Where do I even begin? The super fresh brews? The interesting mead flights? This was the highlight of the weekend! Not to mention the vast array of pizza and delicious bites in the brewery. Everything about the visit was absolutely amazing. The owner Mike, was knowledgeable, friendly, engaging, and absolutely helpful in every way! Can't wait to return and bring more friends! The scenery was absolutely breathtaking .

My wife and I were excited to visit Over the Moon Farmstead for our anniversary, which coincided with the opening of the hot air balloon festival. Unfortunately, staffing issues caused our appetizers to be delayed by an hour after we arrived. After the appetizer plates were cleared, we waited another 45 minutes for our entrees to be served. The wings and peach Caprese appetizers were very good. Once the main courses arrived, my wife thoroughly enjoyed the Seared Day Boat Scallop plate. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the Beer-Braised N.E. Wagyu Osso Buco--it was significantly overcooked, to the point that I didn't finish it. I mentioned the issue to our waitress, who apologized, but no further acknowledgment or compensation was offered. The view was lovely, and despite the delays and entree issue, it was nice enough that we may consider giving them another shot.

This place did NOT disappoint!! We went for the prime rib New Years Eve special. It was cooked to perfection and I liked that you get two thinner sliced pieces instead of one big hunk which is typical of prime rib. Au jus was perfect and on the side so you can add it to your liking. It came with potato croquettes which were crispy outside and deliciously creamy inside with the right amount of seasoning on everything! My husband had the Beer-Braised Osso Bucco, it was a rich and tender hearty filling dish with mashed potatoes and root vegetables, delicious! My daughter had the Caesar salad with house made croutons and real anchovies which is rare to get, they made the salad more authentic. Perfectly dressed. We shared the chocolate mousse for dessert and it was creamy with chips of decadent chocolate throughout. Topped with whipped cream and orange zest. Amazing! Service was great and the ambiance was warm and inviting. Almost forgot we had oysters as our app, also delicious! Left fulfilled and very happy!

Wow, what a great place. Food atmosphere, rustic, clean and fun. The views spectacular. Patty was helpful and sweet. We had a couple different pizzas The Forager with roasted garlic, mozzarella, local wild mushrooms, red onion and blue cheese - yum! We also had a ricotta Italian meatball pizza fresh mozzarella, tasty meatballs and a delish red sauce. The owner stopped by to say hello with his dog Barley. Great to hear the history and passion. Also, enjoyed some brews and the views ... we will be back to this hidden spot! We ate all the pizza, sorry no time for photos! Live music on Sundays and other days.

Cool mirror art that I thought was worth sharing.

Picture this...stars in my eyes...a look of bewilderment as I reflect on my experience at Over the Moon restaurant... The 5 stars I am giving makes me question any other 5-star reviews I've given. I smile at the thought of my Valentine's Day dinner with my husband. The pictures I have included give an idea of what to expect. I felt like one of those 'I take pics of my food' people when I'd grab my phone to capture the meal before it's touched. I wanted to make sure I can share with others what to expect in hopes they'd have the same experience. So, I am impressed that this restaurant & the tavern are 10 mins. away from my home (Barnstead) in Pittsfield, NH. It's definitely a place that you want to dress up a little & make an effort. I'm not bashing on the Pittsfield area by any means, but it's surprising how elegant this place is for the area. You can tell they take pride in making adjustments to make it somewhere you want to be. It's unique & I am sure this place will continue to take off as more people discover it (darn, should I even tell people how great it is & risk never being able to get in?) The average price per person for a meal is $21+ but completely worth it. A little bit of a backstory... We went to the tavern on a Saturday afternoon prior for a beer & snack a few weeks back. While there, we saw signage about making Valentine's Day reservations, which we immediately wanted to do before leaving. We were brought to the restaurant from the tavern to be greeted like we were VIP's! The manager, Pam (I believe is her name), made our reservations. She showed us around the restaurant. Her husband is one of the chefs. Let's put it this way... though the restaurant is not typically open on Tuesdays, they wanted to be open for V-day. The wait staff, each & every individual, was so kind & made you feel valued. Our waitress seated us at a table overlooking the view; it was beautiful. Being atop a hill (across from Appleview Orchard) it was relaxing & not the usual view you get from just anywhere. It added to the element of romance & a fantastic experience for dining. When my husband returned from the restroom, one of the chefs waved & said 'hi' to him with a smile. When we were waiting for our taxi to pick us up, one of the owners, Mike, made sure we were all set. He saw us standing in the entry & wanted to make sure we were taken care of. THAT WAS UNEXPECTED & VERY APPRECIATED. The food... WOW. It's elevated & fresh. Homemade tomato & pasta sauces are appreciated. The pasta is not made in house, but there's something about it where it tastes fresh vs. from a box. You can see the texture in my photos. We don't typically get dessert, but we figured we'd treat ourselves to the V-day special they had (flourless chocolate torte). Yup, we are going to be regulars. We cannot wait for warm weather to sit outside at the tavern overlooking the views with a good beer.

We stumbled across this place because they had a Groupon for a mead flight of nine meads and a mead pairing book. Michael, the owner, was short one book so he kindly offered to mail it to us. He then picked out nine meads for us to try. Each pour was plentiful. They also used compostable cups, woot woot! Us mead newbies enjoyed almost all the ones we tried, some notable favorites - floral symphony, stiletto, entice, Madagascar, red dress, sensual. Breathless had a kick to it so it was our least favorite, but those who enjoy fireball whiskey might like it. We were not rushed at all and spent a good deal of a rainy afternoon sipping mead, admiring the gorgeous views, going through some books and games kept for the patrons, and meeting their dog, Barley! As we were about to leave, Michael also showed us the pizza restaurant that is in the works, scheduled to open in a month. I cannot wait to be back because this place is going to be spectacular no matter the season. It is a must visit if you're in New Hampshire. And next time, we might just stay here because they're offering Airbnbs too. Support local!

Amazing place for live music, tasty mead/beer/cider, and fantastic sunset/sunrises. My one gripe is their cheese and crackers for food option. Although they have a selection of cheeses, $20 gets you ONE type of cheese block. I'd rather pay $10-$15 and have a selection of three cheeses on one plate.

Pizza if the day and french fries and Meade and brew

A favorite stop! Friendly staff. Cozy atmosphere. Today we enjoyed a pizza that was the special and Noble American and Apple pie Meade

We are SO glad to have visited this little nano brewery!!! This place is in the middle of nowhere,…read moreset back on a long dirt road, downstairs in a wooden barn. Maybe only 200 sq ft (if that) space inside; 1 tall table with 4 high stools, 2 leather chairs, rest of the space are standing room only. A tight fit, but so cool inside! Needless to say, beer only - they don't have the license to serve beer in pints, but you can get the 4 oz samples and growlers to go. The place was PACKED when we were here; but everyone was very friendly and shared the small space together. They had 8 beers on tap; we had to try all 8! Everything was really solid; my fav was the stout and hubby liked the IPA. We didn't get to talk to the brew master as it was so crowded, but really enjoyed the experience and would recommend this place to anyone who is passing through or vacationing nearby. Just a side note - the bathroom situation is very interesting... the toilet is a cross between portal potty and compose. A bit high up and there's actually a step stool for the ladies to step up to "sit" on the seat. Bathroom is not dirty and doesn't smell...but it is definitely a hole for the waste to go in; no flushable water. By the toilet, under the bucket sink (with bud light tap as the water faucet control!) there' a bucket of dirt. Sign says to put a scoop in after you poop (ha!). Not an ideal situation for female, but still better than portal potty.

I also believe they have cocktails in a can, too, in case someone is coming with you that doesn't like beer. The inside is small and cozy, filled with high top tables and cool art, and tons of plants to gaze at. Bartenders are cool and helpful with suggestions. I've been a few times without eating but recently tried a smash burger from a recommendation. It was very good, the fries even better! It's always nice when a small brewing company serves filling food. The burger was smashed thin with two patties. It had ketchup/mustard/lettuce/onion/pickle. The fries were the semi crispy kind, love those! I would come back just for the burger and fries. The beers are always good and on rotation, no complaint there. Come when the weather is nice! It's small inside but they also have a small patio in the back. They often have live music back there on weekends too. Can't wait till it gets warm again to enjoy that.

Driving in I asked my husband I asked what Kettlehead is known for an he said: Beer. Yet somehow, I can't love Kettlehead. A few things occured that damaged the experience: 1. The waitress spilled a sampler all over my wristlet and cell phone. She was oblivious but she has been spilling it the whole walk to the table! She seamed put out i asked of they had bleach wipes as we were in from out of town and i didnt want mty cell phone smelling like beer all weekend. 2. The waitress stated the coin change machine is wonky and they don't own it. The coin machine worked fine but it was the first game we played, Tokyo Drift, that ate our money. I reported it and seamed like the guy didn't care. He didn't offer me a $1 to make up for it nor did he shut down the machine after my report. I feel like if you have it in your place, you should stand behind it. An issue, it should become yours. 3. The pretzels are terrible. They are like sliced and fried with no flavor. They looked like little hot dogs. We go to a ton of breweries and this is the worst pretzel experience we have ever had. Also, the waitress told us the mustard was the beer cheese and vice versa. My kid was not to happy when she ate mustard! But also, the worst beer cheese we have encountered as well. Her excuse, she has been up since 4am. Well, my husband wasn't wrong. He raved over their beer. Nobody was impressed with their food.

They once did whole chicken which was pretty perfect outside on the old patio. Pretty much impossible to undercook something you smoked for hours but very easy to dry it out, and it was great. Actually brought the whole fam there that day including our dog. It's petfriendly outside. They have three main beers that you can always get, and then about another 3 beers or so of rotating and experimental beers/ciders. If you want to get an idea of the staff this is from my first visit there a few years back. I actually think this was towards the beginning of Covid. We had to get out of dodge and enjoy some relaxation by the lake. When we showed up everywhere we drove by the spots we normally frequented and everywhere was closed, sometime near 8 pm. We did a search and found that here was open and headed over as fast as we could to try to get something to eat. Unfortunately the grill just closed, and we resigned ourselves to a liquid dinner. The chef then pokes his head out and offers to make a pretzel for us, and we could not have been happier. It was a big one too. The staff was just so welcoming and seemingly very happy that we were there... which is not always the case in the general area... that Burnt Timber became one of our usual spots instantly. Each time we've been back it has always been that way, which is even more rare not just here but back in the Boston area as well. So again if you like smoked and fermented things in an unpretentious atmosphere with very friendly staff I'm pretty sure you'll love this place too
