I think this is really the only option for Persian kabob and food in the Raleigh/Durham area, and it does not disappoint! The restaurant is in a great location and has the feel of an intimate family place. They serve all the classic kabob options (kubideh, chicken joojeh, etc) as well classic Persian dishes. I think their kubideh and chicken kabob are the Star, combined with the lentil rice- winning combo! It's easy to order in or eat in- always hits the spot for me! read more

I was in town on business with a craving for lamb. Upon a quick Yelp search, I found this place and decided to check it out. The waiting staff was very friendly and educated me on their menu options. I've tried Mediterranean food before, so I knew the basics.I ended up ordering a lamb kabob plate, with 1/2 rice and 1/2 salad the total with tax for that was $15 which I thought was a bit pricey, but so is lamb in general, so I accepted it and paid. I opened my box to the smallest kabob I have ever seen for lamb. I think this place is a but over price for the portion size you receive. Keep that in mind before you go! read more

Overall a good if a bit bizarre experience. Showed up at 6:45 on a Saturday and got the last available table. Based on the previous reviews here I expected it to be empty but it was bumping the entire time we were there. It took a bit of a wait to get menus and water but from then on service was prompt and attentive. Ordered the deluxe appetizer platter, the koobideh kabob (ground beef), the barreh kabob (lamb) and the khoresht-e-bamyeh (okra) stew with baghali polo (rice seasoned with dill and fava beans). The appetizer platter was on point for the most part though a little smaller than I would have hoped at 10 dollars. Everything tasted good though, especially the eggplant dip and the dolma (stuffed grape leaves). The lamb kabob was great, tender and full of flavor. The ground beef one was sort of bland but still completely decent. The okra stew was a bit underwhelming (9 dollars for maybe 15 okra pods in a thin tomato sauce) but I thought it was good with the baghali polo even though one of the owners came out and told me while serving it that it was a really bad idea to order that rice with the okra stew (which was good advice I guess but definitely too late). I would definitely be back for the rices and kabobs but not quite as good as I had hoped (nowhere near as good as the late, great Cafe Parvaneh in Chapel Hill). read more

We went with my family to celebrate Naw Ruz and it was bad. They put us 9 people in the corner and there were a lot of space around. The bread was cold and smelly. The said free appetizers for $50 and up and we paid more than $200 and they charge us for the appetizers. Not a very good experience and I'm so embarrassed for my guest. read more

I really enjoyed lunch here. Service was really welcoming and attentive. They give you pitchers of water at the table which I love because I have to wait less for a refill. The amount of food you get is really great for the price of it. The lentil rice has great flavor. I got the steak kabobs and my friend got the lamb shank. Neither of us finished, but we both thought it was really good! Will def be back read more

Yuuummmyy!!! My review could really stop there. I stopped by one day while visiting a nearby store. I was greeted immediately by an employee and offered a menu. I wanted takeout but with the open floor plan it's really no place to wait so I'd suggest calling in your order unless dining in...just FYI. There are some menu items photographed on the wall above the kitchen entryway if you want to get a feel for the dishes. On this visit, I ordered the lamb kabob with lentil rice. I wanted to split salad and lentil rice but the gentleman taking my order advised me to not get the salad. I'm glad I listened. The rice/lentil blend was delicious, plentiful, and flavorful. It more than enough for 2 people or multiple servings for one. It also came with a cucumber sauce for the meat. It was tasty but not needed as the meat was cooked perfectly. The place is so good and the people so friendly, I went back the following week. Got the same rice/lentil blend but this time with chicken. So good!Can't wait to try more items. read more

Excellent Ghormeh Sabzi . Gheymeh is good too. Service is not consistent and often slow. They really need at least one more waiter there . I thought $2.99 for a piece of baklava when you can get 2 for $2 at Neomonde was a lot . We keep going back when we crave iranian food since that's the only option. Terribly overrated. I wonder if all the good reviews are real. Had the Flame Sampler Combo. The koobideh was flavorful but the chicken was dry and the lamb, tough. I did like the fluffy rice with lentils. We found the owner very off-putting and rude. Plus, they automatically add 15% tip on all dine-in orders. read more

This place is amazing. The staff and the owner are super cool and really know what they are delivering. The customer service is excellent and the taste of their food is scrumptious. I'm actually surprised to see unflattering reviews of Flame Kabob, that said I've always gotten take out so maybe that's saved it for me. The food has always been great, I've gotten a few different types of their kabobs, my favorite being the chicken kabobs with lentil rice. It usually comes to about $10, which is a little over my "grab a quick dinner" budget but with the rice and bread its extremely filling so I usually just wait till I'm starving and stop by. As others have noted, the decor is lacking and somehow they made a brand new building look dated on the inside. An older woman has always been behind the counter, I've come by enough times that she'll remember me and welcome me back. While she can be a little quirky, she's always extremely nice and has never messed up an order. They prepare the food when you order it - it does take a long time, but it is very fresh. read more

"Excellent Persian restaurant in Brier Creek" Came here twice now-- once with a Persian friend of mine who said it was the best place in the area for Persian food and a second time with just my family. It rocked both times. The atmosphere feels a bit like a strip-mall mini-restaurant, but they try to temper it with music, videos of scenery, and pictures (presumably from Iran). Positives: + Service. Several people complained about it in other reviews, but my experience was very positive both times. As an example, my daughter ordered a salty yogurt drink. The server looked slightly suspiciously at her, and then asked (wisely), "Would you like me to bring you a sample so you can know ahead of time if you like it?" Very nice, and he even brought samples for the rest of us. (She declined to order it, so his suggestion directly saved her money.) Great recommendations on the food, too. + Taste. Meat on the kebabs was excellent-- hint of spicy while highly flavorful. I went with a stew having beef cubes, kidney beans, and lots of greens, over rice. Absolutely delicious. + Price/ Value. Not super-cheap but definitely seemed a good value for the quality of product we got. Negatives (all minor): - Setting, as mentioned above. It was also a tiny bit cramped, but again, not unusual. - Speed. Good food takes time, and that seemed to apply here. Wasn't ridiculously long, but I figured kebabs and stew would be pretty fast. There were a TON of people in the restaurant by the time we got our food, too, so perhaps they just got slammed. Many seemed Persian/ Middle Eastern, so another positive on the authenticity of the food. Synopsis: If I lived closer to Brier Creek, I'd have this in my regular rotation for sure. After reading The Kite Runner, I felt a strong urge to get some lamb kebobs. That's one of the reasons why I came here today with some coworkers. We were warmly greeted by one of the owners because I think she knew one of my coworkers. I guess he is a frequent customer. Some of us got some of the free Chai tea which was very aromatic. I ordered the single lamb kabob with 1/2 rice and 1/2 salad. I ordered the 'green' rice because one of my coworkers got that from a previous visit and recommended it. Many people ordered the Lamb Shank special which looked really good but I stayed strong and went with my initial choice. We were served freshly baked naan which were very good. One of the best that I've had so far. The lamb kabob was juicy and tender. The green rice was actually seasoned quite well. Overall, the food is great quality for the value. The service was a bit slower than I expected. It took them forever to bring out our water pitchers, I think they just forgot it and we had to ask for it. read more

My go-to kabob spot. I typically order the Double Kafta with one spicy ground chicken and one ground lamb. I know that ground chicken does not sound appealing but it is my favorite chicken kabob. It is wonderfully spicy and does not dry out like chicken kabobs often tend to. The lamb kabob is delicious as well. I always opt for the lentil rice over the white rice. We stopped by after a workout and were in need of some hydration and food. They left the pitcher of water on the table for us. Much appreciated. The owner was super friendly and checked on us several times. We each had the chicken kabobs with lentils and rice. The chicken was so flavorful and moist. The rice was delicious as well. They offer homemade hot sauce to add a little kick to your meal. I ended my lunch with some baklava made by the owners wife? I was informed she makes all desserts in house. I can't pass that up! This place is very, very good. The only thing better than the food is the comfortable, friendly, family-owned environment. My gf and I have been meaning to try this place so we stopped in for a Friday night date night. The place was packed (and is literally tightly set up) but we got a table towards the back. Our waiter came over and, since it was our first time, he took us through the menu. He also brought out some of their traditional yogurt drink for us to try because we were curious. We started off with the hummus - it was awesome. I would go back just to get their hummus and bread. I can't explain what makes the bread so good, it's like pita mixed with naan, and it's unbelievable. For our entree I ordered the chicken and steak skewer meal with the basmati and lentil rice and salad. It also came with a yogurt dip. The house salad dressing wasn't my style, I would probably go with balsamic next time. But the chicken and steak were great and the portions were HUGE. I took half my dinner home, and will be having it for lunch tomorrow! At the very end you can get complimentary hot tea as an aperitif. It was a nice way to end the meal! This place is a gem. Charmingly old-school dining room with warm greetings from the owner set this apart from the fluorescent lights and formica of other places. This is like going to your dear auntie's house for a meal. Everything is made in house. 100% Halal. The bread is terrific and the kebabs ( I tried all three thanks to my lunch partners) are delicious and independently unique. Salad can be odd for western palates since it is served dry with a carafe of herbed lemon juice. Lentil rice was exceptionally tasty. We had to wait for an hour for the dinner to be served. It took them forever to serve us even after we ordered. A large party had come in and they were busy catering to their requests. We kept reminding them that we were fasting and need food but did not get served for an hour. Customer service is 0 All of us ordered a combo of chicken kubideh and beef kubideh with lentil rice. We have eaten these dishes many times there. This time the chicken kubideh were not made of chicken but had only egg in it with may be tiny bit of meat. When we complained to the owner he declined saying that egg was not used in the kabab. There was no chicken in the chicken kubideh at all. Never order chicken kubideh or beef kubideh. Order meat which is whole like beef cubes or chicken cubes nothing that is like a paste as they are mixing something to save the meat. read more

The food is prepared well and very tasty. However, the price is expensive for authentic Middle Eastern food. The price on each item on the menu is very confusing especially when you order online. A picture on the menu for ground spicy chicken koobideh showing the price for two skewers for $10.99, but when you go and pickup your order they tell you its only one skewer for $10.99 and double is $14.99. This is blatantly false advertisement on every page of the menu ! Don't be fooled by this restaurant, there are many other Middle Eastern restaurant in the area that offer better food with reasonable price. read more

As soon as we walked into the restaurant, a man who seemed like the owner or manager came rushing towards us in a very frustrated manner and said "no strollers!" What? Okay, what are we supposed to do then, we have a baby? I wanted to leave right then, like it was so awkward. My husband talked to him and said okay there's obviously room for it at a corner table which there were plenty of empty tables for us. So he agreed we can sit there. So just a heads up if you're a parent of a young baby and walk in with a stroller I guess? Anyway, it was hard to love the place after that. Food is good. My boyfriend likes it more than I do. Service:extremely slow, inattentive, not friendly.....at all. I had to get up and ask for a box & the check after 2 servers walked past us at least 10 times. No one ever stopped by to ask how things were. This was our first time here. We had a late lunch and everyone ordered something different. The food was EXCELLENT. I had the chicken breast kebab which was flavorful and juicy. The rice and tomato sides were fantastic. We also enjoyed the baklava. There is a 15% service charge to dine in that they said was NOT a tip. Just a heads up about that. The service was at first attentive, but then they seemed to forget about us for the bill and for any water refills. However the food was excellent so I would return. read more

Only Persian place I'm aware of in the triangle. Serves classic Persian dishes including a wide variety of kabobs. I always get the chicken and Beef Koobideh kabobs which are seasoned well and very tender. Don't skip out on the provided yogurt, it goes great with everything including the bread. There's also complimentary tea at the front of the store which is a nice way to end your meal. Beware of busy times and slower service on the weekend. read more
