Three days later, it wouldn't start at all, threw check engine codes, and left me stranded. ​A mobile mechanic inspected the vehicle and found that the fuel filter was never tightened properly--it fell completely off, and the internal seal was destroyed. An independent diesel shop confirmed the faulty installation starved the system of fuel and ruined the fuel pump, resulting in $7,000 to $8,000 in damages. ​Valvoline refuses to take accountability for their technicians' gross negligence. Instead, I waited in line for over an hour before my vehicle was even serviced, and the oil change itself took close to another 30 minutes. That's nowhere near the "instant" experience they advertise. What makes this even more confusing is that I've been to this location before. Today they had more employees working than I've ever seen, yet it was by far the longest wait I've ever experienced. That simply doesn't make sense. If you're going to advertise quick service, you need to deliver it - or at the very least be upfront about expected wait times. Had I known it would take this long, I would have gone somewhere else. I used Mobil 1 synthetic for truck/suv which is a bit darker when new so maybe that's why they thought I needed oil change. I refused the oil change as I literally just did it a day ago. They performed the job I requested without the oil change and all was good. But after that I needed coolant and brake fluid flushed. Called them multiple time over multiple days to schedule an appointment but they never picked up. I don't know if my refusal of oil change rubbed them the wrong way, but because they never picked up I just found another mechanic.

I spent $200 just on diagnostics at a very prominent Toyota mechanic in Concord before coming here. Besides diagnostics, his repair price for control arms and bushings is about $200 less than the mechanic I went to in Concord. But more than just prices, Mike really cares about helping you and fixing your problem. I told him this vague issue of hearing a metal scraping noise coming from my front wheel area. Mike got in my car and went on a drive with me just so he could personally hear it and understand. The problem did not show up on our drive, so the next day he drove it himself and heard the issue and diagnosed the problem. The other mechanic in Concord simply did not care about doing any of that. It's not that the other mechanic was bad; the other mechanic was skilled as well. The other mechanic just did not care to the same degree. The other mechanic in Concord had already told me about the suspension issue. They did good work but I was unhappy with their lack of transparency about what they were doing. They did not provide images of what the problems were and I ended up approving repair items over the phone, which led to me approving things that were unnecessary and that I would not have paid for had I seen a work order. That was not a problem with Mike, his shop takes photos of everything for your review and uploads them into Tekmetric. Items are graded green, yellow, or red and you approve what you see as necessary after talking with Mike. You sign with your signature. So it's just everything that makes going here better. I paid around $160 (before coupon) for a full synthetic oil change, and after getting home I noticed that only the tires on the left side of my vehicle had been adjusted. The two tires on the right side were completely missed. My dashboard tire-pressure readings clearly showed the difference. I understand that mistakes happen, but when you are charging customers this much for a service, basic items should not be overlooked which concerns me on a larger items. Customers should not have to go home and double-check whether the work they paid for was actually completed. What makes this more frustrating is that this is not the first issue I've had at this location but I'm all for second chances. For anyone considering coming here, I strongly recommend paying close attention to what you are being charged for and checking your vehicle before leaving to make sure every service you paid for was actually performed.
