This was my first time coming to Five Star and I was pleasantly surprised. She totally gutted the old Nail Pro which was a great because as most people who live in the area know that place was DIRTY! The owner and the girls who work there were extreamly pleasant and courteous. I had a jelly pedicure which was great and my eyebrows done. Would definitely recommend this place everything they use is her medically sealed and thrown away after they are done.... I was looking for a nail salon for a mani and pedi after working out at the gym. I looked in Yelp and found Five Stars Nails. When you enter, you are greeted by multiple staff members. I went at about 3:30 on a Thursday and waited 5 mins after I picked my colors. The nail tech did a great job and was very sweet. Think her name is Sara. Not only is this salon clean, everyone was very friendly. A mani and pedi ran $30 but well worth it. I will return. read more

Decided to give this place another chance, finally decided I won't be returning. They totally overbook appointments, and have an unsafe amount of people in there at once. A powder mani and regular pedi took over 2 hours. Not to mention the girl burned or cut every single finger with the drill. read more

Yesterday my usual nail salon couldn't see me for an appointment so I was recommended here by a close friend. I'm extremely picky when it comes to my nails so I was a little hesitant at first. I do UV Gel on my nails and was relieved to see they use the same brand my nail salon uses. Jessica was so nice and listened to all of my preferences. Fair price and happy to see a Chinese business in this neighborhood (yay!) as I haven't speak Chinese for months after moving in with my fiancé. I wish I could give this place 0 stars. I walked in at about 3pm and everyone just looked at me. I asked if I could get my nails and toes done. A nail tech asked if I had an appointment and I answered no. The nail tech said you have to have an appointment. The shop was kinda empty so I asked if they had any appointments available for that day. They whispered and spoke amongst themselves then the nail tech told me no. I left. I felt funny about the situation so I decided to call when I got in my car. I asked if they had any appointments available for today and whoever answered the phone told me to come at 4pm. That's real funny since they had no appointments when I was standing in the shop 2 minutes prior. I had another friend call and they told him to come in right away. I don't know what the problem was but this place is definitely not for me. I'm an African American female and pray that wasn't the reason they wouldn't take me. I had been going to Five Star for over a year, they do a good job with the nails, however they are shady and have completely turned me off with their business ethics. This is the third time they did this to me with a gift certificate, and I will no longer be spending my money there. The first time, my sister went in to get me a certificate for my birthday, they charged her $145 and told her that was what I always got... basically they charged her for services I never once got. The second time I got one for my mom, told them exactly what to do for her when she came in... instead they did what they wanted and charged her more when she cashed out. This last time they did the same thing insisting I spend X amount of dollars because the person I got the certificate for always gets these services, come to find out she never once got the extra services they pushed me to pay for. This time I demanded the extra money back and will never go there again. Their loss, I spent a lot of money in there and always tipped well. I do not like that they treat good customers this way and do not recommend them. read more

I've been to this place a couple of times before and never really had an issue other than a long wait time (even with an appointment). However, the way I was treated today was absolutely horrendous. I always call before I go in because I understand they are busy. I was willing to come in any time today that they were available so when I called around 1030am and was told I can come in at 11, I was extremely happy. I initially wanted only a manicure and once I got there, Jenny asked me if I wanted to do a pedi while I waited for my nails to soak off. I said sure and she did my pedicure. Then, she began my nails. As she was cleaning my nails, she suddenly told me to get up and go sit at another nail techs station and took on another client that came WAY AFTER I did. The girl she passed me on to not only completely ruined my entire manicure but also my cuticles. She was extremely aggressive with my nails and my manicure looked messy. I looked over to the nail tech next me and I told her I need it redone. It looked horrible. She told me she will fix it. Once I sat down, she tried to tell me the one hand that was done looked fine (it did not, my nails were different shapes and the polish was so clumpy). I asked her to redo the entire manicure and she did so by rushing. She was clearly annoyed by me wanting my nails fixed. In the end, she did a good job but my nails were not the way I wanted them done because the previous nail tech ruined the length and shape. I am deeply disappointed to leave such a negative review of this place based on a one time experience. But I thought it was extremely unfair to kick me out of a seat and pass me on to someone clearly not capable of doing a manicure to take on what seemed to be a regular client. read more

First I love how bright and airy the place feels! And even just walking in I was quickly acknowledged and all the girls there were so nice and friendly!!!! I had just a pedi done, and I loved that everything is opened from new packages!!! My pedi came out great!! Also the leg massage with the pedi I never wanted it to end!! Pricey and job not well done. And, it's tacky when workers speak to each other about the customers in mandarin. Customer service goes beyond hello and bye. The reason we go to salons and spas is to feel pampered; relaxed and have the work done properly. Went to this place to get French tips using the dipping powder and French pedi around 5:40pm on Sunday and asked the lady (Jessica) if my work will be rush and she ensure no since closing time was not that far away. After getting my French tips; she didn't even clean under the nails to remove excess material and the French pedi wasn't proper dry when they insisted I wrap my toes with clear plastic and put my shoes on so they can leave.. got home and the pedi was completely messed up. Total spent $80 plus tips $8. After few days my thumb nail broke off and I went to fix it. $15 plus $3 what a waste the worker didn't even try to properly match the other thumb. And, the moment I walked in she seem annoyed that I broke it and two of the other ladies walked over speak mandarin over my head looking at the broken nail. Will not be going back there! read more

I wish I could give no stars because this is what this place deserves. I had an 11am appointment for a gel fill in and pedicure. My usual spot is dashing diva but I cheaped out and went to a place in my neighborhood... never again. It took the woman an hour and half to do the fill in and one gel replacement tip, where dashing diva takes 35 minutes tops. Every nail is a different shape and length and there also is polish all over my cuticles. I was so angry, I didn't even stick around for the pedicure. I also got charged a $4 surcharge because I used a credit card. I will never come here again. They definitely need to go back to school to re-train. read more

I've tried this place about 3 times. The first time I loved it. The 2nd time I went, I barely waited and sat to do SNS. They didn't shape or file nor clean my cuticles- so I asked if they can do that before dipping my nail in powder. Instead of saying yes or I will or any other response, they start talking in their language. I ignored it because at the end of the day, I'm the one that's paying. Don't come here. Just please don't waste your time. They do greet you when you come in but you'll sit there forever because they take people they know before you. They don't let you know anything. I say there for more than an hour before I even got taken. To only sit another almost thirty minutes in the pedicure chair to wait. If they were booked or super busy they should at least say something. But they don't. They just let other people go ahead of you. Never mentioning anything about appointments or a wait time either. But sadly even people who didn't have appointments went in front of me. I'm sorry they are extremely h unprofessional and unorganized. I told them I had gel and instead of at least having me soak while I wait they wait till they finally decide to take me to than have me soak and wait. I've been here three times. Love coming here. Each time they are so thorough, kind, professional and are very talented at what they do. It's easy to walk in and get whatever service needed. I really love the lavender spa pedicure, because they do not rush and do a great job! They are also very accommodating of any needs you have- my mom picked a color and she wound up not loving it.
