We been going to Ormond's Beach 5 Star since they open . Was very satisfied with food and service . The last 3 visit has changed our opinion completely. The pizza dough does not seam as freash , very thin crust, the cheese not as freash . The cinnamon bits were very dry . Our regular thought after eating was when the next time !! These bad trips has us looking again for a good Florida pizza which is hard to fine . But the old 5 star had it down . I like Five Star Pizza, their food is good and the service can be nice at times too, but one night I ordered a Large cheese Pizza and a Large Cheese stick and the guy on the phone got my order wrong and he accused me of trying to get free food because I guess people do that often, and I had to explain to him that that's not the case I just ordered something different than what was given to me and I want what I Ordered ill pay the difference. He was very upset and frustrated and rude I felt so uncomfortable and at that point I didn't even want the food anymore. This place is getting bad. The last time I ordered, it took 1.5 hours to get the pizza and when we did it was cold. We were given a credit towards the next time we ordered. We ordered this evening but did not use the credit. The pizza again, was cold. The pizza had been out for delivery for 40 mins before we got it. One of the owners delivered the pizza just like last time and when he handed the pizza to me, he said nice and hot...seriously?? It was room temperature at best. We use to order from here a lot and after tonight we will never order from this place again. My neighbors even quit ordering from Five Star Pizza. Papa Johns and Dominos from now on. read more

The service is excellent, it's open very late, and and they even deliver during hurricanes. That's pretty crazy and cool. It's a great late-night option if in the area and hungry. The pizza is good--I would rate it a 4.1. I think some people would rate it higher. Definitely worth a shot to see if it's for you. read more

First things first, masks are not worn and do not appear to be required for the customers or staff. Ordering over the phone was quick and simple. Food was ready within their quoted time. Food looks and tastes DELICIOUS. I got a small pizza 1/2 deluxe and 1/2 Hawaiian and a small order of the cheese sticks. I know what you're probably thinking and yes I like pineapple on my pizza it tastes good, okay? Delicious pizza with the perfect sauce. 4 sizes (small 10" to extra large 24" for a small village). My wife and I had an 18" and I have to say 2 prices were filling leaving 6 prices to take home for the next day. They have 11 delivery vehicles at this location and you will often seen 2-3 cross paths on a drive around Ormond Beach. My wife thinks this is the best but I still put Bronx house above it for tast. This place just stole $52.44 from me right before Christmas and worst yet ruined a work lunchin that we put together for some employees. I place an order online that required a prepay (No real issue with that as long as the food shows up.) I called when it was late and spoke with two wonderful female employees that tried in vain to help. They explained that they had no record of the order. I texted them the receipt that showed everything entered correctly. They confirmed that everything was correct, and the receipt was from their store. They apologized and mentioned that they were very busy and that the manager would have to help me. As they called for the manager, he responded that he is too busy and for them to put me on hold. After several minutes, by now it was 20mins after the pizza should have arrived, the manager gets on the phone and proceeds to tell me that he can't control what someone enters when placing an online order insinuating I made a mistake when ordering.(In hind sight he was right my mistake was ordering from 5 star in Ormond Beach) To which I say "did you look at the receipt that I sent over". He said "yes", I then said "then you already know I didn't enter anything wrong and don't apricate you being condescending and trying shift the blame to me." We went back and forth with him saying they don't have a record of it to which I would say yes you do I provided you your own receipt and have a debit out of my account for $52.44 to five star pizza in Ormond Beach. My thought is that his plan was to take that money right before Christmas, by deleting the order then just making me a pizza later with no record. At this point I had enough of this condescending person and was done with the conversation. I have filed the debit as the fraud it is and will ensure that my company NEVER buys anything from them. Lenny's is better and slightly cheaper we are just outside of their delivery range, but the way 1star treats their customers its worth going and getting a superior pie. I've recently moved to the area and saw a neighbor order from 5 star so I decided to try it. I ordered the cheesestix, garlic rolls and chicken bites. The garlic rolls were far better than I expected. Very buttery and rich. The cheese used on the cheesestix was really good. Generous amount of cheese as well. The delivery was extremely fast. I've ordered from here a few times. The reason for 3 stars isn't because of the pizza but because of the owner's response to an issue with ordering online. I tried to order online and when I got to my address it said they couldn't deliver there but I see their cars all over my neighborhood. I called it in and they said they delivered here all day so I made the order/purchase over the phone. The totally amount was over a $1 more than my price I had for checkout online. I told the young man on the phone, he then asked Billy the owners and his response was least desirable. Honestly it was $1 and who cares but he wanted to ask him anyway. So okay. First Billy said that I may have put the wrong address in. Nope, I know where I live. Then he said I could've been ordering from the wrong store. Nope, I was ordering from the Ormond Beach Nova road shop. Then he said "I dunno." Perhaps the better response would be that he'd look into it to see what the issue is with the website so that customers can continue to order online and see about the price difference they was happening. Can't get the flavor out of my mouth. Too much dough for my taste. Really this just reminds me of a pizza you'd give to kids at a birthday party in the bowling alley. Got a 16 inch for 3 adults to split and there's still half of the pizza left... just my opinion but when I think pizza, I'm thinking thin crust and Italian spices. Our service and food was terrible. We ordered our pizza online and watched our order status for over an hour and it never updated. Eventually we called to be told our pizza had been done for over 30 minutes and the site service wasn't working. At that point we'd asked if the pizza, wings and rolls were still good and fresh knowing we'd spent some $65 dollars for dinner. They told us they were going to remake the pizzas but not the other food. Not wanting to be too difficult, we did agree. Though they did say the food would be ready when we got there, which doesn't make sense if they were remaking anything. Once we got home with the pizzas, being less than 5 minutes away. We just moved here and have been trying out different pizza places in Ormond a couple times a month. We ordered Five star and were not disappointed but I do feel like this is a certain "style" of pizza. If you are craving New York pizza, this is not the spot for you. If you are looking for thicker/deep dish, this is not the spot for you. The Five Star pie has a mid-thick crust and a sweeter style sauce. Lots of cheese and a generous amount of toppings. I'd recommend this pizza for large gatherings or family dinners, because it's a good option for pleasing people with all different pizza expectations. read more

I didn't order a regular pizza, I ordered the Buffalo Chicken. I like spicy food but whatever wing sauce you are using is way too hot! I've had a lot of Buffalo chicken pizzas and this is by far the hottest I've had and it's not in a good way. My most recent review was for Domino's Pizza, which I switched to after Pizza Hut closed down their store in Ormond Beach. We have been happy with Domino's, but my step-son (who works for Pizza Hut) suggested that we try Five Star Pizza. We've had it 3 times now, and I have to say it is now our favorite. First off, something I have been complaining about for years now is that all the big pizza chains have reduced their 'large' pizzas to only 14 inches. When I was a kid, 14" was a SMALL pizza (14", 16", 18"). Five Star Pizza offers 12, 16, 18, and 24 inch pizzas! We have only ordered the 'Specialty' pizzas so far, in both 16" and 18". The 'Specialty' pizzas are all one price, based on size, and there are 11 pizzas on this list, and they can be customized. Online ordering is very easy, delivery time is exceptionally fast, and the delivery people have all been very friendly and polite. As for the pizza itself, the toppings are very generously applied, and taste fresh. The sauce is perfect, and they are also very generous with the cheese. The only thing that could be better is the crust. They offer regular and garlic, and I really can't tell the difference. Pizza Hut's garlic crust is MUCH better, but Five Star fills their pizzas almost to the edge with toppings, so there is barely any plain crust left anyway. Five Star may seem to be a bit 'pricey', but if you consider the size and generous toppings, I think the price compares favorably with the big chains un-discounted prices. I don't mind paying a little more for equal/better quality and definitely more quantity. read more

This location is very rude! I am here visiting from out of town and tried to order a pizza. I called in to order and they refused to take my order. According to their records they can't deliver or take a carryout order from me. I advised the manager that I am here visiting and there is no reason to band me from there location. I was professional and did not raise my voice. He was very nasty and unprofessional!! In my opinion they need to make sure they have accurate records before refusing to serve someone that they don't no. My recommendation is to get your records correct and actually listen instead of losing customers that are unknown to you! read more

Found on Yelp. I was in the area and thought, why not. Only opened for a month at this location. A little hard to find but in the strip mall.They have a few other locations/restaurants in the area. Salvatore explained that they make the dough daily, cut the items, etc. Every also deliver for 99 cents. I guess this is a great deal for delivery. He talked me into getting a pizza. No slices but individual pies. He said it's not NY pizza but it's very good. So he made me a pizza as i watched. He really believes in his pizza and quality. He pounded out my pie, poured on the sauce and piled on the cheese. So far so good. There is a table you can sit on and eat your pizza but only 2 tables and 4 chairs so don't bring all your friends or family. Finally, the pie is done and i sit to eat. Burning hot pizza, just the way i like it. I take my first bite. Hum, not to bad. Plenty of flavor. Good sauce. Good cheese. Pretty good. Salvatore was right. This pizza is good. I would definitely go back for another pie. So try it, i think you will like it also. I hope salvatore is there and makes your pie. He puts everything into making the best he can.
