I had a great first experience using movers with Flash movers. I've heard some horror stories but they were so efficient and helpful - I felt bad because I wasn't able to fit all my stuff in boxes so somethings were in bags but they came well prepared and put it all in a big box. Perfect moving experience. Manuel and his team of 5 arrived promptly for the move and loaded my studio apartment into a Uhaul in less than an hour. Everything was wrapped perfectly and securely. Great experience at a very affordable price. My move was a difficult, heavy load move. Being that it was a 2 story home with a basement moving to another 2 story home with basement not once did these guys complain or slow down. I expected a 4 man crew and got a 6 man crew. They were professional, friendly and fast. When they arrived I had more items to move then what was expected and what I told them they would be moving when I requested a quote. They moved all my items and they even went as far as packing and wrapping without any additional cost. Even with the more items added to my move they still got the job done in the estimated time of 5 hours. I was pretty impressed with how quick they were. I also liked the fact that they assembled and disassembled all of my items without being asked to or charging extra for it. These guys are very good and very affordable. read more

Manny and his team moved my family from the city to the burbs this weekend and did an excellent job. The crew consistently arrived on time and worked hard throughout the entire move. They handled large furniture, complex electronics, and numerous boxes. Plus, they did it while dealing with ridiculously cold temperatures. When I talked to Manny initially to schedule, I asked him about how he handles disputes, and he indicated that he prefers to work things out with the customer and be up front. Best rates for sure, and it comes with so much, whereas other places charge extra for furniture pads, wrapping, etc. I moved on a hot day during the COVID19 outbreak, and every person still wore a mask the entire time. Setting up the move was easy, the move itself was VERY FAST, and the team of movers was super accommodating. During the move, we an extra stop to our storage unit and the team was flexible and easy to work with. The only downside (if you consider it a downside) was that they were cash only and we didn't know that in advance. Going to the bank to withdraw a large amount of money WHILE moving was kind of a pain, but not a huge deal in the long run. Wish these guys took credit or some sort of electronic payment. read more

These guys were recommended to me by two colleagues who had recently used Manny and Flash Movers. They were extremely efficient. Completed the move two hours faster than other companies quoted me. In fact, it would have been even quicker had we not arrived 45 min prior to our move-in time at our new building (had to wait for elevator to become available). Took roughly 5 hours total for a 2br/2ba move of about 20 miles - which is exceptional given Chicago traffic. The team and truck arrived 15 min early to start the move and worked together in assembly line fashion to get everything carefully wrapped, packed, and organized into the truck. They had plenty of wardrobe boxes to transport clothes and blankets and plastic wrap for furniture. All in all, they made moving much less stressful. Solid communication. Amazing service! Amazing price! I highly suggest this company for your moving needs. This was honestly the easiest, least stressful, smoothest move I have ever experienced (when it could have easily been the worst move ever). Of course my lease expired on the coldest day Chicago has ever seen. A few days before, I reached out and confirmed with the company that we were still good to go with the move as temperatures were supposed to be below -20 that day. I had no choice but to move this day as my lease was up and I had already paid and scheduled the elevators in each apartment building. They responded within minutes confirming the move no matter the weather. The day of the move, 2 movers showed up 15 minutes prior to their start time. They shrink wrapped off all my fragile items, quickly placed them on moving carts, into the elevators and on to the truck. I did not have too many items to move but it seems like everything I had was in the truck in the blink of an eye. I was astonished at how quickly and efficiently they moved. When we got to my new building they unloaded the truck, placed everything in the elevators and most of my stuff into my new unit. As it was the coldest day ever, a water pipe burst in my new unit and they quickly moved everything out into the hallways while I went to go figure out the situation. They waited with me to figure out the new plan as this unit was no longer available to move into that day. Fast forward, I was reassigned another unit (sans burst pipe) two floors down. Without hesitation, the movers quickly brought everything back into the elevator, down to the new unit and moved everything in there. Again, in the blink of an eye. This was all within the time frame quoted. What could have been an extremely stressful day was saved by these amazing movers. Not only were they quick, efficient, extremely professional, and very friendly, they saved the day. And I could not have asked for a better price! I am extremely grateful for this company and movers. Today we moved from a 3 bedroom coach house to a SFM and I chose Flash because their quote was competitive and their reviews were amazing. Alex, the leader of the 5 man crew, told us that we had more stuff than estimated and they needed to make two trips. Because I submitted an online form for an estimate I was understanding.. there is a margin of error to consider. So I said, "let's proceed". When I asked him how much he thought the new quote would be he responded very humbly, "whatever you feel is fair". I was shocked... in a good way. I thought he was going to throw out a ridiculous number but he said he wanted to honor the quote given, and he would take whatever I thought was fair. Who does that? They also handled the one-way street traffic and small staircases that come with living in Chicago very well. They quoted our items after emailing them a list and after adding a few items day of. AVOID!!! Was quoted $300 flat rate for my move over the phone- I provided an exact list of what needed to be moved. Really not much to move so the price seemed fair. When the movers arrived they seemed confused and unorganized and told us that our move would actually be $450. When I asked why the price increase by $150, they said they needed to talk to their boss, Manuel (the person who quoted the price for me on the phone). After much back and forth on the phone they said they could actually do the job but for $350...still confused as to why the price differential, they told me that it was because my nightstand (that weighs less than 30lb) was actually a dresser and would cost more to move then. They could see my frustration and again called their boss this time I assume to secure another moving job. Becoming incredible inpatient, seeing that all they did was show up to call their boss and talk amongst themselves on how to rip us off, I told them to respectfully leave. Please don't use this moving company they don't stand behind their word and try to take advantage of people during their most vulnerable times. read more
