What was there looked legitimately fresh, with that telltale steam still rising off some of the items. The staff (two ladies behind the counter) greeted me with actual smiles and a cheerful "good morning," which instantly put me in a better mood. Service was lightning-fast too; I was in and out in under four minutes. I went with the spinach and cheese pie because it looked the most tempting at that hour. First bite: the crust is the real star here -- unmistakably handmade, flaky on the outside, tender inside, with that perfect golden color and slight buttery taste.
