Horrible service! Stay away. JF Technical put cameras in my home a few years ago and left a hole…read morelarge enough for a rat to get into my attic. After dealing with that, JF Technical was contacted and claimed it was not their fault after they admitted there was a small hole left unpatched. According to Fabian, the owner, a rat could not have fit through that hole. Fast forward two years and the job was still not complete as I wanted two cameras in my dog run that had two-way communication. Clearly, that was almost too much to ask as it took two years to get installed. We have never been able to get our cameras on our iPads and were told it was the iPad configuration. Seriously, it's an iPad, how many different ways can it be configured? They also failed to secure the wires that were pulled to the rafters or at least tuck them out of the way. A few years after installation was complete our heater needed to be serviced and the technician refused as the wires were run on top of the unit making it impossible for him to work. Since then, I have had the system completely removed and had CAT6 wires run, and a new camera system installed. Stay away from this company as it will just cost you double in the long run. Now, we love our new system however, it cost us over $10,000 to get here.

Experiencing a major electrical failure on Memorial Day was an absolute Nevada homeowner nightmare…read more Our main power box failed unexpectedly, and like most people would expect on a holiday, I couldn't get a single electrician to answer the phone. Understandable, but still incredibly stressful when you're suddenly without power. Ampere Electric was the exception. Not only did they answer the phone, they had someone at my house within an hour. Unfortunately, by the time they arrived it was late in the evening and there wasn't much that could safely be done until NV Energy could disconnect service the next morning. What impressed me was that they didn't make promises they couldn't keep. Instead, they told me exactly what would happen: they would coordinate with NV Energy first thing in the morning, get the power disconnected, and begin work immediately. That's exactly what happened. Patricio and Carlos arrived early and worked hard all day. They replaced the equipment, completed the installation, and had everything finished by around 3 PM. At that point, the only thing left was waiting for NV Energy to return so final restoration could take place. Unfortunately, NV Energy was completely inundated and running far behind schedule. This is where Ampere really separated themselves from every other contractor I've worked with. Patricio and Carlos could have easily packed up, told us we'd have to wait until the next day, and moved on to their next job. Instead, they stayed. They waited outside my house for hours. They repeatedly apologized for the inconvenience even though the delay wasn't their fault in any way. They had done their job and done it well, yet they refused to leave until the entire situation was resolved. NV Energy didn't arrive until nearly 8 PM. Patricio and Carlos were still there. The moment NV Energy completed their portion, they immediately restored everything, verified that power was working properly, and stayed until we were fully situated and every aspect of the job was complete. That level of customer service is rare. They didn't leave us stranded. They didn't pass the problem to someone else. They didn't do the minimum. They saw the job all the way through from start to finish, even when it meant spending their entire day and evening making sure their customers were taken care of. I am incredibly impressed with Ampere Electric, and especially with Patricio and Carlos. If you want a company that does what they say they're going to do, communicates honestly, and treats your problem like it's their problem, this is the team to call. Five stars, without hesitation. I can't thank Patricio and Carlos enough. Seriously.

I wish I had taken more time to compare options before moving forward. Ultimately, I take responsibility for making a rushed decision, but I hope my experience encourages others to slow down, get multiple quotes, compare equipment prices, and fully understand all of their options before committing.

This is a revision to my experience with Armen, owner of ARM Electricians. After the first week of operation of the 6 ceiling fans installed, one of them was wobbling. I let him know about it and he told me it was due to the quality of the ceiling fan and then if I wanted to purchase another ceiling fan, he can redo the job And of course charge me. Since then I had tenants move into the house and one of the upstairs ceiling fans, light kit was no longer working, when I called and spoke to him about it he told me to check for certain things, but did not offer to check his work. In the next room, the ceiling fan that he said was a poor build quality...I checked personally and found screws loose once I tightened them up myself the ceiling fan no longer wobbled or made a noise. I told him that I need to buy new ceiling fan for the one that isn't working properly and asked him to give me a price to install. He ghosted me and did not respond. I texted him a few more times and gave him plenty of opportunity to respond, but he blew me off. Initially, when he first did the job, he asked me if I can give him a review on yelp which I gave a wonderful review and at the time it seemed his work was good. When we found out there were issues with a few of the ceiling fan installed, he did not want to check his work or standby his work and blamed it on the quality of the ceiling fan, but in fact he had installed the blades loose. After this, I would not recommend Armen to anyone for work. He is unprofessional and does not stand by his work. read more

They gave us a 2-hour window for when they would be out, and they were here 5 minutes after the start of the window! I appreciate that we weren't stuck waiting around for hours on end. If you check my other reviews you'll notice there are hundreds of good reviews and only a sprinkle of bad ones. I feel that every business is entitled to a bad day or a random one off bad experience with a customer, and I'd rather use my yelp platform to help businesses and community succeed. With that said, here was my experience with Modern Electric, and I'll leave it to the clients to decide whether or not to choose them or go a different route. My regular electrician was out of town when an emergency came up at a property I rent out. I contacted Modern Electric about an electric line to a water heater that wasn't working. We noticed that it was actually burned a little and my handyman said that it looked like the circuit wasn't installed right from the beginning and was overloading. They said I would need a professional electrician because we would most likely need to run a new line to get it up to code etc. I will say that the man I spoke to responded quickly and was able to come out almost right away which was very nice, and the reason he is getting 2 stars instead of 1. He didn't inform me of any service fee, but I assumed there would be one anyway and with previous electricians I was prepared to spend between $75 and $100 just for the call itself and then whatever the cost to re-do whatever needed to be re-done. The person I spoke with and texted with did not give me a quote on the service call. In fact, no mention of payment was ever discussed prior to him going to the house. 5 minutes after he got there he texted me that we only needed a new water heater and just the little wire could possibly be replaced if I wanted, but I would need to have the water heater installed first (it's an electric water heater) and then he left. This didn't seem right but i took his word for it anyway and called my plumber. When my plumber got out there to inspect the area for a new heater, he said that we absolutely need a new line because the old one was very clearly on the wrong amps (or whatever it's called) and most likely would need a new line run from the main breaker in order for it to be up to code. He said he obviously can't install an electric water heater without proper electricity, so the line needed to be done first. This is essentially what my handyman said as well, and since Modern didn't seem to know what to do, or was unwilling to do it, I ended up calling another electrician to complete this work. After all this I was still willing to pay for the service call as I believe people should be paid for their time. I was the one who had to reach out to him to have him send me an invoice. He then told me it would be $160. I was STILL willing to pay this, but I thought I'd tell him my feedback instead of writing a bad review about it. I told him that $165 is a lot more than others charge and that he was actually wrong about what needed to happen. He responded with hostility and told me to never contact him again. Please see pictures of his response. Do I think he probably does a good job with simple things like ceiling fans or light fixtures? Sure. But if you have something a little more complex I would caution you to go somewhere else. I will also say here that his service call fee is $160 since it's listed no where online and he doesn't tell you up front how much it will be. He also told me to "keep the money, I don't need it." So he obviously doesn't need any new business and doesn't care to make a new or returning clients out of anyone because he's so very much booked and blessed. Best to go somewhere else where they do need the business, as they might take better care of you.
