We were looking for a Mexican restaurant in OC to celebrate my niece's birthday. We checked the Yelp app and found Jardin's. The reviews were positive and social media posts were also pretty favorable. So, we booked a dinner reservation for our family. When we arrived, the first thing that we noticed was that parking was valet only. There seemed to be no way around it. So, we parked in a parking lot down the street. My sister actually drove past the valet and parked the car herself. She handed them the key, in case they need to move the vehicle. The restaurant is small inside and is perfect for a small gathering of friends and family. They have cute areas for photo ops that people like to post on social media. They make use of the space by organizing the layout to accommodate up to maybe 50 guests in total. It's also a bit dark inside as the window shades prohibit a lot of natural light from shining through. The menu consists of traditional Mexican dishes. My niece and I ordered the shrimp. The rest of our family ordered enchiladas. The food didn't take long to arrive and the presentation was great. The serving size for the shrimp was pretty generous. It was flavored with a lemony garlic sauce that was quite tasty. The beans were light and didn't taste like they came from a can. My niece ordered the spicy version of the shrimp plate and said that it wasn't too spicy, but it was good. Our server was very attentive and checked on us often. I appreciate the fact that he made sure that I didn't have any guacamole on my plate since I'm allergic to avocado. Many restaurants still bring out my meal with avocado despite me informing them about my allergies. Our server definitely took great care of us! The only downside of Jardin's is the valet parking issue. We don't like having other people park our car as they could ding/scratch it or they might go through the vehicle. Ive been to this place a couple times, and typically had good service. The food has been good in the past. However, today's visit was a complete disappointment to say the least. We were served our drinks and placed our food order. Our iced coffees were warm, our server never came back to check on us, and our food never came out after waiting for over 30 minutes. We were never even offered water. After waiting for our food for over 30 minutes, we decided to just leave. We tried paying for our drinks, and our server was completely oblivious to the fact that we never received our food. Very disappointed. Update: Just to clarify, the ribeye was ordered rare, not well-done. We waited over 30 minutes and still had not received our food. So the issue wasn't expecting a well-done steak to be cooked quickly, as suggested in your response. A rare ribeye should not require 23+ minutes just to reach the requested temperature, and in our case, we were still waiting past the 30-minute mark. I completely understand that restaurants get busy, and I'm reasonable about wait times. The issue was the lack of communication and the fact that our food still had not arrived after more than 30 minutes. As for management, we didn't see a manager during our visit. If someone from management had checked on us, we would have gladly explained the situation and given the restaurant an opportunity to address it. As a manager, you are supposed to set the example when it comes to customer service. Unfortunately, after reading your response, it's clear to me now why we weren't taken care of properly during our visit. If this is how you choose to respond to customers as a leader defending the situation rather than acknowledging their experience and taking responsibility it speaks volumes about the level of customer service being provided. My review is based on the experience we actually had. I'm not criticizing the restaurant simply because it was busy. I'm pointing out that we waited over 30 minutes for a rare ribeye, had little to no communication about the delay, and ultimately felt our concerns were not taken seriously. read more

The breakfast here is absolutely delicious. Our favorite is the chilaquiles. Chipotle chilaquiles to be exact. They also have avocado chilaquiles and I also love those, but hubby prefers the chipotle. The coffee is also great. Their cafe de olla is on point, cinnamony like I like it. Their decor is very fun and vibrant, a great place for celebratory occasions. Their service was a tad bit slow, not super attentive. We attended Jardin after hearing nothing but great things about it, and the food definitely did not disappoint. We visited for a birthday celebration with a party of seven adults and arrived around 7:00 PM. Our table was ready when we got there, and our server was incredibly friendly, attentive, and helpful throughout the evening. One thing that was disappointing was that the restaurant advertises mariachi music on Friday nights and birthday cake celebrations, but neither was offered during our visit. Since we specifically chose the restaurant for a birthday celebration, that was a bit of a letdown. They did have a photographer walking around taking pictures of guests, with each photo available for purchase for $20. As for the food, it was excellent. I ordered the ribeye and shrimp, which came with fried rice, beans, vegetables, and tortillas. The ribeye was tender and flavorful, and the overall quality of the meal was impressive. The portions were generous, and I felt the prices matched the quality of the food. I would absolutely return, especially to try their brunch. While looking into a future Saturday brunch reservation for a group, I learned that parties of eight or more require a $100 non-refundable deposit that is applied toward the final bill. Reservations are limited to 90 minutes, and outside food or cakes are not permitted. Stopped in here with the wife and had a quick Sunday breakfast. She's been wanting to come here since we moved into the area. Mentioned her nephew said it was his favorite breakfast spot so we had to try! Ordered in a fresh squeeze lemon juice, a must! If available. We started off with the empanada.. very different than what you would think an empanada would taste like. First bite, it's soft and flaky, different texture. Cheese melted along with the potatoes inside so delicious! We added the pickled onion along with avocado and to be honest, we would have been good with a second order! Wife and I shared a French toast with berries on top. French toast was thick, a bit tough around the edges to cut through but very very soft in the middle. Went really well and could have been a dessert dish. We also shared chilaquiles plate and added steak.. it was cheaper than buying the steak and egg plate! Lol, it was good, very spicy and meat was very soft and tender. Needed a bit more pepper and salt in my opinion. I ordered the dulce de leche iced latte, and it was extremely sweet. It felt more like a dessert drink than an actual coffee, and the coffee flavor was pretty weak. If you're going specifically craving a strong iced latte or coffee drink, this probably won't satisfy that. It was fun to try and I can see why it's popular, especially since our waitress recommended it and mentioned it was one of the less sweet options--but it was still way too sugary for my taste. On the bright side, the chilaquiles with steak were super delicious and definitely the highlight of the meal. The portion was huge and easily shareable if you want to order family-style with one or two other people. The sauce was tasty with a slight kick, but not overwhelmingly spicy. Our Lunch Bunch gathered at Jardin for an early dinner/late lunch at Jardin. They stop serving at 2pm to get ready for the 5pm patrons. Valet parking only which is free except for the tip. The outside of the building hides a cozy, quiet dining experience. It is a bit dark inside but once you acclimate it adds to the ambiance of your meal. Our server was very helpful to explain a few of the dishes and our order came soon after. Jen had the Jardin Slam and was not disappointed! Chilaquiles with tomatillo sauce, corn pancakes, perfect poached eggs, all delicious!! The plantains were so good. Would love to go back and try the dinner menu. I thoroughly enjoyed the Enchilada Mole, it was a bit spicy but very good. Mike thought his was a good Benedict with the chipotle sauce but would prefer the hollandaise sauce. We started with an appetizer CHORIZO CON PAPA EMPANADAS $15 These empanadas were so flavorful. TRES LECHES TOAST $20 My daughter loved it. And the little jug that comes with it was so cute! Where we ordered steak chicken and shrimp. With grilled vegetables, everything was very flavorful. The service was wonderful from the valet to our server and the rest of the staff. Came here to celebrate a bday & I was pleasantly surprised by the high quality of the food, as well as the plating. The drinks were also very tasty! Seems to be a special occasion type of restaurant, there were about 6 other birthdays going on, must be a local favorite. The parking was free valet. They are on a busy street, and the parking lot is small, but he was able to make it work out! If you haven't been here before, keep an eye out for the entrance, it comes up fast after you past the stoplight, and if you miss it you'll have to turn back around because the other driveway is the exit only for valet to bring guests their vehicles. I didn't know the chilaquiles were so popular until after I came to leave a review. I standby its popularity, I had the jalapeño chilaquiles with steak. They have many other sauces to choose from too, not just verde or rojo. My only suggestion to make this a 10-star review for this type of establishment is to improve the HVAC system. It has been one of the hottest days this summer, and most A/Cs will struggle against this heat, but it would help change from what is "tolerable" to feeling "comfortable". This was a great brunch and it was a fun spot to check out. Parking is valet only and on the weekends it gets packed so reservations are definitely a good idea. The atmosphere is cozy but full of Instagram moments and the staff was friendly and attentive throughout the visit. So I thought this place would be a great place to celebrate my wife's 40th bday and don't get me wrong, the food was great, ambience was nice but the service after 2pm, was not great. We first had to put a 100 dollar non refundable deposit because we had a party of 9 (never heard that). The deposit went toward the food so that was fine. We get there, valet only and although there were no spots in the back to park, the guys made it happen (kudos to them). We get in, the hostess didn't see 9 people, so she says are you sure the rest of your party is coming? Ummm yeah, we paid they are coming! As we waited for them to show up at the table, not even 5 minutes passed and again (is your group coming, we are going to close the door) apparently they stop taking walk in's and reservations past 2. The rest of the party got there 1 minute after we were warned, and as we sat down the menu looked different. More brunch, than lunch different from a menu I saw on Yelp just two months back. Our waiter, youn guy, very pushy to get the order in, asked half the table what they wanted to drink and NO CHIPS AND SALSA!! How can you be a Mexican restaurant and not at least provide that?? The food was over priced, "fancy" Mexican food..how do you charge 30 dollars for two mole enchiladas refried beans and dry rice? Anyways, I shared the tabla por dos which came with steak, chicken, panels cheese, shrimp, a baby scoop of guac and pico de gallo. It was good but when we asked for tortillas, THEY CHARGED US AN ADDITIONAL TWO DOLLARS! We seriously ate for about 30 minutes, then they began the process to push us out! We were still eating and the waiter comes and brings the 445 dollar check!!! Of course they "forgot" to add the 100 dollar deposit, and it's 20% gratuity added for groups of 6 or more! We paid 70 dollars to a pushy kid. The tables are small, it's cramped, and looks like a place just to take pictures for Instagram! It was my wife's birthday and you think they would do the desert in the house...YEAH RIGHT! 35 dollars for churros, a flan, and arroz com leche...it's crazy expensive here but a suggestion, DONT MAKE RESERVATIONS AT 2 or you will be pushed out! When they brought the desert and sang happy birthday, my wife didn't even get to enjoy the desert before another lady came in and said we would have to leave because they are doing "maintenance in the area" we were sitting in...ahh how convenient. Jardin Autentica Cocona is soooo good! This was my third visit and recently tried booking a reservation for my daughter's bday but they were closed for dinner that day. All this to say, the food and experience is superb! This last visit, my girlfriends and I reserved brunch on a Sunday. As always, never had an issue with their reservations. Valet parking is so convenient too. I'm so glad they do this. It's free and of course tips are welcomed. The restaurant is not that big but the layout works, I'm so glad we got to sit in the larger room close to the pretty faux well with floral arrangements. This whole restaurant is a vibe and Instagram worthy. This visit I ordered the Mexican latte and the cazuela and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. Portions are perfect. The drinks are always good. Everyone at our table tried something different from each other and they enjoyed them. Also, 10/10 on the steak. I had it also in another dish on a previous visit and they just know what they're doing. The cut and the way they cook it, is so good! I need to come back for the Pasta à la Diabla with Shrimp. Finally tried jardin and it was good, my friends and I ordered the Chipotle chilaquilles. They were creamy and very tasty. It had a bit of a cheese taste to them that made me feel like I was eating nachos (not mad about it) the arachera was super soft and cooked to perfection!. I wish it came with an extra salsa or Pico to add to it. I was missing a hint of spice. I'll order a differnt flavor of them and see if thats more up my alley. The empanadas were okay. Those did come with a salsa and it was good. I had a sip of the mazapan latte, that actually tasted like marzipan. I will be back to try new flavors. Parking is valet only. The first time visiting this restaurant, the reservation was easy to make for my Daughter's birthday, the environment is romantic, intimate, familiar, Luis the waiter is so friendly and fast, paying attention on what we need. The food we order was so good, different plates comparing to other restaurant's. They have the flan option and sing for the birthday person. The cafe de olla is tasty, also we tried the mazapán and horchata coffee. The mimosas are 3 on the menu, and also the bottle is available and you can have like 6 drinks from there. The valet parking is for donation cash, Zell, venmo. There's no way to park your car without the valet parking. In that case look for parking on the street. The location is packed on weekends so expect a wait. The lot has valet as well due to size so expect that. We found this place randomly as we were in the area, and we are so glad that we did!! First of all , the ambiance and lighting is really nice and the service was attentive and friendly! But the seller was the Grilled platter para Dos!!! It was protein heaven!! Shrimp, chicken breast, ribeye and this grilled panela cheese! It all came with rice, beans and all the fixings including guacamole! All for $55-- it was massive! We thought this was the best deal on the menu! Portions appear on the larger size ( leftovers a given) with entrees ranging between $30-$50. We learned they are only open for dinner Fridays and Saturdays , everyday open for breakfast and lunch until 2 so plan accordingly. After a fun morning out and about with my book club, we were looking for a good place to stop for lunch on the way home, and one of the girls found this place online and it was perfectly on our way home. I didn't know what to expect when we got there so we went in a little blindly but we were all pleasantly surprised. First impressions - it was an unassuming building and the parking lot was a little chaotic, but they had free valet (but be sure to tip the super friendly guy overseeing the lot) so it was a lot easier that it initially looked. It's honestly a place that I wouldn't have thought to stop when driving by, but I'm so glad we did. The second we walked in the door, we felt transported - the interior was absolutely beautiful. We were warmly greeted and we called ahead so we were seated almost right away. We didn't have any drinks (this time) although they sounded delicious and I will absolutely be back to try their drink menu. For food, 2 of us ordered chilaquiles, 2 had shrimp enchiladas, 1 had pancakes, and 1 had the chorizo empanadas appetizer. Everyone was absolutely thrilled with their food. I had the chilaquiles with chipotle sauce and eggs over medium on top and it was absolutely incredible! The sauce was smokey with just a tad of spice, but it was incredible - not overpowering and worked well with the other components of the dish. The food was incredible, the portions were generous, and the prices were fair for the quality. I will absolutely be back here for a future visit. My only issue was we were asked multiple times to leave a yelp review before we even got our food. It got a little overwhelming since at that point, I had never tried their food yet. We really love this restaurant and come here often because we love the food. Unfortunately, the last two times we've come, we've had the same server, a blonde lady (I don't know her name), and both experiences have been terrible. She never came by to check on our table. We needed water and refills, and we never got an appetizer we ordered. I even had my other son dropped off while we were eating, and she clearly saw him come in, but never once came by to ask if we needed anything for him. We constantly had to look around and try to get her attention just to get her to come to the table. When the bill came, we told her about the appetizer we never received and all she said was, "Okay, I'll take it off." No apology or anything. It honestly sucks because we really enjoy this place and the food, but having the same server twice and experiencing the same poor service has made it really unpleasant. Hopefully management can address this because we really do love this restaurant and would hate for one server to ruin it for us. read more

Started off with Cafe de olla , Horchata Latte and a Jamaica Mimosa for mom and the mazapan conchitas . Next up ... The Chicharon Benedict's The Huevos Divorciados " rec: Order with tomatillo and "chipotle" sauce. and the Jardin Slam , all choices were loved. Let's start at the beginning, valet. Unexpected, but appreciated. Atmosphere as soon as you walk in. Decorated so pretty like an outdoor plaza but very clean. Extremely clean and upscale feeling, but not pretentious. Relaxed, good music not too loud. Drinks. The coffees are so so good. The water is small and not refilled enough,but hey whatever. Food. Food is really, really good. The chipotle sauce is smoky. Eggs Benedict was cooked perfectly, but those potatoes like country home potatoes were seasoned two perfect perfection and cooked perfectly crispy on the outside done on the inside! When our waiter came I asked for chips and guacamole I saw on here. They don't have them for brunch. That was disappointing. We ordered a lime margarita and a watermelon cucumber margarita. They brought a strawberry and the watermelon cucumber but have them to the wrong person. Came back a couple minutes after stating they brought the wrong drink. Server seemed very confused on how to handle the situation. My friend said she still wanted her lime margarita. I just took the one they gave her because she had only taken a sip or two. None of the margaritas were anything special. They also didn't come with or offer salted rims. My friend ordered the divorciados breakfast and I got the French toast breakfast sandwich. The food took a while to arrive but we both thought the food was amazing. We were both surprised how good it was. The food is why it gets a 3 star instead of 2 star review. Our waiter, Ariel?, wasn't very attentive. I never got a refill on my water. When we made the reservation we mentioned celebrating a birthday. That note was not acknowledged and when I asked I was told I had to order a dessert to get the cute birthday song and presentation (this was told as we were paying the bill and over it) not that we expect free dessert but since it was noted on the reservation they should've asked. The restaurant itself was really cute and clean. My advice make a reservation, be prepared for valet parking and bring your patience. The food was worth it. read more

First the ambiance is inspired by a Mexican home. Beautiful bright colors, tons of flowers and authentic furniture. All that gives you warm feeling of having breakfast with the "familia" in a small pueblo in Mexico. It was my first time at Jardin. Waited about an hour for 2 people. The restaurant itself is very small. But decorated very nice. I don't remember our waiters name but she was not attentive at all. My daughter finished her drink mid meal and wanted a refill but that didn't happen because our waiter never checked on us after she brought the initial drinks. First time visiting and we were able to reserve a table 15 minutes before we pulled up. It was a Saturday around 130pm. I love the interior decoration! It is reallllyy cold inside though, I had to keep my jacket on and was still pretty cold. I ordered my hot chocolate and conchas first to start my meal and got the drink but received my conchas After we got our food which was a bummer. All our food was full of flavor and I found it to be good portions. My favorite plate was the huevos divorciados. Both salsas are delightful. The plates are good but a little on the pricey side especially since it is extra for the eggs and meat for the chilaquiles. I think chilaquiles should always come with eggs. They were not checking on us so we had no refills for our drinks for a while (also why I didn't get my conchas until later). Good food. Be prepared to spend money. Cute decorations. read more

My son and I went for a brunch date and I'd been wanting to try this Instagram famous restaurant. Wanted to know what all the hype was all about. It a very unique and cozy restaurant. The ambiance is perfect and gives off garden vibes with a touch of romance. We ordered chocolate artesanal and café de olla. Both were delicious! The for starters we decided to try the chorizo empanadas which were very tasty with the sauce they are served with. I ate two hehe Then for main, I ordered steak and eggs. The steak was tender and juicy, just how I like it. Cooked to perfection My son had chilaquiles with grilled chicken, which looked delicious and he ate every last bite of! Second time at this restaurant and I always love it! The staff is very efficient and are bilingual in English and Spanish which is great for accessibility! Parking is valet complementary. Make sure you book a reservation ahead of time! My boyfriend and I were seated in a patio seating area which was a little more warm than the main dining room, there were fans on however I don't like hot weather too much. Food: Ordered the $16 tomatillo chilaquiles with two eggs and steak. There was an extra charge of $5 for the two eggs, and $7 for the steak. The chilaquiles were supposed to come with beans but none were served. The food was good though when the bill came, I pointed at the missing beans and they took off $2 off the total. I don't belive it to be fair given that a side of beans is at a minimum of $5. I can't help to think the eggs should have come with the chilaquiles at no extra charge, like most other restaurants. Ambience: It was a packed house and with a wailing baby crying at the top of their lungs throughout the meal, making the experience feel stressful, despite the whimsical garden surroundings that should have evoked tranquility. Also, the air felt humid, though it was under 75° outside. Better air ventilation and no crying babies would have made it a more enjoyable experience. Service: Service was good though had to wait 20 mins to be seated for two, then 20 mins to get out food. We were extremely hungry by the time the food came. You have to valet your vehicle so be prepared to tip to get your car. Overall Experience: 3 stars out of 5. read more
