New manager stinks. Place always overcrowded. Chaotic. Dont order the grilled chicken- tastes slimy chewy and cheap!!

Ive been going to Flashback Diner for many years and Ive never had a better experience than this past week, and it was all because of our waitress Tamma. She was the most caring, service-oriented waitress Ive had at any restaurant. She has passion for her restaurant, and has a true concern for her patrons. She ensures a great experience. We will all be requesting her from now on, and will surely be going back more. Thank you Tamma, you're the ideal employee!!! A true asset! read more

One of the best diners I've ever experienced. Renovated a few years ago to give a more contemporary look and add waiting area sofas just outside the main entrance, Flashback is busier than ever. Great value complete meals and a large variety of a la carte offerings. Tzaziki, Greek yogurt with cucumber and dill, gets an added kick of garlic here and is better than any I've had in Athens. Massive, delicious, cakes served as too large a slice for one. Some of the nicest and most efficient servers I have found anywhere-they work as a team and keep an eye on each others tables to ensure all diners get attentive service at all times. If you hungry in north Dade county or southern Broward (the place is practically on the border) don't miss this gem of a diner. read more

The potatoes were cold . The spinaxh was from a frozen box. The manager was from Greece and said she doesn't know what an American Greek salad was supposed to taste like. The miso salmon was flavorless and smothered in a brown sauce. Adequate is kind. Was hoping it would be good .one additional problem is my husbands stomach is now upset. VERY DISAPPOINTED! I ordered the shrimp scampi with linguini pasta, Matzo ball soup and a raspberry sweet iced tea; I had high expectations due to the reviews written for other locations. The first dish presented was a bowl of Matzo ball soup and the presentation was horrible. I received a bowl of chicken noodle soup, yes, chicken noodle soup with a Matzo ball the size of a baseball perched. My spoon looked as if it had been submerged in the bowl and lifted out and placed on the accompanying saucer. After fifteen minutes I stopped the waitress who has clearly failed to remember bread for the table and the raspberry iced tea. When she returns with the tea, and my entree, I taste the tea immediately and find it to be unpalatable, as for the shrimp scampi and pasta, I can taste the garlic, wine and the margarine, versus butter which has a distinct taste, but where are the tomatoes and basil? Edible but not what one would expect based on description and cost. DIRECT COPY FROM THE MENU (Shrimp Scampi Sauteed with Garlic, White wine, Fresh Basil and Tomato and served over Linguini). Possibly an off day for the chef and the Waite staff...but I'm not going to punish my palate with a revisit! read more

It's amazing after all of these years that flashback still has an amazing menu friendly staff and great food. The soups are always fresh and hot and my favorite is the club sandwich piled with turkey bacon cheese and lettuce. The dinner specials are always good. I've been here so many times on so many occasions and the food is always delicious! It's a bit overpriced for diner food but the service and food always meet my expectations! My sons favorite is the berry topped Belgian waffles and I usually go for the veggie or western omelette. Before I gave up meat, I would eat the delicious chicken quesadilla or a burger. :-) They never close so it's made it quite convenient on nights where the hunger monster kicked in after work or a night out. I am not an expert on dIners, but i took my two kids there for Sunday breakfast and was pleasantly surprised about this place. The waitress was very attentive, food was above average, and it was just simple and nice. Nice to know that this place exsist in Aventura. read more

Cute diner, very busy at 10:30 pm on a Friday, just how a real diner should be. Great menu, HUGE selection, fair prices, great variety. The staff was pleasant and energetic. The salads are massive and they give you pita on the side. read more

OK...so on Thanksgiving we normally go to an uber-cool overpriced, underserviced "place to be seen" kinda restaurant, only to be "served" standard food with an attitude. And not the stylish, I want more of this, kind of attitude. The type of attitude that makes you think you should be serving the wait-person instead because they clearly aren't happy in their career choice and may go into melt down if you actually expect eye contact! You know...you've all been there! This year, the thought of paying $60+ for an $8 bottle of wine just wasn't cutting it with us. So, at the suggestion of our fabulous friends, we found ourselves at The Flashback Diner...I stalked their website of course, and admittedly had a little chuckle when I saw the $26.95 Thanksgiving Special. How could this possibly be any good - how could we possibly be driving all the way from Brickell to do this???? Well, knock me down...I am going to put this out there...I had possibly THE BEST turkey of my life! I started with the soup which could have been hotter...but hey, we were 30 minutes late and they were absolutely packed solid - no biggie. Loaves of yummy bread, delicious, moist turkey with stuffing and all the sides, piccolo bubbles, great wine, and then deserts which we had to take away with us! Despite how busy they were, the service could not have been better, our server was an absolute darling, the atmosphere was on fire and we had a fabulous time! With all that food and more than enough drinks we paid around $50 each including gratuity! Incredible! OK, so we hit the Rusty Pelican for (many) cocktails later, but hey, you don't mind splashing out when you've had an awesome lunch at a great price. When to flashback for a birthday lunch with two gal pals I ordered an ollie burger they ordered soup the waitress brought their soup and I was sitting there waiting when they finished eating their soup my sandwich showed up I don't think that was proper on her part.. mail was good just service was a little crazy. read more

Food is simple and relatively cheap. But the waitress and the manager i spoke on the phone were EXCEPTIONALLY RUDE! I call in for directions and after a while waitress answered the phone and could not tell me where they are located except Federal Hwy. than she put a guy with HEAVY accent on the phone. I asked him who he was. And Instead of replying to me with his name and title he asked me who i was. So i asked him again who he was and than again he replied with a question of who i was. Isn't it RUDE? When i asked if he a dishwasher or waiter or host he told me that he is a manager, but wouldn't say his name. What an unprofessional , inadequate jerk, there is NO WAY someone like that can be a manager or can he in Hallandale Beach, Fl.? For a diner, this place is fantastic! The food tastes homemade, because it is! I enjoyed every dish I have ordered of the extensive menu (except the chocolate mousse cake.) the cake slices are ENORMOUS. Breakfast is yummy. read more

If I could give this zero stars, I would. Used to be a good spot. Not anymore. The menus are old, stained and falling apart. They took off the lunch offerings, and cut back on the courses for the dinners. Waitress spaced out - only gave me margarine with my bread. Sodas were flat. Turkey came out dry, no gravy. Oh, and she forgot to tell me no stuffing. Last year, I had to leave when flies started landing all over my food. Thought I would give it another chance this year. Big mistake. read more

$20 for a Reuben, fries, and soda....WTF? very average, overly priced .....It took forever to pay the bill. I will never go here again.

I'm giving it 3 stars because for what it is, it's a very good place.... but it IS a diner. I enjoy my french toast everytime, my bacon is always yummy and if you order waffles with strawberries you get A LOT and not just 3 or 4 cut up. The help is always polite and friendly and they have a nice variety on the menu. I like to make a stop here every once in awhile and will continue to do so through the years. read more

I am so disappointed in the service and lack of prompt to go food order readiness. I have been coming here over a year and in the last 2 weeks, the quality of service has plummeted. I've called in 2 orders and neither have been ready. I call 15 min before and then have to wait another 15 min? Seriously??!! We went here for a weekday lunch while I was visiting family in South Florida. It was a decent place, but I doubt I'd go back. I had the turkey reuben sandwich with a side of fruit. The sandwich was reallyyy greasy and not very flavorful. I know some flavor is lost by switching from a regular reuben to a turkey reuben, but I should've have to add Russian dressing to every bite just so my sandwich isn't bland. Sister had an omelet, dad had a salad, and uncle had the salmon meal. Everything looked decent and nobody complained about anything. All in all, not a place to which I'd voluntarily return, but a decent food experience with good service. read more

This well-known diner in the North Miami Beach/Aventura area has a gorgeous selection of beautiful deserts that greet you upon entry. The menu is extensive and the service just excellent. Apparently, they are well known for their mac and cheese,which i found to be mostly tasteless, but the pastrami ruben i shared with my wife was excellent as was the cole slaw. As soon as we walked in the hostess was very kind and lead us straight to our booth. We really liked our waitress she was on point with everything and the service was fast! Ive lived in Florida my entire life and ive never experienced such great food at such affordable prices! Ive returned back every week at least once for the leg of lamb dinner it includes a vegetable side, a potato (mashed or baked), a soup or salad, a drink, a loaf of bread and even a dessert for under $20! We love this place. My faves are the Elvis, the cheeseburger, and the grilled chicken plate. My guy's faves are the cheeseburger and the fried chicken plate. The jallah bread is soooo good too. DONT ORDER RICE OVERNIGHT. I ordered my grilled chicken plate around 3 am one night and it was crunchy. I took it back and the chef came out and apologized personally. Aaaaw... Other than that the food is good. The staff is super friendly and caring. I got a free slice of that humongous red velvet cake and it was delicious and presented very cute. We needed a place to eat and my dad found this place. We decided to try it out. The service was excellent but the food was horrible. There were 4 of us and only one out of the 4 meals was enjoyed and eaten. The homemade chicken soup tasted like it came out of can, the coleslaw was bland and the chicken quesadilla was extremely greasy. read more

If I could give this place less than 1 start, I would. I've been coming to this location for many years and has had there share of issues but not it's just truly horrible. You have a staff who barely speak English and greeters who are rude and seem like they hate being there as much as I now hate going there. I repeated my order 2 times and they still got it wrong, mind you it was only for 2 people. Mark (manager I think) came over to help the girl at the cashier check me out and his face was just as miserable. You be seen him so many times while I'm there and he's always just sitting around. Ordered 2 sandwiches, one that came with a potato pancake that looked like a flat piece of charcoal,l and when I mentioned it to him, he just completely ignored me. There were some other issues but by then I just wanted to get out of there. Once I got home and tried the food, it only went even further downhill. My Rachel Sandwich was a flat pancake with no sauerkraut, dressing, coleslaw or anything else. The food preparation is horrible, food took even a bigger hit then the people who serve it, taste lousy. You can really tell this place went downhill as there has never been a time that I come in and it hasn't been busy or getting busy, this time it was almost totally empty. Never, never again. This is a sad excuse for a diner. We ordered a variety of meals; I ordered the moussaka figuring it would be good given it was a Greek owned diner. It was the worst moussaka I have ever had, obviously reheated and crusted over. I had to ask for the salad and bread that came after the meal. At 12.95, very expensive. The place was dirty with worn carpets. Not really sure why it seems popular, maybe it was good at one time. read more
