This place is predatory!!!!! They purposely separated my spouse and I, got me alone and gave me a lap dance I didn't ask for. In fact, I said no thank you and it still kept happening! Then they wanted to charge me almost $400 bucks. When I tried to dispute it they were in an uproar. I finally told the girl-"if I wanted a dance it would not be from you. You're not even my type." I had semi-agreed to a dance from a different girl earlier and I paid my $20 in cash...why would I not pay for something if I rightfully asked for it? I did not ask for it, it was AGAINST MY CONSENT. I am shaking just reliving it In my head. PREDATORS!!!! Totally disrespectful and grimy. I paid for lap dances for my bf and his friend. The girl who gave my boyfriend a lap dance goes by "Eve". I had spotted her walking around and because she's the most beautiful, I asked a manager how to go about requesting someone in particular and after a description he called her on the radio. I didn't watch the lap dances because I wouldn't have been able to refrain from laughing but the girls I saw on stage were like erotic acrobats who somehow managed to keep it classy. This is one of the skeeviest strip clubs in New York. I don't think the couches are actually patched with duct tape, but it feels like the type of place where they would be. The best part is that it's skeezy trying to pass as "classy", and that equals "hilariously awesome". If you like seeing boobs under a blacklight shaking to Guns N Roses, while you sip corny mixed drinks, look no further. In New York, it's all about fitting more into less space. Being no stranger to strip clubs, but not being a person who frequents them, I didn't expect to get much out of this establishment. Normally, I see strip clubs as the "ha ha let's all go throw dollars at naked ladies" norm that revolves around my Bay Area group of friends. New York Dolls has given me a new appreciation for stripping. Generally if I go to a strip club, it's in a large anonymous group. No such things can exist here because the space is so small. But small isn't the right word. Intimate is actually appropriate. Granted, the ladies are sweet talking you because that's their job. They're good enough to keep your eyes off the stage and on them, and there's easily enough girl for any interested guy. Normally I'm not an interested guy. Normally. Perhaps my Seinfeld physique draws the girls to me in this city. I only wish I had the same money, Lord knows strippers don't generally gravitate towards me. But the something about the girls at Dolls let's me drop my guard and feel willing to drop a few 20s on lap dances, something I'd normall have no interest in.I know there's nothing more than a little physical satisfaction. Even though this place is located in an easily accessible area, it is best to stat\y away from this place. The dancers who work here have no manners at all. They are also very unattractive. Management should do a better job of hiring and training these women to treat customers like a human being instead of an atm machine. The venue itself is really small. In Manhattan you can go to the very high end "Gentleman's Club" or the very low end "hole in the wall". New York Dolls is definitely more in the middle, closer to the hole in the wall side. The place is small and needs a makeover. I even had a whole discussion with one of the dancers, she is studying interior design, on how she would make some simple changes to make the place better. The larger space they had in midtown closed and so the placed seemed to be very aggressive we spent $18 for a drink and were cramped into a small space at a table. My husband goes here sometimes for a drink with friends after work. I don't care. He's taken me and I totally get it. Bar in the front, Naked Girls, Sports on TV, and Lapdances in the back. The best 'Gentleman's Club' in the city. I've been to quite a few strip clubs in my day and this one is the best mainly because it is not a big space. When you go to a strip club that is large and there are more people there, the dancers will gloss over you and move on to next schmoe who is trying to forget how shitty his job is. I like the added attention. I remember one time I showed up the day after Christmas, I was the only guy there. I felt like the only slot machine paying out. I spread out my money and talked to some of the girls I knew there so I wouldn't be broke in ten minutes. To get the most out of this place, you're better off with the afternoon shift (12pm-8pm). I've always found this shift to have the friendliest girls. After 8, the ruskies come in and are predictably rude. 'Would you like dance?' 'No, not right now thanks' (then they leave in a huff). Another thing the Ruskies like to do is keep dancing and then slap you with a 40-60 dollar dance when you didn't ask for it. Keep track when a song ends. These girls are trying to cover their 'house fees' (every dancer pays the club to dance there). This is the kind of place you don't mind stopping by once in awhile (as you long as you have some money). It's very easy to get comfortable. If a dancer is too heavy, the club will tell her to lose weight. I've seen dancers shed off the pounds in order to keep dancing there. So, most of the dancers are in good shape. I haven't been there for awhile, but I have some good memories. Especially girls going the extra mile in the V.I.P. room. This would have been a five-star review, but I never found the night shift that friendly and it's hard to get a good lap dance when the place is crowded as you are practically rubbing elbows with another customer. read more

I have to admit that the girls (which is the only attraction I care for in a strip club) have improved at NY Dolls, I've been coming to this place for a few years now and recently the talent has gotten better. They have a diverse group of girls, Latina heavily represented, but a respectable % of black, Asian and even a few MILF's. It is not Eastern European dominated. The place's set up is to be desired, however the ratio of patrons to girls is very decent and the girls aren't overly pushy. This is NYC, nothing is cheap unless you are on the government dole, so be prepared to come with 20's if you want a good time, a lot of them. Of course, when they hit it right, they can knock down $3200+/night, but that's not every night, it doesn't always happen, and they do have to deal with more than their fair share of dissembling fatheads, all-around jerks, general purpose dunces and common garden variety creeps. I had been to Dolls before, but my friend from Chicago came to town and we needed to show him around NYC. Also our friend from Boston came to town to meet up with all of us. Our friend from Boston we'll call, "Dabes" and our friend from Chicago we'll call, "Ditchie." We decided that Ditchie needed to see some female parts when he was in NYC. He had been to NYC before, but had never experienced any of the gentlemen's clubs in the area. None of us are real connoisseurs of gentlemen's clubs so experience is not something any of us have at these types of establishments. Well let's just say we all had a great time. The ladies were all beautiful and they all seemed to be happy to be there. (Except for one. She looked sad and like one of our friends, but she wasn't our friend and she might have had a bad day. I won't hold it against her.) I even gave on a lapdance. She asked. I had to. She enjoyed it. I'm not the best lapdancer, in fact it was my first, but it was fun. Ditchie was on the prowl the whole night. He waited for the perfect opportunity to tip the most skilled of the pole dancers. One of Ditchie's greatest moments was when he summoned one of the nice young ladies to properly entertain him. She even gave him a treat. Similar to a lollipop, but more in the realm of the breast area. Dabes also had a blast. He was a bit shy at first, but he soon learned about what Dolls had to offer. He then became a bit more comfortable and you could tell he was enjoying himself. To recap: The girls were all very pretty and real. The beers were expensive, but manageable for the type and location of the establishment. My only quip is the price of the champagne room. $500/hour.
