I was invited here from a friend's birthday and for pre super bowl drinks Saturday evening. Parking was easy to nab and the hostess directed us to our party upon arrival. I started with a delightful lemon drop martini as it was happy hour. The garlic rolls were absolutely phenomenal and the firecracker shrimp was nice and spicy. Hubby's shrimp scampi lacked flavor but my hot wings with garlic were a hit. I finished with a lovely espresso martini to wash all the goodness down. I live in Orlando so when I have a chance to go to south Florida I have to visit Flanigan's! I personally love the rockin' rib rolls! They are delicious! This location is not one I've been to before. Never been to Flanigan's but while traveling, we were told to go to one. The restaurant is decorated with sport fishing pictures and Knick knacks. A great sports bar type of place. The menu is huge, something for everyone. Our appetizer was garlic rolls, just doused in garlic butter, ridiculous amount of garlic butter. So yummy. My husband ordered the strip steak and it was seasoned and cooked perfectly. I saw a combination of pasta salad and Caesar salad and topped it off with a fried tilapia. Delicious. I've resisted dining at Flanigan's for the last four years since I've become a local, primarily for two reasons: 1. I was told that the cheapos from "The Island" sneak into Falnigan's under the cover of night for a bargain. 2. each time I passed by, the mobs of folk that congregate at the door waiting to get in, let me politely say, didn't seem to me to be aficionados of fine dining. The ole' idiom of not judging a book by its cover most certainly held true. I admit, shamefully, that I was wrong. In a matte of a week, I stopped by twice. Both times for dinner. I was greeted by friendly hostess that immediately on the first occasion relegated us to the bar (the place was packed) and to a table on the second occasion (late in the evening). IN both instances we were provided with several menus which caused us some confusion. How nice would it be if they offered one voluminous with all their offerings and a du jour card? Between the two visits we ordered: Ribs dinner combo, cheeseburger, salad with salmon, Caesar salad and a bunch of assorted libations. Libations aside, the food was excellent. I perceived all to me high-quality, well cooked, and most certainly fresh (because of how busy they are). Great food, service, price and late hours, what else can a West Palm local want? read more

Flanigan's 330 Southern Blvd., West Palm Beach, FL 33405 4.5 Stars (chain restaurant review) With 25 in-state locations, one could certainly call Flanigan's a burgeoning star on the eatery scene. I am sure there are cruddy restaurants everywhere, but like engineers, there is a large accumulation of them in Brevard County. When I entered Flanigan's, I steeled myself for another fleecing. Apparently, the owners in Palm Beach want even low-end joints to serve good food. Bianca was our server today, and she was the only downside I experienced. She wasn't disgruntled, rude, or anything like that. She was just your average myrmidon doing what she's told, no more, no less, and that runs true to form with most places. I put in an order for one Texas Burger and a Tuna Steak Sandwich. Bianca returned with my order, after taking the obligatory food review pics, I dug in to the comestibles at hand. First up on the Big Boy's ever-vigilant palate was the Texas Burger. Made with a 10 oz. Hand-formed patty of USDA Choice ground cow served up on a Kaiser roll with tomato, bacon, Bleu cheese, a stack of Tumbleweed Onions, and then drizzled with a homemade wing sauce. This burger was very good for a chain. Cooked to the perfect doneness and bursting with flavor I had to take more than one bite. Did I mention the bacon? The Tumbleweed Onions added an extra crunch and the wing sauce was flavorful yet had enough kick to it to remind you it was on a Texas-influenced burger. The Tuna Steak sandwich had the same fantastic Kaiser roll as the base, but not the same quality as the ground bovine. This was obviously from a frozen tuna steak, but someone back there sure as heck knew how to prepare it! I ordered mine Blackened, and it was cooked to a perfect medium and exceedingly easy on the taste buds. If the quality of the protein was upped just a tad, this would have been a 5 Star review; regardless, the Big Boy says, "If you are in South Florida and don't know where to go for some tasty victuals, remember The Big Boy said Flanigan's." read more
