Went in for an early dinner with my husband. Sat in the bar area because we wanted to check out happy hour. They have a good beer selection and our drinks were delicious. I got the French onion soup and it was just wrong. It was onions boiled in chicken broth with a tiny piece of baguette with that white American cheese on top. I barely touched it and told the bar tender I didn't like it but it wasn't taken off the bill. Our entrees were really good though. I got the salmon and he got the flat iron steak. My only complaint there is that while my husband's asparagus was cooked to a crunchy perfection, mine was too mushy to even cut. We'll be back again to give it another shot. read more

I cannot believe I woke up this morning and I was still upset about the service from yesterday 2/14/2014. The waiting time is acceptable since it was Valentines; however, if you set a menu in front of me and let me read it for 10 min and then the waitress comes and tells me by the way, "we are out of the chicken Plate" which cost $22 and the Rib-Eye $29. What am I supposed to eat? I was really really disappointed again. This was the 2nd and last time I give this place a chance. Worst Customer Service EVER!!!!! Went there to celebrate Mother's Day. Made a walk in reservation. Waited for 1 hour and was kept being told that they we were to be seated after everyone else. There was 3 visible tables available, very unprofessional. I have skin cancer and am unable to sit under the sun he said OKAYYY?... they lost out on $250-300 bill. Today was our anniversary, so we decided to get take-out. We chose 510 Bistro because (1) we wanted to support local business; (2) We had eaten there many times over the years, and (3) they offered a wide range of menu choices. We ordered online on GrubHub--we were able to choose our delivery time and have the order left on our porch. A few nights ago a friend of mine's family came in to eat here, and all the customers were saying racist things to them, not only was the behavior not confronted by management, BUT THE BARTENDERS CHIMED IN THEMSELVES, chanting USA, USA, USA in the families face. Okay so where to begin. I just ate at Five Ten about an hour ago. My friend and I wanted to treat our girlfriends to a nice dinner. Price wasn't really an issue and we'd heard a few good things. Upon sitting down and ordering we were met with a semi-pleasant looking meal. We ordered the 510 Pene, (can't remember the name of the burger), and a Flat Iron Steak with Gorgonzola, mushrooms, and onions. The rasberry cheesecake, and a brownie sundae. The steak was my meal. I ordered my steak Medium Rare (expecting it to be Rare or Well-Done) I am a fan of a rare steak but expected for it to be messed up. Upon receiving it I was met with exactly what I expected a Rare steak. Taking my first bite I was met with a VERY overpowering taste from the sauce and onions(which had been sauted far too long) yet; there was something missing. The taste of steak! There was little to no taste to the steak. This was paired with a rather bad cut of meat which was tough to chew and left a few rather hard stringy bits in my teeth. Scrapping off the overpowering sauce/topping I decided to try the steak on it's own. Subpar. The garlic mash and steamed vegetables that came with it were simply.....tasteless. My girlfriend who chose the 510 Pinee would be better to comment on her food; but from the few spoonfuls I tasted it was simply bland and tasteless. The sauce was far too creamy; yet still tasteless. The only taste I could find in the chicken and was still bland. The burger as I was told carried a bun that tasted burnt, and a patty that was simply tasteless. The fries which came with the burger...no crisp and a taste that closely resembled that of McDonalds(good, but doesn't warrant the price.) On to desert, the raspberry cheesecake tasted like a mixture of a Ready-Made Betty-Crocker cake fresh out of the box, and a cheesecake Quest Bar (protein bar). Their brownie sunday? Walnuts toasted far too much leaving an uncomfortable coffee brittle flavor in one's mouth. While the service was altogether good I will not be going back to Five Ten in the foreseeable future. Much left to be desired, to the waitresses I must say "Thank you for the smiles and good service." to the chef...."Quit your job, or go back to cooking school." read more

One of the best tasting meals I've had here in the central valley. Good to come home from Vegas and see someone here is taking the same pride in making things in house and using local products. I don't like to say I give bad reviews of places because I think everything has something unique to offer. With this being said, my main complaint to their restaurant is their service. Their manager literally lied to our face declaring we were rude to her waiters and cut off our bottles. We were not rowdy, nor rude. I think that they may have bad experience with other customer but to have this paranoia is gross. Alcohol retains responsibility and if you think all of your customers are irresponsible then don't sell alc. read more

This is my first time coming to Five*Ten*Bistro, the place looks nice on the inside well kept, the music is also really nice. I had the Bleu and Black Steak which came with onion crisps and a spinach risotto. The onion crisps were cold and not evenly fried. I ordered the steak medium but received an almost raw steak, unfortunately. The risotto was more like rice mush. Such a disappointment especially being that it had 4 stars. Made a last minute reservation for my one yr anniversary. Didn't know where to go since we were in town visiting family and this place had the highest reviews for a bistro or a nice restaurant I should say. Food was nothing special. I seriously could've made this at home and would've tasted a lot better. The calamari was good but not as fresh as it could be. didn't matter to me since i love calamari period. I ordered the pasta marr which I will say was my mistake for not asking if it was a creamy pasta or soup like but I just couldn't believe how horrible it was. It was like a Phó soup gone terribly wrong! I then had it switched out for the 510 penne which was A LOT better. It was good but chicken was on the dry side. My husband ordered the chicken Marsala and wasn't that great either. Also ordered the cucumber martini-that was ok. Not as refreshing as they claimed it was. Our waitress was very nice and helpful and so was the gentleman I had asked to switch out my food. The only problem was that I did catch our waitress checking out my husband multiple times to the point he was a bit uncomfortable....not very professional. They have a great selection of beers. We were horribly disappointed and will not be back. The new waitress who knew nothing can be forgiven, the chewy penne was tedious at best. Everyone raved about the mac and cheese, it had an interesting taste, but mine is far better, and not chewy. Again, penne was used in this dish as well. The atmosphere is excellent for a date, but after this experience, I will not take our out of town guests there. It appears to be great class, and falls terribly short in the food deliverance, despite an excellent looking menu. I think the penne is used for everything, and considering the average clientele age and the possibility of dentures, they might want to cook that a tad longer. Dishes were served one at a time. My grandson's PBJ was delivered on half inch thick sour dough bread. Our beef stroganoffs were next, the dollop of sour cream was a bummer, the al dente penne was enough to make me give up on the meal. Jena's flank steak with gorgonzola and carmelized onions, but I think carmelized means cooked for a while, her face told me she was not happy. In other words, the food received a huge negative. A whopping $92 for terrible food. Ridiculous. There have been countless establishments in this location, none of them remain for good reason, I fear Five Ten is simply one more. read more

Some friends and I ate here last weekend and were beyond disappointed. When we sat down the table cloth was dirty. One guest was served a cocktail that had to be returned, another was served a dish that was completely disgusting. They had to return the dish and order another, I was shocked when I learned that their meal was not comped, in fact they were charged for the more expensive replacement dish. I ordered the vegetarian penne, which was edible, buy no better than a frozen dinner. They don't seem to have any method of quality control in place, otherwise some of these dishes never would have been served. Another thing to look out for is inconsistent pricing, 3 of our party ordered the same dish and each were charged a different price. I don't plan on ever returning, and if you're considering trying it out, I recommend saving your money. read more

We went here last night on a whim, as we were driving back to Stockton from Fresno. We did not know much about the menu, or the style of place it was. I had the chicken penne with a garlic cream sauce, tomatoes, and basil. It was pretty good, and the pasta was a little too al dente. I also had a cup of the French Onion soup which was scorching hot, but had a nice flavor. This is probably some of the best food I have had in years, I'm not one for fish but they calamari and dipping sauce is the best I've had. I have never eaten risotto and don't like green but I eat every single thing on the plate because it was just that good. The ribeye was on point and I couldn't say there was a single thing wrong. MUCH better this time around! We went on Saturday night for a company Christmas party, and the food was excellent. Our original plan was to go to the newly re-opened Reneiro's, but the boss decided to change after some not-so-great service there. I was not looking forward to the change, since my last visit was so underwhelming. This time everything was right on point: food, staff, and wine. I had the mushroom bisque again, which was just as delicious as I remembered. I recommended it to the table, and those who got it agreed it was phenomenal. My chicken marsala was cooked perfectly, and the side of penne alfredo was scrumptious. Everyone who had the 510 pasta loved it, and there were no problems with any of the steaks. The appetizers were outstanding, especially the calamari and chicken skewers. The bruschetta was a little underwhelming, but how amazing can toast and tomatoes be compared to fried calamari? I did love that they used a tiny piece of mozzarella on top w/ a drizzle of balsamic vinegar. The only uneven portion was the desserts. My creme brulee was not fully set, the cheesecake still had an unthawed taste, and the chocolate cake was very hard after being in the fridge. However, the brownie sundae continued to be the belle of the ball. As a former waitress, I had an eagle-eye view of the kitchen and I was impressed by the gentleman expediting the orders and organizing the staff. One major change I noticed was the plates being warmed in the salamander before plating, which kept my penne piping hot through the entire meal. I can't wait for my next visit! read more

Not good, folks..I took a friend here on his recommendation. We started with the brushetta. It wasn't bad but certainly not good. Just okay. We both ordered a glass of wine-they were around $12. Mine Chardonnay was not good. Not sure on my friends. I was leaning toward a pasta dish and our server recommended the penne pasta with tomatoes. Awful. The pasta was overcooked and it was COVERED in thick tomato sauce. It also tasted like the cook had dumped a tablespoon of crushed garlic from a jar in it. The glass of red I had with pasta was bad. It tasted like it had been open for a few days and not sprayed or preserved properly. My friend had the ribeye. He said it was pretty good but it was awfully thing for a ribeye. I won't be back here..Oh, and the server charged us fro the wrong meal, then had try to void it and then charge my card again..She was nice but a little "over her skis." read more

The service was excellent! Our server was polite and very accommodating. She checked on us often and genuinely wanted to hear our opinions...she knew it was our first time there. One of the owners even stopped by our table to find out what we thought. The restaurant's ambiance was simple, but beautiful. (I must note that the lighting above our table was annoying. My husband said it gave him a headache. I think it was too high, so when seated in the wrong spot, it was shining right into your eyes) I wouldn't recommend the fruit tea. It was just not too tasty in my opinion. The Caesar Salad was DELIGHTFUL though, as were the desserts...the cheesecake and the brownie with ice cream! QUITE DELICIOUS! I have never been there and was thinking it was so small but with the outside area the place is big enough to have a great time with friends.. I went there with low expectations however I was incredibly surprised to find I had a great time, wonderful service, clean bathrooms and live music.. We, small party of 2, went to this restaurant on a Saturday early evening, 5 PM, without reservations. Surprise we were very happy to be greeted by delightful smiling staff to welcome us. We were seated immediately and wine list provided. The wine list and bar guide are above average. The food menu has a variety of selections to please many desires. But the filet mignon was worth the wait. It just kind of sucked because my husband finished his meal by the time mine came out. He loved his hamburger though, i stole some of his fries and perfectly salted. They were also out of the chocolate cake for the fudge sundae. The atmosphere is great. The inside is so clean and modern and the patio outside has plenty of seating and it's next to a mini park and a water fountain. The waitress was very nice and considerate. The reason I can't justify higher than a 3 star is because the food. I spent about 15 bucks after tax and am still hungry. I got a sample size bowl of soup de jour which tasted great I just wish I had more of it. And my salad was in such a small bowl I couldn't mix it and it kept falling in my soup because it was over flowing. This meal was worth 8-10 dollars max but really the portions should just be bigger. I did the 510 special which she said was smaller portions and she wasn't kidding. I probably should have ordered a standard entree and then maybe would have left satisfied and full. read more
