I had the Keto Breakfast with a side of toasted ciabatta and my friend had the Modern Egg sandwich on ciabatta. I've never been so satisfied eating healthy. It was so tasty and savory; the prosciutto and smoked salmon were fresh and we both had enough to save for later The service was great and a man who happened to be one of the owners, tended to us. This place is so quaint and feels wonderfully homey! We came here for a book club meeting and ended up having an amazing discussion with the staff about Broadway shows and books--they were so engaging and fun to chat with. I ordered the Dragon Tea, which was super refreshing, and the Some Like It Spicy avocado toast, which totally delighted my taste buds. The flavors were spot on! I have tried TWICE to walk in on a weekend with no luck. You need a reservation if you're coming on the weekend. This time I decided to come for breakfast, 8:30am on a Friday and it was easy with no wait. A small cozy coffee shop is a lovely experience. We step out of our comfort zone and really enjoyed the food and drinks. We loved the Hummus Na'an. Horrible service. We came here for a quick meal (or so we thought). They told us the wait was about 20-30 minutes, we accepted it and waited in the car. After about 25 minutes we came back, they said they still didnt have a table although we saw so many people come in and sit. We continued to wait. There was a table outside that had been free the entire tome so we just sat down to continue to wait. After about 10 minutes the person came and asked if we just wanted to sit there anyway, we said yes. After 10 minutes the waiter came to bring us water. It took him waiter another 20 minutes to come take our order. Then, another 30-40 minutes for the food to come, just for them for bring it without silverware. I had to walk in to go get the silverware. At this point we were so frustrated. The food was good and the only reason i'm giving it 3 stars, but we will not be going back to this location. I went on Sunday the 23rd of June as part of the Yelp team and wow it was packed with waits of 1 hour 1/2 for dining in or Take out, but it was all worth it. The service was top-notch, even with the rush and the number of people in the restaurant, but wow Geoffrey took my order with the biggest smile and attention was the best, took time to give me recommendations on what I could order, and so many people not being too nice to him never lost his smile and jolly attitude treated everyone with utmost respect. Marie in the Tea and coffee station, poor girl was getting the worst I wanted to jump and help her but again was always with a positive attitude and a smile that lit up the room. Rafael was one of a kind all over the place at every station helping out and making sure I got my drink order and food like it was supposed to I even changed my drink and he accommodated detail by detail. Kudos to the modern Rose Holly wood staff all of you are wonderful warriors I would have fainted in that situation LOL.... The food was delicious and every plate that came out looked fabulous and super yummy I took a few photos as they came out. I had the modern-day pizza - Warm and soft naan flatbread cooked with muenster and mozzarella cheeses, two fried eggs, pesto, tomato, basil, prosciutto di parma, and a balsamic glaze. Great place to get brunch along with coffee and teas. Come early and with patience on the weekend. There can be a long wait for table and food. At peak, it can be about 30-45 mins. There is also additional parking behind the building, and there is a rear entrance. There is a very wide selection of teas. They come hot and cold, but they do recommend some that are cold. I got the passion fruit mango tea. It tasted very good with just enough sweetness. I definitely recommended the cold teas during these hot summers. On the food side, I got the modern egg sandwich. It was very tasty. Both sides of the bread was toasted and seasoned. It was almost like a bruschetta sandwich. The egg cooker perfectly with just a little run. Would definitely get this again. I also had the almond chocolate bread. It came straight from the cooler. I would recommend getting it warmed up. The taste and texture was much richer when I let it warm up to room temperature. Came to modern rose on my last morning in South Florida. How did I manage so many years without knowing about Modern Rose. We tasted the avacado flight and the croissant with brie and blueberries. It was by far the best avacado toast I have had in South Florida. The version with the smoke salmon was delicious. The toast with the corn was yummy as well. While I can't believe it, the croissant stole the show. Our server was enthusiastic and we could tell he loved the food as well. This is a hidden gem of a brunch spot. You feel like you are sitting in a story book. Parking was easy to find, there are spots in front and located behind the Rose. When I walked in I was greeted by all the staff. It was a very warm and welcoming environment. It was packed when I got there. They told me I could seat where I wanted. The tables, chairs, and sofas are a creative set up. The menu is packed with a selection of amazing items, from avocado toast, sandwiches, salads, to sweet breakfast items. I ordered a matcha latte and the avocado toast with smoked salmon to go. The presentation of the food is gorgeous, and eating it was divine. My experience at The Modern Rose cafe was great, they truly earned their title of being one of the Best Cafes in Florida. Contrary to its name, The Modern Rose has a beautiful vintage aesthetic. I sat on this lovely and comfortable orange couch surrounded by vintage knick-knacks, furniture, and books. The decorum was delightful. I also really enjoyed the music definitely 80s-90s jam -- Uptown Girl by Elton John was the last song I enjoyed before leaving. The food was so yummy it's the best meal I've had from a cafe all year. At the recommendation of my awesome server Juancho aka Juan, I got the Tulum Sammie and Eva's Banana Chai Latte. I had no regrets! The meal had a really good portion size for its price. The sandwich was so filling I was only able to get through half of the one-half. The flavor profiles were way better than I initially presumed, it gave Mexican street food meets brunch. The combination of the Elote seasoned corn, Crema, and yolky eggs was complimented well by the creaminess of the avocado and the crunchy Tuscan toast. There's also pesto and tomato in the sandwich adding a bit of an Italian twist to it, to top it off you get the cheesy combo of Muenster and mozzarella cheese. Don't forget the delicious and spicy chili flake oil as a great additive, it enhances with a kick. The drink came in the cutest blue mug and in a 16 oz portion. Eva's Banana Chai was a wonderful blend of flavors with a crunchy finish of almonds. I love tea! Especially nontraditional flavors like rooibos. The almond foam and cinnamon topping was a new one for me and now I'm making it a staple in my drinks. (I normally do sweet cream foams or salted caramel foams). B-egg-con was heavier, but was like an open-faced breakfast sandwich packed with all the classics - egg, bacon, avocado, and the best of cheeses. The cutest atmosphere and the most friendly people. It's not officially open, but I know it will do well once it is. Located off of Hollywood Blvd in a strip plaza, it offers plenty of parking. It's spacious. I'd say it has more seating options than the other locations. The seating is all antique and floral and just beautiful. I went in on a Friday morning, and they were just opening and were more than accommodating to get me out on my way in a timely fashion. There's so many food and drink options to choose from and it was not an easy choice so I got what was recommended. I got the churro cold brew. I normally don't love cold brew, but this was delicious. The blueberry drink and lavender were my other choices, but everything sounds fantastic. I got an apple rose pastry and totally forgot to capture it because I just dug right in. I joined the waiting list at The Modern Rose via the Yelp app, and when I realized I was running late, I canceled and re-added myself to the list. The staff went out of their way to call and confirm, letting me know I wouldn't lose the table despite the delay--such a nice touch! Once we arrived, we were seated right away, though it took about 15 minutes for someone to come by with menus or offer water. However, once our server arrived, he was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. He explained the menu thoroughly and shared recommendations with us. Our specialty drinks--a lavender latte for me and an Aphrodi-TEA for my friend--arrived first and were absolutely delicious. The food came shortly after, which was faster than expected. The Modern Rose has a charming, vintage ambiance, though I feel some of the furniture could use an upgrade as a few pieces were quite stained, which didn't leave the best first impression (just my opinion). That being said, the service was impeccable from the moment we walked in. The host and our server were both incredibly sweet and attentive, especially considering we had two fussy, hungry babies with us. As for the food and coffee, it was average for us. I tried their off-menu French Toast with an Almond Joy latte, and my partner had the Modern Sandwich (which I actually enjoyed more) and a Strawberry Lemonade. We also started with a croissant and blueberries. While none of the food really stood out, the excellent service makes us open to giving the cafe another try. I am a big fan of Modern Rose. I've been to all 3 of their locations (Deerfield, Ft. Lauderdale & Hollywood). I first heard about them thru a Yelp Elite event over a year ago and have been raving about them since. The service is also amazing and the employees so nice. My favorite out of them is some like it spicy, 2nd favorite is the summer in venice. - Lotus Flower Bomb - while I love banana bread, I was skeptical to get this bc I do not like cookie butter and was worried the cookie butter would be overpowering. I was wrong. It's perfectly balanced, sweet w/o being too sweet, and the banana bread is so moist and delicious, and it's topped with bruleed bananas. It's served with two eggs. It's amazing. Get it. - Modern Egg sandwich - it's an egg and cheese sandwich. It's ok. - Tulum Sammie - sooooo good! It basically tastes like a mix of some like it spicy avocado toast and an egg sandwich. - Tuscan sammie- this sounded better than it actually was. It was ok. I wouldn't get again. The drinks I have tried are: - Creamy London - love this. Highly recommend if you like earl grey tea. Get it hot. - Caramel crème brûlée - love this. My favorite drink of theirs. The menu has so many signature drink options that I was overwhelmed (but in a good way) because I wanted to try them all! We ordered the avocado toast flight to share with two "some like it spicy" which is the elote one, one modern toast which is a basic avocado toast, and the venetian without prosciutto. In order of 0 to 100, the modern, the Venetian and some like it spicy. That elote flavorrrrr was amazing! I absolutely love elotes so the combination of both was so delicious! We also wanted something sweet so the waiter recommended the lotus flower bomb which is toasted banana coconut bread sliced spread with biscoff cookie butter and topped with bruleed bananas. It also comes with eggs but we opted out of that and asked if they can add strawberries to the order. Absolutely 100/10!!! The flavor was the right amount of perfect! Yet another pleasant Modern Rose experience! I had tried one location prior near Deerfield but had not tried this location in Hollywood nor the one in FTL and it's been on my brunch list for a while. I was so satisfied with both the food and ambience. Interesting to know that this location has table service whereas the Deerfield location I had been to prior did not - a more order at the counter experience. Josh was our server this Wednesday morning and he was great. He helped my guest and I figure out which entree we would like to try. I was so happy with the Tulum Sammie as it was both a flavorful and a good portion - well worth the menu price of $15 unlike some other brunch places that serve a kids-meal portion for similar price. My wife and I had brunch at this place since it's been a hot commodity and wanted to try this out. We got there around 10 and it was a 45 minute wait. As we waited, I noticed that the decor was vintage, a touch of modernism, and chic. When we got seated, they placed us on a table with other people and that to me is a complete turn off. When I looked in there about section, nowhere, does it say that you would be sitting or share tables with parties you don't even know. I'm not sure if it is part of their layout but when I come in with a friend or with my wife, I plan on having conversation with my wife and nobody need to hear what we discuss. We had asked for another table and had to wait a couple more minutes and then we finally got seated at a small triangular table. As nice as it was, the geometry of triangle with circular plates will not go together. The host saw that and immediately bought us a little table to sit another one of our dishes, and I wasn't really feeling that. That was meant for just one person, not two people. I ordered the Fitbit and my wife ordered the Princess Diana greens and a berries sweet treat. We waited over an hour for our food and people that got seated after us were getting their food first. I had to ask the server where my wife's food was as she just ordered a salad and a dessert . Now we've been to Costa Rica, and we've understood that they take time to bring out, but the longest time was about 20 minutes. My wife and I have been customer service so we know that kitchen and how many people are working the kitchen will tell you how fast food comes out and that kitchen is very small, which doesn't help time. The customers near us were also complaining that they had to wait so long for their food as well. When are food finally arrived, my wife was burnt so she ate like one slice of it and ate her greens. My omelette was subpar. It wasn't a wow factor. I will say that their drinks were amazing. I had the Barack legend and my wife had the creamy London. Both of them were spectacular. I was expecting more from this establishment as service was good, the ambience was nice but the wait time and the food time just did not match what I expected for my palate. The only reason I would return is for the drinks, but after that, I don't think I would want to wait 45 minutes just for that. This place can be good for a group of people, a date if you want to bring your furry friend there are tables outside; but I do recommend that you have a lot of patience if you're trying to go on a Sunday. Brought a friend with me who is vegan and we're happy to see all of the vegan options on the menu. Everything was reasonably priced too. Definitely will be returning . Thank you Mia for this amazing event. This one of my favorite brunch spots. It does get pretty busy on the weekend and there is a wait time but the staff are so attentive and helpful. This place is so cute for a girl's brunch, it feels like tea party. I highly recommend this place. Everything so super delicious and it taste so fresh and healthy. The coffees and teas are so yummy and have so many options to choose from. read more
