    Flaming Chicken Spicy Noodle
    David Y.

Might be personal tastes but expected way more given the reviews. I got the flaming chicken spicy noodle and my friend got the salmon shrimp rice. Both dishes could have used more protein and they looked better than they tasted as the flavours were a bit meh. Prices were reasonable, space was bright and clean, service was friendly.

There's something about food arriving on a sizzling plate that makes it taste so much better! We visited Flaming Kitchen on Yonge street and we were not disappointed! Originally we were planning to visit Souper Hot Pot (located next door), but after waiting a while in line we decided to check out flaming kitchen. The food came out super quick, which we loved since we were so hungry! The portion sizes were also the right amount to leave you satisfied but not overly stuffed. Definitely recommend!

Flaming Kitchen is so nostalgic for me because I used to always go to their Scarborough location when I was younger. I was excited to try out their location in downtown ever since I found out that they were opening on Yonge St. I came around 6 pm on Friday and was glad to see that there were a couple of empty tables. No waiting needed!!! I was greeted by a waitress, got seated and was given utensils and a personal water pitcher for the table. I liked how they have daily deals throughout the week. Since it was Friday, I got the pork cutlet for $5.99. As for my main, I got the spicy mentaiko beef udon ($15.99). This was good, but nothing super amazing. Also it wasn't very spicy and lacked mentaiko flavour in my opinion. The pork cutlet I got was crispy and had a good amount of pork in it, and it came with a spicy mayo sauce to pair. There was a small mix-up with my order--since you write it down yourself and hand it to the server, there may have been an input error. An extra entrée was added and it arrived to my table. I had to let the staff know I hadn't ordered it. It also took a long time for the food to come out. I got my main before the cutlet. My dish also came way before my boyfriend's dish (7 minutes in between). When I used to always go to flaming kitchen, I got their truffle dishes, so maybe I'll try that next time instead.

First time trying the Flaming Kitchen & it did not disappoint! Their honey garlic beef was delicious and the popcorn chicken is so similar to the ones in Taiwan! Service was really quick and easy to order from the QR code ordering system. The place is huge so it doesn't feel too crammed. Can't wait to try out their other dishes!

This is their fourth location. This location soft-opened on 2025-01-19. Until 2025-01-26, you get 20% the entire menu. There are also daily specials ranging from $1.99 to $7.99. They specialize in Asian fusion sizzling hot plates. The hot plate is over 200C! They also have some very nice looking desserts! I ordered the following: 1. D13: Honey Garlic Beef Rice ($14.99, special $11.99). 2. L1: Chocolate Lava Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream ($9.99, special $7.99). The D13 is a Teppanyaki Rice Set, served in a hot plate. You can add additional topping for additional cost; I didn't have additional toppings. The dish came out really sizzling! Just remember not to take too long taking photos and videos before turning the beef or else it might be over cooked on one side. The beef was sliced thinly. You should turn it over so it can also cook on the other side. The beef was really tender and tasted good. The sauce was was also good when mixed with the white rice and corn. The L1 was so beautifully plated. There was melted chocolate coming out of the cake when cut. The dessert was delicious. I would definitely come back and try other dishes and desserts. The customer service was good. There is plenty of indoor seating. The restaurant is brightly lit. There is loud pop music playing in the background. Too bad it is too loud that it drowns out most of the sizzling sounds. There is free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There are separate male/female washrooms and one gender-neutral washroom which is wheelchair accessible. There is paid neighbourhood street parking. There are two high chairs for little children. What a hidden gem Flaming Kitchen is! Highly recommended if you're looking for sizzling plates and hot pots. Their food is generously portioned and priced well too. We got their Sizzling Deluxe Teppanyaki Rice that came with beef, shrimp, salmon, scallops that you cook first on the sizzling plate. You then mix it up with the rice and garlic butter sauce hidden within the rice for a delicious surprise with every bite. The Sizzling Rice Cakes were cheesy and spicy too. Also tried their Spicy Beef Mentaiko Noodles on a hot plate with the noodles perfectly cooked. Rounded our meal off with mango mochi. I would definitely return again soon!

    Sizzling rice cakes no spice

Flaming Kitchen serves a variety of snacks and are known for their "sizzling" dishes. I ordered the sizzling rice cakes, the pork cutlet sizzling plate and popcorn chicken. Personally, I found the food a bit underwhelming. The popcorn chicken was seasoned okay, but it had an oily aftertaste and the batter was starchy. The sizzling rice cakes were okay, it was my fault for ordering no spice (tip: order less spice not no spice). It was very garlic and butter forward. The pork cutlet curry rice dish, for me, was underwhelming. The rice was undercooked, the pork was fried a bit strange (batter falling off), and the sauce was too thick. The photos make the food look a lot better, but I think other chains do the sizzling plates better (like Pepper Lunch). Overall, it's not a bad place for food, the prices are reasonable and they have specials, but I prefer other chains over this one. I heard that other locations are better, so maybe it's just this location or my experience with this one day. The inside is clean, service is good, and you can order via a QR code at the table. 5% cash discount as well.

The broth was sweet, savoury, and not overly tangy. We got it with sweet potato noodles, which had the most satisfying and addictive chew. There was already so much meat and veg in there that you really don't need to add much else. My only thing is I wish there were more sweet potato noodles to go with everything in the bowl. We added the pig trotter (because duh!), which was perfectly seasoned, tender, and had that nice gelatinous texture. Because of how big the portion was, we took the leftovers home, added more glass noodles, and was still able to get two full meals out of it the next day! The MaoCai broth was pretty spicy. We went with medium, and were breaking a sweat. The numbing heat hits fast and makes it hard to sip on the broth while eating (definitely not for the weak). Still, it had a solid ratio of meat to veg to noodles, and everything held up well with the broth. The parfaits were exactly what we needed after all that hotpot. The Citrus Garden Green Tea had a nice blend of green tea, citrus, and coconut that worked surprisingly well together. But the Brown Sugar Black Tea Parfait was our favourite. The tapioca balls were perfectly chewy and not too sweet, and the mix of black tea and grass jelly gave it such a good combo of textures. It was rhe perfect cool down. From what I hear, if you can say their tongue twister 3x in 30s you can get 50% off their new ice cream parfaits!

I became paranoid and worried about my family biting into steel. Will this result in a trip to the hospital? The server was apologetic and helped us change the broth immediately but honestly I wish there was more from management. It's not like finding a strand of hair. This is serious!!! Daimaru's lack of food safety and poor hygiene is unacceptable. I am still fuming that this happened.
