Simple affordable delicious and friendly. Not a fan of instant coffee bit everything else was great. :)

Brunch Review: I'm giving 4 stars based on the food and the prices. The service on the other hand I'd give 2.5-3 stars. Pros: the food was delicious. Good size portions and affordable prices Cons: the food took forever to come out, 3 out of 8 meals came out incorrectly, service was slow and pretty terrible. I guess they pay attention to reviews! No plastic forks. Buns were nothing special, but Ok. The burgers were made well with very fresh toppings. My favorite was the sweet potato fries. They found a way to crisp them without burning. Yum! It is small inside, so it would be a challenge to get in during a busy time. Two of our party had burgers and two had sandwiches, the burgers were both under cooked, the sandwiches were good, not enough dressing but they brought more. The waitress was very good. Drinks were cheap, but the singer was too loud and not that good. Will go back because it's close to where I live and my friend said it was an "off night". read more

I actually like this place. The food, especially the burgers are very good. Nice atmosphere as well. Unfortunately the service is terrible. The running joke at my house is if you're not really hungry yet, let's go to Five Points. Sadly I think this afternoon's experience was the very worst. This place is terrible for a few reasons... 1.) the service is TERRIBLE. We saw our waitress once every 30 minutes. 2.) the burger was SO dry and well done I could barely swallow it. 3.) I had to send back 2 Blue Moons because the beer tasted like it had soap in it. The reason I'm giving this place 2 stars instead of 1 is because their Mac & Cheese was pretty good. This place is a great spot for a beer and a burger. The drafts are always cold and there's a good burger selection on the menu in addition to some good sandwiches. Bonus is the outside eating area when it's nice out and live acoustics on the weekend. Minus one star because the buns are a little on the dry side and too big. I like this place. I usually get takeout, but have also eaten in the dining room and at the bar. It's a casual, friendly atmosphere. Good beers and burgers. My current go-to is the pulled pork sandwich. Yum! My only real complaint is that the layout of the dining room is sort of awkward. When you walk in you're practically standing at someone's table. My friend and I told the hostess we wanted to sit outside and she put us down to sit inside which had a wait time which really confused us. We asked for separate checks (mind you, it was justttt my friend and I) to make splitting the bill easier for the waitress later. It was my idea to check in on yelp for the discount and she said later AFTER SHE CHARGED THE CARDS that she can only apply it once per table (IT DOES NOT SAY THAT ANYWHERE ON THE DISCOUNT) and then gave the discount to my friend. I have been coming to Five Points since the first week it opened. I can't say enough good things about their burgers, sweet potato fries, and the sweet potato fries dipping sauce!! The burgers have a nice little twist on each one and are one of my favorite places for a good burger. Having a lot of family and friends with gluten allergies, they are extremely accommodating and even offer a gluten free bun for a burger. I now live in Boston and when I come home to visit, I always make it a point to come here. You guys rock!! read more

Two years ago, I really loved this place. I feel like it's definitely gone down over time. I revisited this place on a nice day and sat outside. It wasn't crowded on the patio but looked busy on the inside. Our waitress was polite and friendly, but definitely busy. We hardly saw her, and had to go indoors for napkins and silverware. Also had to wait quite some time for refills. I can't blame the waitstaff if they're stretched thin, but it does make a difference to the diners. Now the food is what really earned this rating. It was... mediocre at best. I had a veggie burger, which in the past, I always enjoyed. But the taste fell really flat this time around. There was no seasoning or sauce on it, leaving it dry. My husband had a chicken sandwich which he said was bland. I'm not sure what happened to the menu lately, but I'm really disappointed with what transpired. Id say 31/2 stars if I could, Food was real tasty albeit a small restaurant .Nice waitress. Not crowded when we went food tasted fresh and full of flavor. We had wings ,pastrami sandwich with sweet potato fries, blue cheese burger with onion strings on it with a side of fries. . A couple glasses of Riesling and a couple of Stella's.They have a small bar area place appears larger than it really is. We definetly will be back and do recommend .. The casual atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable, with something for everyone - TVs for sporting events, live music, open-air seating, a fully-stocked bar, and a variety of draft beers, both classic and craft. The menu is updated seasonally, with fresh specials weekly. Highlights include their nachos with house-made chili, the Downtown Burger, and the lineup of Adult MilkShakes. Service is prompt and friendly, with each member of the staff saying hello or offering assistance as they pass by. Both food and drink are reasonably priced, with generous portions and pours. The only negative is the popularity of the bartenders (coughHarrisoncoughcough), as we are not always able to get a seat at the bar. On these occasions, we are always offered a table and drinks while we wait, and the staff is extremely accommodating. Five Points Cafe earns all five of its stars. Thursday afternoon, 1200, (about 20 minutes ago)wife and I walked in and waited at the hostess podium for a good minute or so. A women, presumably the hostess, stood behind the bar approximately 10 feet from us texting away on her phone, without looking up once. Place is empty, wife and I are TALKING, there was no way we weren't audible to her. This woman was clearly devising a plan for world peace, because at no point did she look up. I turned to my wife and told her we're leaving in 10 seconds if we don't get seated. Needless to say, walked out. It's disappointing, the place looked nice and many of the reviews are positive. Guess I won't find out. No chance I was gonna stand there while miss fast fingers types away and the wife and I are relegated to the "pay no mind" list. read more

I've been going to this burger cafe for years. The food is always great. Tonight we went there on a Sunday eve at 7:45 and the waitress treated us like we were a huge imposition! I asked her if they were closing cause the board was erased and no one greeted us. She said no no the kitchen is open until 8:30. There were customers seated and eating. She took our order and then very loudly was yelling at the kitchen people " I told you to keep the grill open!." We felt so awkward. On top of it she was snotty and was shutting off everything and telling staff they can go home and rushed us. We left there at 8:30. I took my mother and my daughter in law and two granddaughters here on Mother's Day for lunch. I had been here once before and had a good burger. We were there at noon and were seated on the patio. It took almost an hour to get served . The restaurant was not busy as the brunch crowd had gone. I twice asked what was going on with our order. I came here with my husband and 2.5 year old son for the first time this evening after hearing some positive feedback from friends. It is definitely a kid-friendly place and he really enjoyed watching and listening to the live music. Since it was our first try, my husband and I ordered burgers (BECAUSE IT'S A BURGER PLACE)... Positives: We thought the buns/toppings/meat quality were very good. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. I also got a $3.50 glass of wine, which was a nice surprise (Wine down Wednesday special). Negatives: Burgers were cooked more well done than medium, which we had requested. Some restaurant employees seemed to lack the hustle you'd expect to clear tables and seat customers promptly.
