Cute local Mexican in Tustin with awesome tacos and friendly service. Flaka is located in Tustin has a small parking lot. Interior is clean and large. They give you complimentary chips upon entry. I've came here two times and have tried enchilada, street tacos, and margarita. My favorites is the non taco Tuesday tacos, tortilla is thick and hand made. Their pork is delicious and enchilada is solid and not overly creamy, the marg is not too sweet and perfect strength. Aguachiles are really good, spicy but like a yummy spicy. The ceviche de pulpo y camaron is really good as well. The waitress was really nice. Muy atenta la señorita. Good attitude. Flacka's seems pretty new, has a big seating area with greenery and Mexican decor, a parking lot, and great vibe. Service was super friendly! Found this small gem as a recommendation from a friend. It's hard to find because they don't have a sign up yet but their food was really solid. Their poblano enchilada sauce was so so delicious. Salsa has a small kick which we appreciated. Our server was very kind and she gave us recommendations which was helpful. How am I just now learning about FLACKA'S?! Was craving Mexican food and wanted to try something new. As a flight attendant, I travel all over the world. And working for an airline that heavily services Mexico and Central America, I can confidently say that I know *real* good Mexican and Central American cuisine. When I tell you eating here sent me straight to Mexico City, WOW! For the owner to say "inspired by Mexico City cuisine" is an understatement. The molé?! OUT of this world. Made in house! And as a non-drinker, the iced tea was . (My bf did say the margarita was good and real. None of that pre mix business). Anyway. 10/10 highly recommend and will be back for more. I finally tried this restaurant after years of passing it by. Apparently, it changed owners about a year ago, but that's still one year I missed out on some delicious food. I had the enchiladas suizas, and my husband and son had chiles rellenos and carnitas. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Their sauces were excellent. To top it off, our server was super friendly and made us feel so at home. For dessert, we shared a tres leches cake, which was also great. Customer service is excellent. Young man who served us today was excellent. We ordered tacos and juevos rancheros. Tacos were on homemade tortillas that were so good. $5 each or you can get taco plate with rice and beans for 15. Juevos rancheros were very spicy. Way too spicy and could not eat much of it. Salsa served is medium which was very spicy too. Remodeled when took over from old owner. I have been going to Flakas for lunch for the last 3 months and they never disappoint. Their seasonal decor and awesome Spotify playlists makes it enjoyable for dine in. The owners are very nice and you are always greeted with a smile. When they aren't too busy they will mingle with their clients and ask for feedback on the food & service. My most recent visit included the tinga taquitos as an appetizer, which could have been a meal on its own and a chile relleño plate with rice and beans. The taquitos are so crispy you could hear the crunch in every savory bite! The tinga filling is delicious and for those that don't like onions in their tinga you won't even notice it's there. The hand made tortillas taste like nixtamal, made me reminisce of my mom's cooking. Delicioso! I also had the chile relleño plate. The filing is cheese, no meat, but nonetheless it has lots of flavor. The sauce on top is similar to a pomodoro sauce which is a chunky tomato sauce that I am not accustomed to on a chile relleño but it was a good combination. I was too full to try the rice but the beans didn't disappoint. Portions seem generous in my opinion. All in all everything we have tried there is amazing. The presentation of the food is wonderful and the taste is just as great! Little details at the location (ie. dia de los muertos decor and napkins) make your dining experience feel like you are eating at a family's home. Ask for seasonal dishes & the owner will surprise your palette!! One of my friends, who recommended Flakas, asked me to try the seasonal flor de calabaza tacos and for a minute I tasted a little piece of heaven. I would highly recommend this seasonal dish if you want something light but filling. Or if you are vegetarian and looking for a good taco. The salsita that accompanies this dish was oh so good! I absolutely will continue to keep this place in my lunch rotation at least once maybe twice a week. read more

It looks like it is closed at night but that is just the lighting! This is one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. Everything is homemade and has a ton of flavor. The chips and salsa are amazing. I've had the tres leches cake, the carnitas, and beef dishes. I recommend getting anything with the green salsa. The corn and flour tortillas are one of a kind. Expect everything to have a complex and amazing amount of flavor except for the beans and rice, which aren't bad but aren't flavor bombs with a lot of sugar like some other places. read more

This place was an amazing find. Their sign up front is still getting worked on so you may miss it if you drive too fast but it's nestled right on the corner with room to park. The food was really good and the restaurant inside was a lot more spacious than it appears on the outside. I met up with a friend I hadn't seen in a long time and they allowed us to chat well after we finished our food despite nearing closing time. The customer service was exceptional. We had a fantastic server. She was awesome! They let us know that they will be celebrating Cinco de Mayo with Taco Tuesday and also Mother's Day buffet style. I definitely want to check that out. We popped into Tustin and decided to go have a bite at Super Antojitos and to our surprise it is now Flakas. It has a very different vibe, it's a nice cozy elegant place. I love all the decor and it's brighter. The food is absolutely amazing. It takes ur taste buds back to that home made/ hand made grandma's cooking. What can I say this place is amazing. First time eating there for lunch today and all of the different food choices from burritos to Fresh Fish to unsweetened iced tea and the delicious flan dessert made my stomach very happy and will definitely be going back again and again every time I'm down in the Tustin area. I had an otherwise pleasant dining experience take an unexpected turn when the bill arrived after enjoying the meal. I noticed an added service fee for using a credit card. This hadn't been mentioned at any point during the seating or ordering so I asked the server for clarification. She politely explained that there is a sign posted at the front entrance, informing customers about the fee. While I appreciated the explanation, the sign itself was small and not something I had noticed when walking in. A charge like that would have been better communicated more clearly, either by the host, the menu, or a more visible notice. Transparency matters, and while the fee itself was small, the surprise of it left a less favorable impression than the meal deserved. read more
