After I had vacuumed my living room floor, I had powered off the vacuum and unplugged it from the outlook. Sparks immediately went into the air! The whole outlet was burnt and the end of the vacuum plug was melted! I had immediately looked on Yelp for electricians and stumbled across Fixel Electric and Lighting. I had called Fixel on a Saturday afternoon. The team member I spoke to had informed me that the earliest they could arrive on-site was Monday between 11:00 - 2:00. We had scheduled for an appointment at that time. On Monday, the electrician was slightly behind due to other reservations taking longer than expected. Even though the arrival window was between 11:00 - 2:00, the electrician showed up at around 3:45. He kept in contact with me every hour though even though he was running behind! We'll go with 4.5 stars on this one. I needed 2 floodlights put up to illuminate the playset in my back yard, a security camera/light for the garage/driveway, and an outlet put in our downstairs bathroom. I contacted Fixel and they responded to my inquiry right away. We discussed options and set a date based on when the hardware would arrive at my house. The only issue we had was that they were scheduled on Monday between 1100-1300, and the tech called and said he would be a little late. At 1430, I called and found out he had canceled. They were able to reschedule for the next morning. The tech arrived, were professional and did a good job on the installation. I won't hesitate to use them again. read more

This Company refuses to tell me the amount they charged my property manager giving them Free reign to charge me anything they'd like. The plumber who comes over never has any issues telling me how much they are charging my property manager and conveniently I'm never charged for my plumber's visits due to their transparency. If your property manager gives you a list of places to choose from, do not pick this company. 150 to reset a breaker and the guy who answered phone was rude his reason on why he couldn't tell me the total charged at my condo was "we don't have to tell you that we only have to tell the property managers" ..save yourself the headache . Edit: I'm going to give the business owner who responded a break and assume that it wasn't him I spoke with who was so rude on the day in question. And also another to assume everything he said in regards to being in breach of contract is actually true. Thank you for your reply and simple explanation, maybe in the future employee training could include ensuring that your workers do the same or at the very least making sure they aren't so condescending and trying their hardest to be as rude as they possibly can. Did the job wrong and refused to correct their mistake. They stated that an attic antenna would work just as well as a roof top one. Instead I got a bad signal and no 4K because of the bad signal. Fixel refused to attempt to fix it and install an amplifier, something that should have been installed originally. In fact, when I first complained, he told me to hire someone else. In his quote to add an amplifier, Fixel admits all the issues that require an amp. I've attempted to work with Fixel through multiple calls and messages, and he is now dodging my calls. I'll have to call Mr. Antenna to fix Fixels mistake. read more

We had a number of projects that needed the special attention of a trained electrician, and a quick search on Yelp! led us to Fixel Electric and Lighting. Though we have hired a number of companies in the past, none warranted a second call. That is, until now. From quote to finished project, Joseph and his team were professional, respectful of our home and time and were genuinely intent on making sure we were happy with the work they had done. To add icing on the cake, their estimate was nearly half of the other companies we contacted. Just don't tell them that, don't want them raising their rates! On install day, the owner showed up with his technicians to walk the property and discuss the projects they would be completing. On the schedule for the day was an install of a lighting fixture 2-stories up, 2 new outlet locations and the biggest headache, a ceiling fan box in the vaulted ceiling of our loft. This last one was an install that most would have walked away from and the one that took the longest. Limited attic space meant some genius engineering would be needed. I figured I would have extensive drywall repair with a bunch of holes in our walls and ceiling, but NOPE, the only hole they cut was the one the box was installed in. When work was complete, not only did they walkthrough each project they completed, they left our house as clean as it was when they arrived. We are adding to our project list and will be making that second call we have never been able to make until now! read more

I had a breaker that wouldn't reset, affecting some ceiling lights that wouldn't turn on. I called Fixel to look at it and when the tech came and tried resetting the breaker, it worked. I should have checked yet again. The tech was on site @ 515pm for less than 15 minutes and Fixel still charged the full rate of $250. Joseph offered $25/off, that's it. There's no good-faith gesture or community spirit with this company for a repeat customer. Don't call them unless you know for certain you need their help. Fixel was the first to respond to my message and had someone out the next day to check out the job. He gave me three different options for my fast EV charger location (each with a different price), and even fixed one of my 120V outlets for free so that I could charge with the slow charger and avoid installing the fast one entirely if I wanted to. When he came back for the installation I chose the middle option, but he advised that the cheaper option would actually be just as good. I ended up doing the cheapest option and it works perfectly. I had a NEMA 14-50 outlet installed today in my garage for my EV car and was amazed as to how well the electrician from Fixell did the job. I even cleaned up well with leaf blower & vacuum after he was finished. I have never seen this type of quality at least here in town after living her for almost exactly 24 years. He even added a custom made bracket on the panel door that was missing since I moved into the house, in order for me to lock it.
