However, it felt like we got a new group of inexperienced baristas. I asked for extra ice, light water in my americano and it had 5 cubes of ice. Stopped in to pick up our favorite beans. The woman behind the counter was quite rude and told me she didn't have time to bag them for me. The store was NOT busy. Really? I was ready to buy four pounds of beans and the employee didn't have time to help a paying customer? Very unfriendly. I'll find another place to buy my coffee next time. read more

On the way to continue exploring we chose to stop at Five Rivers Coffee Roasters. We each ordered a basic latte and took a seat while they were prepared. The space itself it super awesome especially for the area. The outdoor seating is also very charming and inviting and is probably great on slightly warmer days. Our latte's were good for sure but not life changing by any means and to be honest we expected a little better from a place that roasts their own beans! The coffee, cookies and pastry we had were all great. My only knock from being 5 stars is that they advertise as being a "restaurant"and we went there expecting to order breakfast. Just Coffee drinks, cookies and pastries were available, but again, all were top notch. And yes, we would return when we aren't planning on having breakfast. read more

I pretty much professionally drink coffee and I was a huge fan of this cuppa. There was some nutty-ness going on in the undertones and I couldn't get enough. The space is also super cute, with additional outdoor seating that's great for a lovely day. We stopped here for our daily serving of caffiene while on a road trip. The space is cute and a more upscale than your typical small town café, with lots of wood throughout. Their coffee is also better than average, good not great. They have non-dairy milk options, soy and almond and possibly one more I can't recall. Their full breakfast and lunch menu is served all day. They have a vegan sandwich option if you order it sans cream cheese. My vegan partner thought it needed vegan cream cheese, mustard (they legit don't have mustard), and sprouts to elevate it to "perfect veggie sandwich" status. It comes with chips, specifically Lay's. Partner recommends kettle chips instead, with Tim's being the obvious choice but Kettle Co or even Miss Vickie's would be an improvement. I ordered a "bagel" breakfast sandwich that was perfectly acceptable but came on bread in the shape of a bagel. (I had wanted a breakfast burrito but they aren't made to order so can't be made vegetarian.) When we stopped by, it seemed like they weren't quite all the way up and running - ongoing construction outside, not having basic condiments, etc. Hopefully they can tweak a couple things on the menu as they get more settled in and become a solid option for veg folks traveling through Tillamook. read more

The spinach salad with chicken was delightful and the staff was super helpful, even suggesting some spots to visit on the coast. And baked goods looked amazing! The shop itself is very cool. The Oregon coast has a lot to offer but tasty, single origin espresso isn't exactly what it's known for. With a glut of overly sugary coffee stands every 10 miles on 101 I found five rivers to be a caffeine gem in a less than awesome coffee situation. We loved the old Five Rivers, it was cozy, eclectic. They remodeled a couple years ago and it has become very sterile. They've gone with an "industrial" look, which I guess is super hip in Portland. But it is now very uncomfortable. A large group table is the center of attention in the main room, not comfortable at all. Service and food has gone down hill as well. It takes too long to get drinks, even when no one is there. We miss the old Five Rivers! read more

We stopped to buy two latte's. A caramel Latte and a skinny caramel latte. Mine was awful. There basically was no caramel in it. My wife's tasted like they put the wrong flavor in. It tasted nothing like what we ordered. Needless to say, we threw them away. 9 bucks completely wasted. There is a Starbucks just down the street. Regardless of what you think Starbucks is consistent and if they screw it up they replace it immediately. Sorry five rivers, you just didn't make the grade. read more

So I come out to the coast alot to go camping and agate hunting. This morning was a chill 36* ......all I could think of was heading to this place. Every time, without fail, I get a great breve, yummy bagel breakfast sandwich. The bagels taste fresh and perfect to hold the ham, egg, cheese and bacon... The staff is very friendly and welcoming, the place itself is clean, cute and they play fun retro music. What a great little spot. It doesn't look like much from the road, but once you're tucked inside, it's a great little coffee shop with super-friendly baristas and a great little selection of pastries, coffee, tea, etc. I was on a trip to the coast with my dad and boyfriend and (unfortunately) needed a place with wi-fi where I could hang out for an hour and attend a work web conference (super annoying). I am so lucky I found this place! They didn't mind me hanging out in a comfy corner, sipping on tea and hogging their wifi and electrical outlets. They made what could potentially a stressful day (trying to travel and work remotely in a small coastal town) a really nice experience. This is just a review of the coffee. We called in to the Tillamook farmers market on a saturday and bought the Espresso roast beans. I was very happy when I got home and fired some through the espresso machine. Very rich full flavor and not over roasted or burned as some other Portland roasters I have tried.
