This bustling cafe in Thousand Oaks hits all the right notes with its exceptional ambiance, an assortment of seating options (both inside and out), and of course, its fantastic beverages and eats. Upon walking into TheFive07, you are instantly swept up in its vibrant atmosphere, inviting you to settle into a cozy corner or take up residence at one of its many tables. However, a word to the wise - aim to get there before 9:30 AM, or you may find yourself amidst a mid-morning rush, which again picks up around lunchtime. Such is a testament to the cafe's popularity! If you're visiting for a caffeine fix, do yourself a favor and order the eponymous 'The Five07' - a blend of five espresso shots (or more if you get the large). It will light you up. It's awesome, it blends maple syrup and oatly (I get it with real milk). It's pure deliciousness in a cup! Sometimes I'll dial it down and get an iced tea, and my go-to is the Peppermint Rose As for food, their ham and cheese croissant and croissant breakfast sandwich are dope. I loved the former menu option, nutella and strawberry classic toast, I don't know why they dropped it. Maybe inflation and food prices. But, they still have their smoothie bowls which make up for it (sort of, but not really, bring back the classic toast!!). That being said, no place is without its quirks. At times, the music tends to play a bit loudly, and the artwork corner lighting/perimter lighting seems oddly aimed straight into the eyes of customers attempting to hold a conversation. A suggestion box would be a lovely addition - both to appreciate/recognize excellent service and provide feedback and ideas for a place that so many people love. One thing I'd love to see more from TheFive07 is their online presence. An email list for special events would be a welcome addition, as would be more social media activity. The unique charm of this place deserves to be celebrated far and wide! I would highly recommend expanding the hours, I think people would come for late night. You could drive as far north as Ventura or as far south as West Hollywood and struggle to find a non-Starbucks alternative that would be open until 9 or 10pm. I bet they could do a limited late-night menu, smaller staff, and still fill the place up. TheFive07 is truly a gem. The staff, with their ever-friendly demeanors, contribute significantly to the warm and inviting atmosphere. It's a space where community, comfort, and caffeine merge to create a truly delightful haven. I was pleased to see a nice selection of both coffee and pastries, and a lot of seating both inside and outdoors with umbrellas for shade. The staff is super friendly and service was pretty quick. The Chai Latte was amazingly good, smooth, and the chai flavor was just right. The vanilla latte was also smooth with a medium roast flavor. The Vegan Blueberry Muffin was super moist and the croissant was buttery, flaky and sweetened just right. Was it worth the drive? Absolutely! This has quickly replaced all other coffee shops as the only place I go to, for good coffee, to run into someone I know, and for amazing avo toast. Thank you Five07 for seasoning your avo toast well. I can't tell you how many places I've eaten this seemingly simple meal and the avocado is not seasoned-- not even with a dash of salt. The oatmilk latte is always perfectly made, creamy, well balanced coffee flavor (and that says a lot since I only drink decaf) and the perfect temperature. If I have one constructive feedback to offer, its that have your servers carry utensils with the meal when they bring to the table -- in the past week I've eaten here twice - both times avo toast, and they brought it to me without utensils- needing the server to make a second trip to my table to bring me some. Ordered my toddlers the Kauai smoothie and they slurped every last sip. The smoothies are reasonably priced at $7 each, especially considering the quality ingredients. Feeling the need for something sweet we added the Cinnamon Toast Crunch Toast. Not overly sweet, and the pecans made it a little savory. Really tasty, only complaint it was a little small portion wise. This mama could have totally devoured more. Ordered a black coffee that was organic, well roasted and super smooth. Coffee: My maple latte was perfectly balanced with a tad bit of sweetness and creamy whole milk. I absolutely loved my latte and would go back any day for this drink! Food: I was pretty dissatisfied with the pesto panini. It was a mix of a couple of cheeses with pesto sauce, tomato and very little slices of avocado on ciabatta bread, which tasted a tad bit stale, not crispy like a usual panini. I was bummed that I paid so much money for basically just cheese and stale bread, so I would never order that again nor would I try any other food there, it just wasn't worth it for me personally. I've been on a mission to find the best coffee in the Conejo Valley. I think I'm finally giving up. This is the third place. I tried out here and it had rave reviews so i was interested in trying it myself. I decided to get into the fall vibes and try a pumpkin latte. Flavor was great, staff was super welcoming but $9.80 for a latte with oat milk is just diabolical. And yes, I paid it because I was not gonna be that person to order and cancel it once she added everything up. The charge of $1.80 for oat milk is absurd. Needless to say, I will not be returning.
