point she made eye contact with me and continued on as if we were not there. 15 minutes in total and nothing so we got up and walked out. I told someone at the reception table and their response was of she did not see you. I call BS since she made eye contact with me. I guess we were not her type of "tea". We loved having Lisa as our server! She made sure we were well taken care of with our food, drinks etc. My 8 month son has a dairy allergy and they had dairy free/gluten free pancakes, he was actually able to eat breakfast with us. My favorite breakfast stop in Pigeon Forge. If there's a line (isn't there always?) it moves fast. Food comes out hot and quick. I love their homemade blueberry syrup and pancakes. Our last day in Pigeon Forge and we decided to get breakfast on our way to the airport. Place was pretty busy but we were sat down pretty fast. Service was good. First Son had the patty melt which was ok, other son had the burger and he liked it. The beef patties seemed to be frozen patties. I had the western omelette with steak fajitas but decided to have it in a burrito which was my mistake since I forgot that the tortilla was probably going to be store bought. The pancakes were ok not fluffy at all. The star of the show was the banana foster which was amazing! The hot chocolate was also really good too! We were vacationing in Pigeon Forge and looking for a breakfast place. I had seen so many advertisements for this restaurant that I figured it would be good. Unfortunately, I was mistaken. The place was fairly busy and the hostess brought us to the back area. We waited for our server, who was friendly and took our order. Due to a previous experience at a different restaurant, we had asked if the food was cooked or came precooked. The server stated the food was made fresh and their syrup was made in house. We were happy to finally be getting a fresh cooked, Southern breakfast. My wife and I ordered the Chicken Fajita Omelet with home fries and 3 pancakes. The omelet was just okay, but the chicken used was processed, (which we could tell from the shape and taste). This ruined my wife's meal and she told the server. The server apologized and asked if she wanted something else, but my wife's appetite was ruined. The home fries tasted like the ones you could get from a grocery store freezer section. The hardest part to deal with, were the pancakes which were advertised as tasting/being great. These pancakes tasted identical to frozen pancakes with no fluffiness and a bland taste. The syrup did not have much of a taste, and after the cost of the meal, I felt we had been ripped off. This was very disappointing, especially after all the hype I had seen about this restaurant. This was a sweet spot on our way into Dollywood! We decided to go for a big breakfast before heading to Dollywood and Sawyers hit the spot! The price was very reasonable, ambiance super friendly and relaxed and our server was amazing helping us out! My celiac needs were taken super seriously. I didn't think I would be able to eat anything on the menu but our server (Lisa I think) quickly corrected me! Gluten free pancakes that were safe and also fit other dietary needs due to autoimmune issues. If ya know ..... then ya know! Everyone else in our party LOVED their breakfast! My husband got the chicken tenders which he inhaled. I was hankering for some southern cheese grits so I got a side of that and a veggie omelette. The grits -- YUM!! Great spot for proper American breakfast, we went with the Pecan Pancakes, Chocolate Chip Waffles, Chocolate Chip Pancakes, and Veggie Omelette. the waffles were crispy and golden on the outside and light and fluffy inside. also enjoyed the Pancakes, with the addition of pecans just made them better.
