    Beef & chicken bowl...meh
    J P.

One word: meh. Team was friendly but when I asked about the food they were unable to answer my questions and seemed as if they had worked there for a very short time. I ordered a half & half: a bowl of white meat chicken and beef. Unfortunately despite my ordering white meat and paying a premium, I was given dark meat (greasy chicken thighs) And while the spicy sauce was good, the beef was very dry and tasted as if it had been sitting for way too long. I like the sauce selection, but I also didn't realize that the kimchi I was offered was a nearly $4 upcharge (and was cold & slimy, again it had been sitting around way too long). The place is messy and dirty. I gave 2 stars as they were very friendly.

I got a "Regular" Bowl with Beef, Chicken, Veggies, Avocado. I added some of her "Magic Sauce" which is a soy based sauce, and some of her Jalapeño Hot Sauce... I could have drankkkk the Magic Sauce. Everything was fresh and delicious. Next time I'll get a "Mini Bowl" so I don't eat so much!!!!

As the saying goes, "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice. Shame on me." But, this time it wasn't my mother who tricked me into eating my veggies (or eating healthier.) It was The Flame Broiler and that darn Magic Sauce. Now, I am convinced that healthy eating is the best when it comes to fast food options. After countless suggestions, I found myself dining at their San Marco location for lunch. Their $5 Special (Chicken Bowl with a fountain drink) totally caught me by surprise as I was browsing their menu selections. And the staff was helpful with guiding through my first experience of dining with them. The establishment was clean but, I'm assuming they had a bit of a lunch rush as the napkin container was completely empty which also proved to me that their food must be delicious. This restaurant is true to their mission, a healthier alternative for fast food; and has been placed on my radar for that reason alone.

    Chicken bowl.

Good healthy food made to order. Good service. A better take out place but sit down is available.

Fast food never looked so yummy. Love grabbing a work lunch from here since it's something a bit different from the usual sandwiches and soups. This is an office favorite actually. If anyone ever says "flame broiler?" there are never any complaints which is so rare! This is an order at the counter and have your bowl created in front of you. Think of subway for korean take out. I love getting a veggie base because then I'm not worried about rice sticking in my teeth all day. Plus it's an easy way to trick myself into eating healthier. They have the protein options of beef, chicken, and tofu. I'm still not brave enough to try the tofu because I don't want to sacrifice my tasty beef! Everything is always seasoned to perfection and cooked really well whether it's the protein, the veggies, or the rice. I would highly recommend this fast food joint. Stop by the sauce bar and grab some magic and hot sauces to go. Be warned the extra hot is exactly that, extra hot!

    Weekend special.

There's not many happy hour opportunities I get when I'm working during the week, however, I make it my business to get here. All things considered, the San Marco location is walking distance from my job. From the hours of 2p to 5p, you're able to get a mini chicken bowl and drink for under $5. Yeah, I'll take two of those please, one for now and one for an hour from now. If you're thinking of stopping by, there's parking in the back but there's also street parking as well, typically where I go. San Marco is a busy street, be mindful if you're thinking of parking along the front. When you walk in, you'll smell the freshly grilled chicken, see the steam from the veggies and by this point, you're ready to order. Some of your options range from brown or white rice, your veg choices are carrots, broccoli and cabbage. For your protein, there's tofu, chicken and beef stir fry style of meat. In the event you're going for chicken, you can add white meat for an upcharge, although, I'd stick with the dark meat, it's more flavorful. On top, have them add the green onions as an incentive, splurge a little. Before you leave, be sure to walk over to the sauce station and grab their magic sauce and some of their hot sauce. If you're feeling really frisky, get some of the XXX hot sauce. I'm a fan of mixing the magic sauce and XXX, it's a spice take on teriyaki. If you're one that enjoys something simple and a healthier option to Chinese take-out, give Flame Broilers a try. If you're disappointed, hey, well, don't blame me, blame your taste buds. Pffft!!

Fresh. Simple. Delicious. *Gordon voice* But seriously, same thoughts for me. Flame broiler is a fast food franchise. Most of the items are pre cooked but don't let that turn you off. They serve teriyaki rice bowls. They come with grilled chicken, steak, or tofu, served with either white/brown rice and mixed veggies. This joint is perfect if you're trying to loose weight but craving for a big bite. You can ask for just mixed veggies only without rice. Use the magic sauce for that extra teriyaki flavor and the a small amount of the hot sauce(yes, they're very hot). Now this ain't your traditional Korean cuisine so don't expect any lettuce wraps and kimchi. Though I hope they had kimchi at least. Lol One thing that stood out with my experience here is the manager is doing paper work and there's only one person in front of us in the line but she quickly dropped what she was doing to assist and make sure we got everything we needed. I really appreciate that. We ordered, food is ready right away and we left pretty satisfied. Forgot your meal prep? Go to Flame Broiler!

Liked the angus beef bowl. It wasn't fatty or chewy at all and the veggies were freshly steamed. Fast quality food.

When we arrived, we found this pleasant environment with ample seating outside. As we began to review the menu, the manager of the shop was very friendly and helpful in navigating their menu. Ultimately, I decided to sample the bacon, egg, and cheese wrap. It was quite good. I believe they used a cheddar that was a bit strong for my taste and would have preferred some milder cheese options (like provolone). Regardless, it was tasty. My only complaint (and this may be specific to me) is that they did not have a cola flavored diet drink to offer. Yes, I admit, I need my Diet Coke with my meal. So, I had to walk around the corner and find a place to sell me a soda. Other than that, a great option for a meal.

We ordered the Brussel sprouts as an appetizer, they were phenomenal! Then we both decided on steak for dinner. I got the filet, and ordered it medium rare and it was perfect. I got the German chocolate cake (this apparently isn't their normal one) and my husband got the dulce cheesecake. The waitress we had was great, and she recommended lots of tips and favorites to try. The only negative thing that I would say is that it's a bit cramped, so it was very loud and hard to hear each other at points. This was an amazing dinner. We will be back

Our waiter, Evan, was very proactive & offered suggestions with menu items. We started with some cocktails, the gentlemen with the cider beer & an old fashioned. I chose a glass of bubbly & the birthday girl had the fizz cocktail. It was incredible with a fresh blackberry puree. We started with the fried green tomatoes & the calamari, both were delicious! Calamari was prepared well and not too chewy. We shockingly each chose a salad: the bistro steak, the chop chop Asian, the goat cheese, and the salmon. Each one was incredible. Mine was the chop chop and I absolutely loved it! It was HUGE and you can bet I ate every single bite. Loved it!' We finished with the brownie topped with ice cream for the birthday girl, it was extremely tasty! Thanks again to Evan for making our night! He was a fantastic waiter! Would absolutely request him in the future.

One of the highlights of the evening was the chef/owner personally visiting our table. He was incredibly warm, hospitable, and genuinely passionate about his restaurant and guests. The salad was fresh and delicious, and you could immediately tell that everything was made to order. I had the Sofy with veal, and my husband had the Sofy with chicken -- hands down one of the best pasta dishes I've had in a very long time. Every bite was flavorful and perfectly prepared. Five stars all the way! Highly recommend this little gem to anyone looking for authentic Italian food and outstanding hospitality in Jacksonville.

She made sure to check up on us, answered all of our questions, and refilled our drinks often. It was super clean there too! We were started off with some fresh, warm bread and a balsamic/olive oil dipping sauce. The bread was perfectly crispy and went so well with the dipping sauce. We were served cold bread before at restaurant so I'm glad we had warm bread! We decided on the following appetizer and entrees: Fried meat ravioli - 8/10: it came out piping hot and it was so delicious! Fried to a nice, golden brown and covered in panko crumbs, it didn't feel heavy at all. It came with a fresh marinara sauce and had parmesan cheese sprinkled on top of the fried ravioli. Each bite was cheesy, crispy, tasty, meaty, and we devoured it quickly! Carbonara Alla Roma - 8.5/10: I thought the portion would be small since I seen photos online but it was actually a great portion. I had enough to take home and eat as leftovers! The pasta was cooked perfectly and the alfredo sauce was balanced and decadent. I could taste the pecorino romano, and cracked black pepper. The pancetta was smoky and added a nice umami flavor to the pasta. I didn't rate it higher because it was slightly missing a little bit of of that BAM factor! but it was pretty delicious! The Sofi - chicken - 9/10: Oh my gosh! My best friend got this and I wished I would have too! It was sooooooooooooooooooo good! It had prosciutto di parma, mushrooms, asparagus, shallots, cooked in wine and tossed in a rose cream sauce. The pasta was also cooked perfectly and that sauce was to die for! Each bite was like tasting the finest flavors and spices of Italy. I could not believe how tasty this was! If you come here, you HAVE to try this dish! Tiramisu - 9.5/10: One of the best tiramisus we've had in Jacksonville. It was the perfect amount of espresso and cream. They had dollops of chocolate sauce on the side and helped elevated the flavor of the tiramisu. It also wasn't super sweet which we appreciate. We don't really like overly sweet desserts and this one hits the mark on everything. Overall, service, food, and atmosphere was great! We would definitely come back to try other menu items! Thank you for such a great first experience, Sofi's!

Yesterday was my first visit, and I ordered the Reuben sliders, the regular Reuben, a turkey slider, and the beer cheese soup. Everything was absolutely delicious! I also tried the key lime cookie, and it was so good that I had to go back today for another one. Because my first experience was so great, I returned the very next day to try something different. This time, I had the sausage and chicken gumbo, along with (yes!) another key lime cookie. The gumbo was flavorful and comforting--definitely a great choice. What truly stood out the most, though, was the service. On my first visit, my waitress--who was also managing--along with another server, were incredibly polite and courteous. Although I can't remember their names, they were both exceptional. Today, I had the best cashier/server who even brought me a sample of the gumbo before I ordered. I also met the kitchen manager, who was friendly and confident about the dish, and the general manager came out to introduce himself and was very welcoming. This place is a 10 out of 10! I will absolutely be coming back on my next visit to Jacksonville. I love this place! Kesha Bentley #MississippiGirl
