I saw on the door that they served Halal fried chicken. Ordered the lightly spiced parm bowl. Chucks of crispy fried chicken, crinkle fries, Cole slaw, pickles, and lettuce all in a bowl. The combo was dusted with a magic blend of spices. It was the perfect find for me! This place made me sick after my first visit when they opened. The flavor just aint it and the artifical cheese is plasticy. The breading on the chicken seperates and doesnt actually stick to the chicken. Maybe its old chicken or not stored properly. If you like this spot, i can tell what quality chicken you can tolerate . So many chicken places these days and they all taste like sysco foods. The service was good, ill give them that. read more

We stopped in here to get lunch/dinner to go on the road. The place is clean, with a couple small tables inside & a few outside. The cashier(perhaps owner) was welcoming, friendly & efficient. The food was really good. The chicken was crunchy & juicey. A difficult task for most. Our favorite things were the chicken & the pickles! Really good. Best fried chicken sandwich I've had! I had been wanting to check this place out, I was in the area so my kids and I decided to stop by for a late lunch. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich. My kids got the regular. The spice level was not very spicy for me (I love spicy food so take it as you will), so next time I will get more spicy. But the flavor, the crispness and the sauce were delicious. The fries were crispy/fresh. The blue raspberry lemonade was also good/refreshing. The staff if friendly. Came in 1:00PM on a Sunday afternoon, and there were about 3 other pairs in the restaurant. We opted to sit outside and they created such a nice comfortable space. The tables were clean and you're surrounded by "greenery". Food: BF ordered the Five Star chicken sandwich combo $11.99 (combo means comes with fries only) and I had the 3 tenders non-spicy $15.99 (comes with fries, a pickle slice on top of each tender, and side of kick'n sauce). They also have ranch, mustard, sweet and sour sauce available. Their kick'n sauce was very good and is a must on their tenders. What really stood out for me I think is their fry, it is crispy crunchy perfection. Chicken was moist/not-dry on the inside. The strawberry sunrise lemonade $3.99 was cold and sweet and worked well with our meal. Service: They gave us the wrong order but made things right. They definitely live up to the 5 star in their name. My meal came about 10 minutes after ordering. If you're a fan of hot honey chicken, this spot is a must-try. The spicy version was easily the best thing we ordered, and honestly, all the food was great. The chicken itself is cooked to perfection, not greasy, overly battered, or too salty. It's crispy, flavorful, and ranks among the top three I've ever had. And that's saying something because I've been to Howlin' Ray's in LA's Chinatown, which is considered the gold standard. 5 Star Chicken is definitely up there with the best. The only real downside is the patio area; it's pretty barebones, basically a parking lot with a canopy. It has a lot of potential, and I really hope they invest in making it a more inviting space. Coming back here, is still my favorite fried chicken sandwich in Vallejo. But one flaw is add a light salt option for fries on the app. It has a crispy fries option so they do taste delicious even with to go orders and cheese on them so it's not that soggy. One thing unique about them is that they carry Vimto syrup(an old British fruity soft drink) and use to create mixed drinks with soda, red bull, and even shakes. Ordered an Hot Honey Chicken sandwich ($9) and a side of mac and cheese($5). Tucked in once back at work. The sandwich had a soft toasted brioche bun. One big fat chicken strip over a bed of coleslaw. Was missing the ranch sauce. Chicken was crunchy and still very juicy. Had a bit of heat, was not sure if that was from the hot honey though. Cole slaw provide a nice contrast. However, you can get Popeyes and Chick-fil-A for more food and cheaper. The mac and cheese was ok. Really did not expect much for the 4oz.
