Drool......
Brock E.

Updating my previous five star. After 20+ years of riding BMX I stopped cold turkey. About a decade of low cardio and age later I found myself with high blood pressure, a few extra pounds, and my doc telling me I need to make some changes. A buddy of mine is an avid mountain biker and suggested I take a ride again and see what I thought. I picked up a decent starter Trail bike from my buddy and started riding daily. After a month or so on the FUTS and around town I progressed from pushing hard to get a couple miles to riding 20+ miles with relative ease. After 300 or so miles under my belt I started getting bored and feeling myself losing interest. It was time to use this newfound stamina to hit some trails, which is where I found my new love, singletrack. Quite quickly I found that uppercuts to the backside on my hardtail wasn't going to be a good time so it was time to upgrade to a better bike. Okay, now that that is out of the way.... Here is where Flag Bike Rev comes into the picture. During my FUTS and stamina building tenure I found I was getting lots of flats due to thorns. I headed in for yet another set of tubes and advice. Rando took care of me with the new tubes and stans (which has been fantastic, zero flats since). I found him to be super personable in that visit so I was happy to go back once it was time to start shopping for full suspension. After lots of research I found the Ibis Ripley to be my next bike so I went in to check one out. Unfortunately the only one in stock was the wrong frame size, but still worth the visit to get an idea of the feel. I was happy that I ran into Rando again. He took the time to breakdown specs (I'm still wet behind the ears, this was huge) and gave me tons of knowledge without ever being "judgy" about my lack thereof, but one huge thing stood out about Rando. Aside from these two visits I'm a stranger to him, but as I shared my story of cutting over 20# and dropping my blood pressure where my doc wants it without medication via mountain biking the past two months his eyes lit up and he met my internal excitement with a huge amount of his own. A fist bump and a "hell yeah, great job!" meant a lot to me in my journey. More than I could ever tell him in that moment. Getting back into shape has been something I've been very proud of myself for, and getting such a push of energy from a complete stranger was amazing. His excitement for my progression both on the bike as well as from a health perspective was palpable. This guy loves what he does, and he loves to share in the wins of others in the community. I can't wait for my Ripley to come in, and hope to someday be advanced enough to run into Rando on the trails. I cannot recommend Flag Bike Revolution and Rando enough.

A birthday present worth the wait!

This is the best bike shop in the area. If you are looking for repairs, or to buy a bike, this is where you want to be.

All in all, we had a great time biking in the beautiful mountain bike trails of Flagstaff. As far…read moreas our bike shop experience, however, I was incredibly disappointed. My husband and I were visiting Flagstaff with family over our Anniversary and had coordinated a day of biking while our infant son was babysat for the day. I called two weeks in advance and confirmed our rental at least four times by phone, each time feeling satisfied with my over the phone customer service. We had planned to pick up our bikes the day before our full day rental, after confirming this with an employee who told us to arrive at 5-5:30 on Sunday night to pick up our bikes for an additional $10 charge for day-before pickup. We showed up at 4:45 only to find the shop closed. We were so confused and frustrated! We had to coordinate a pickup from family, who graciously agreed to drop us off the next morning for our full day rental. We waited for the shop to open 5 minutes late. When we asked about what had happened the previous night, the employee said they had decided to sporadically close at 4:30 ( 30 min early) and forgot to check their rental books before doing so (and also never checked their voicemail to hear my heads up call). After re-confirming our rental for the 5th time, the employee proceeded to find bikes that fit my husband and I and then spent the next 25-30 min prepping the bikes, which should have been ready for our rental before the shop opened that day (in my opinion). We both work at bike shops in MN and love the casual small-town feel of a local shop. I want to say that I really enjoyed my experience here, but honestly, this is one of the worst examples of how to run a customer-facing business I have experienced. :(
