Stopped in and it's giving off some old timey vibes, which can be fun! The bar was wide open so we picked a seat and were immediately helped. I ordered a Lady Mercy, it was pretty tasty. Tart and not sweet! Check it out!

I've been to this particular bar a handful of times on a Monday night and every time it's always the same great relaxing crowd at least two bartenders on hand and all the patrons seem very relaxed!! Bartenders are rather quick at making the drinks so there's not a long wait time and everything was very clean. I love how they have the jazz night set up where anybody can actually go and sing or play an instrument. The only odd thing I would say is that the water is on the inside of where the jazz players are improvising and playing their beautiful music. So you have to walk around the little entrance of the flat stage to get to the water. Maybe it's set up like that so the jazz players can get to the water easily, but as a member of the audience, I felt like I was walking into their bubble. Lol. I will definitely be back for another jazz night. If you go on a Saturday, they play more hip-hop music! It's a very different vibe! Lol.

I came here for Halloween and it was so cool! I loved the decorations and It theme they had, especially all the little details. It was very crowded but we were able to order in a decent amount of time and find a table to sit at. All of us unfortunately didn't like the Bill's Gonna Kill Me drink (the tan one, it was way too strong), but the other 2 were good! Definitely will be coming back.

I was here for a private event and had a nice experience. LOCATION This bar is conveniently located near San Pedro's square (SPS). You can park in the SPS parking lot which provides 90 minutes of parking for free and only $1 for each additional 15 minutes. It's a short 5 minutes walk from the parking lot to the bar. AMBIANCE I like the spaciousness and warm decorated vibes that this place gives. Noise level is reasonable. Their restrooms are also clean and tidy. SERVICES Our server was attentive and made me one of the best Amaretto Sour drinks. Overall, I enjoy this place. Though I haven't tried any of their food item yet, I heard good things about them from my friends who've been here before. I'll definitely consider Five Points next time.

Never been to Five Points before BUT this year they gave Miniboss some completion with Halloween themed drinks and because they are IT themed, I had to make my first visit! My friend and I came in after 7pm on a Wednesday and were able to find a table no problem. It is a bit small though so I imagine it's get packed on weekends. They have a daily special, Wednesday is whisky Wednesday however I was there for the IT drinks. The decor for IT was cute, I feel like they could have down way more as it's mostly red light up everywhere to give it that red glow and "Missing" posters of the members of the losers club and Pennywise cutouts. The drink had was the "You'll float too" and the menu said it tastes like banana bread. It did not in fact taste like banana bread but it was tasty just the same, super strong though and a bit more banana flavor would have been 100% welcome. The service was great so I would definitely come back again during "normal" time to try their drinks.

Five Points could be a Five Star Joint, but sadly, they fall just short. I've never eaten here, but before a game, I always manage to end up here for one last libation before the walk to the barn. This spot has so much going for it--rad backyard space, very clean bathrooms, good music and movies on, friendly and helpful service. My gripe is a real sticking point though--it just doesn't jive with me that they refer to themselves as "Downtown San Jose's Premier Cocktail Bar" when the specialty cocktails are batch made! I used to haunt this TINY cocktail bar in Corvallis, OR and not only did they make their own house infusions with local fruits, they made every last cocktail to order and would make any substitutions to the best of their abilities. My request wasn't even a hard to fulfill one--just to swap the vodka for gin--but it wasn't doable. And no shade to that bartender, but you can definitely taste the difference when you're a gin-drinker, despite his claim. Will it stop me from coming back? No way. Just might stick to basic drinks to get something more to my taste rather than the seasonal drinks.

Came in on a Saturday late afternoon. Was shocked that it wasn't that busy! The space itself is nice, but I will say it is quite dark in there! However, it did help the bar stand out and the bar is quite nice! The espresso martinis were delicious! The fish n chips were pretty good as well, but $23 for 2 pieces of fish is a bit pricey in my opinion. We had one server/bartender who was great and then had it switched over to another server, and they did not do as well.. we maybe only saw them once and didn't see them much more after that. Also had a tab open, and they were unable to find the tab for a minute.. Overall okay, but definitely was expecting better.

Not my personal cup of tea, but they do also offer sake and a few beers also. The first time we went, we ordered the arancini, bucatini, and the heritage pork katsu. I am a big advocate for trying new things every time I go to a restaurant, but it was so good I ordered the same thing the second time I went. Arancini is flavored with Japanese curry with creamy fontina in the center topped off with kimchi mayo. Holy f. These quite literally put the traditional Italian ones to shame (sorry not sorry). Next was the bucatini. It had tom yum butter, lime, basil- all the fix ins of what you want from tom yum flavors with the luxuriousness added from the butter. It was sinful. Last and certainly not least, is the pork katsu. I cannot even remember the last time I ordered a pork katsu, but something told me to order it. Thank God I did, as it quite literally changed my life. If they ever take it off the menu I am not sure I would be OK. It is crispy and is swimming in this koji butter, but the key is that it is NOT greasy. I quite literally think about it all the time. To the point where I had it twice in a week. Service was great, bartenders are so friendly. The place is cute and vibrant. Keep in mind it is small- limited seating inside and a small patio outside. But so worth the wait. First the knock, and to be fair, it's probably just an opinion / idea. Given the birth of natural wine and the South Bay, it would be wonderful to see a curated selection of tasting flights, no more than two or three options with anywhere from 3 to 6 wine wines each, priced accordingly. Maintaining a proper wine menu when all you do is natural wine can certainly be a challenge. If you wine flights depending on what you have would certainly elevate the customer experience by educating more people natural wine and helping them make better choices when it comes to a bottle purchase. I paid $61 for a bottle that was recommended, and at that price point I wonder how many people who are new to natural wine might be turned off. Chris was a wonderful host and certainly the right person to engage with customers around their various wines. Given how small the space is and how busy it can get, a weekly tasting flight menu might be a good way to engage those customers who are waiting to order at the bar and perhaps even spark a more productive conversation with Chris. We ordered the peach and ricotta dish with Thai basil... wow, a wonderful surprise. Peaches are always battling in and out of the top spot on my summer fruit list and this combination was downright dirty and delicious! We also ordered the raw oysters with watermelon mignonette. Another wow! I didn't expect the little spice kick and it was a perfect pairing to the sweetness of the watermelon. If anyone knows the recipe let me know, I'd bottle that mignonette and take it with me wherever I have oysters!! Overall, a great experience and I most definitely look forward to going back!

No big deal, as I wanted the bar anyway, but something others should keep in mind. The cocktail list is plentiful and intriguing. I tend to avoid tequila, so that eliminated a good chunk of the options. I went with Rose Colored Lenses, which was fantastic, and decently sized. Presentation was beautiful. My friend had All a Dream, also very good. The wine offerings are minimal, this is very much a cocktail or champagne type of place, with caviar being the primary food service. Speaking of service, the bartender was excellent, both in his mixology and demeanor. It took awhile to get the drinks, but I assume that was due to the complexity of the cocktails, paired with having just opened the doors a few min earlier. Two notes: 1. The barstools were a little too low, imo. I don't normally pay much attention to that detail, but these were uncomfortably low for me, even with my long torso, I was hyper aware of my posture. So maybe that's actually a good thing 2. Other patrons were rolling in shortly behind me, so there is probably an early crowd when they first open, then a late night group that appreciates the 2am closing time. Interior is beautiful, and you can use the steps up to the 2nd floor either from N Santa Cruz or the rear parking lot off W Main. More substantial food options are a mere few steps across the hall at Heritage.
