I have always been a big fan of this place but I have to admit, the last couple of visits were a bit off. My very unpicky friend ordered the Kung Pao tofu and did not even bother taking home her leftovers since she felt the whole dish was utterly tasteless. I had the stir fried beef with veggies and, though it was certainly edible, it was extremely bland and not flavorful enough to recommend. Additionally, on a previous visit, I ordered the tofu mushroom hot pot ( which is still very good) but requested a bit of extra garlic. When the bill came, we noticed they charged us a dollar extra for this! We're talking about a few grains of seasoning! We really like the food here. We've been three times and it's been pretty tasty each time. The service is quick and quite friendly. When I come in during lunch because of the offerings they have on their menu. For $15 you get an appetizer the main course and soup. Since we were just visiting the area it took us a bit to find the restaurant, but glad we did. We were the only ones inside the restaurant at that time so were greeted right away. Took a moment to decide on what we wanted, but with recommendations from server, we ordered quite of few items. Since I am a fan of Won Ton soup and it had been raining (like it can in Oregon) I ate most of it, it was so good, along with my sweet and sour pork I think the only one that had left overs was my husband - he had ordered Kao Pao. We ordered the crispy Szechuan chicken and it was absolutely fantastic! We like it a bit spicy so I ordered it that way and would definitely eat this again and again and again!! in addition, we had the crab puffs. They were good, but not crispy. Minus the very tips, the rest was soft. read more

No "chef" cooking here but rather flat tasting LO mein with no flavor other than drenched noodles in soy sauce and unfresh broccoli and stirred onions and soggy snow peas. Teriyaki chicken had diluted teriyaki sauce over cold rice and a lot of lettuce in big pieces. Spring rolls were hard as a brick and soggy inside. Sorry but not impressed. Panda is better. read more

My family and I ate here today. It depends on what I order, but that's more of a diet preference. I'm not a big fan of Chinese food with a bunch of breading all over it, in sugar. So this time, I ordered the kung pao chicken. It was excellent. It had a lot of vegetables in it, the chicken tasted good, and the portion was substantial. I've only ordered takeout at this place, and they're always polite on the phone, so I can't really attest to the service beyond their ability to take phone orders and have the food ready on time. I have been there a couple of times to pick up the food, but never dined there. The setup reminds me of a video poker lounge. It's not dirty or sparkling clean; it looks like your average Chinese restaurant. Overall, it's a decent place to eat lunch or dinner. read more

Our close friends suggested Lungfung in Lake Oswego, we typically stick to our local go to Chinese restaurant but we wanted to venture out, It is located in a small shopping mall right off of Boones Ferry road, so parking is slightly limited. The interior is cozy, with lots of windows that face the main road and natural ceiling lighting. They have a small bar top space and a small simi-private dining section. We stopped by during lunch on a weekend. The staff is very friendly and attentive, while we were dining there were 5 other parties, the two servers did a great job keeping up with drink refills and requests. They offer a lunch menu which has a large variety of options, we have heard that it gets very busy during lunch and dinner. The food was amazing, we tried the vegetable deluxe Wok with Chicken, great portions of protein and very fresh veggies including, carrots, red onion, broccoli, mushrooms, snap peas and ginger, great tasting dish, very crisp veggies and very filling. We also tried the Sizzle Black Pepper dish with beef, and over hard egg with noodles, the portion is perfect for an individual meal, good amount of protein with broccoli. Our sides were crab puffs and gyoza, very well cooked and not greasy, great flavor and the gyoza sauce was very tasteful with a light touch of spice. We topped the dinner off with an order of Fried rice, huge portion that three of us shared, lost of veggies included. I am looking forward to exploring the rest of the menu, they seem to use high qualify produce and proteins at a reasonable price. I would highly recommend that you give them a try. read more

Awhile ago I saw Yelp's top 100 Chinese restaurant in the US and Lungfung was rated #41. I told my daughter and son in law that it was close to there house and should try it. For months they have been going and trying different dishes for lunch. They said it's there favorite Chinese restaurant now. We celebrated Fathers day a day early with my granddaughter, daughter and son in law for a special dinner. As we ordered our food, one of the owners ask my granddaughter ( who is 4 years old) if she would like to see the kitchen. She was so excited. That was a very nice gesture. We ordered the following dishes. Sesame Chicken, Lo Mein Noodles with Tofu, Vegetable Deluxe with Chicken , Beef Teriyaki, and a side of Lo Mein Noodles for my granddaughter. I understand why Lungfung has a high rating . The portions and the food are terrific. The service is excellent. All of the staff are friendly and will take care of all of your needs. Have you heard the one about the person who walked into the restaurant? Lungfung is no joke. You instantly feel like family when you walk into their unassuming establishment. This is a family-run business, and their pride in the work is evident when the staff greets you at the door. It would be easy to get thrown off by Lungfung's strip mall and nondescript location and think it is just another mediocre suburban restaurant. Such an assumption would need to be corrected. This is a real gem of a place--one of those--"let me tell you about this really great Chinese American restaurant I know . . . " kind of places. What made the experience even more impactful and valuable was that I ordered online, picked up the food, and forgot to include an organic chicken. We were craving Chinese food and wanted to try a new spot. We were in the area on lungfung and decided to give it a try and we are glad we did! The restaurant was extremely clean when you walk in a the staff very welcoming. We were quickly seated and brought water ever though they were busy. They were continually pushing out to go orders. What a cute and clean establishment. Everything was two thumbs up at Lungfung wok N grill! The waitstaff was friendly and attentive. The restaurant was clean and comfortable, and the food was fantastic! The egg flour soup was delicious and not weighed down with tons of veggies. Some sweet corn and savory egg chicken broth hit the spot to get our appetites whet. Just how I remember it as a kid years ago! It was perfect! The crab Rangoon were filled with just the right amount of cream cheese and crab, and fried a beautiful crispy brown. My husband got the sesame chicken and I got the chicken teriyaki. Both dishes were delicious. I really enjoyed stealing off my husbands plate cause the sesame chicken really was outstanding. The teriyaki chicken was wonderful, too....picking off my spouse's plate is certainly not a criticism about the teriyaki. It also came with a side salad that had the tastiest creamy Asian dressing over crispy iceberg lettuce. A very nice accompaniment to the teriyaki! I would order it again in a heartbeat. Lung Fung is a wonderful addition to the area! We've gone twice now and have been pleased with both the friendly service and the delicious food. I admit I had low expectations because Chinese food in the suburbs is subpar in my opinion. So I was pleasantly surprised when the food was truly tasty and spicy! Singapore Rice noodles - mild curry flavor, not spicy, but really full of flavor Fried Rice with bacon - nice umami going on. I assumed "bacon" would be pork belly but it was actually bacon Made a great lunch the next day. Mongolian Beef - good flavor, not overly full of onions like so many other places. Very tender beef! Sichuan Spicy wontons - HELL YES, ORDER THESE! Very spicy, good amount of filling. I'd eat these all day. Salt & Pepper Chicken - it was fried chicken, yes, but a bit dry and not spiced well. It needed more salt or other seasonings. Sizzler Black Pepper grill with chicken -It was okay, but didn't wow us. It tasted like mild teriyaki chicken w/ some noodles and an egg on top. Dongan Chicken - I wasn't sure what to expect. What is "Dongan sauce"? it was like a semi-spicy brown sauce on chicken pieces, surrounded by steamed broccoli. It was fine. Portion sizes were generous, prices are not cheap but the ingredients are quality. They got their liquor license by the time we went the second time. I don't recommend the mixed drinks - they are not great as they don't have a real bartender and tended to be very sweet/mostly mixer. But we'll be back, oh yes we will, and there will be spicy wontons on our table for sure. Happy they're here and hope they do well. read more

I live just down the road and have driven by 100s of times but after reading a review in Lake Oswego paper as one of best Chinese food in US, I decided to stop. Best decision I could have made. I read somewhere that this interestingly named establishment was on the list of highest rated Chinese restaurants on Yelp nationally. I had driven past it numerous times, before giving it a whirl. Glad I did, because Lungfung mostly lived up to the hype. We've been a couple times and have tried both the salt and pepper shrimp and calamari. The shrimp was great, but the squid was a bit too rubbery (likely frozen, not fresh). Successful dishes were Singapore Noodles and Eggplant and Ground Beef, both were seasoned nicely and tasted fresh. Our kids also had Orange Chicken, which was fine, but not outstanding. Portions are big and our servers were prompt and friendly. The dining room is cozy and inviting with cocktail jazz streaming over the speakers and football on a TV over a small bar. While maybe not one of the best Chinese restaurants in the country (yet) in my book, it's the best I've had in Lake Oswego and worth a try. (4.25 stars). read more
