The movers were prompted. They came and moved everything to my new place. Since things weren't put together at the timeframe that was given, I ended up paying for over time. When they were leaving, they asked me if I wouldn't mind writing a review on Yelp , I told I would do that later. One of them said, the company prefers that customers do it before they leave the job. I did find it strange, but I did it and gave them a nice review. After they left, I went to fix the beds and found damages on all 3 beds they'd put together. That's when I realized why they wanted me to do the survey before they left; as they knew I wouldn't find out about whatever damage they'd done till after they left. I called and emailed the company. They said, I didn't have insurance on the move. First, Vanessa who was the one who booked my move never mentioned anything about getting insured and second, why did I need insurance when they already assured me safe move of my furnitures. When I contacted them, they forwarded me to their claim department, who said the would reimburse $1 per pound and will send the amount owed to me via email; which to me was ridiculous. I waited and emailed and almost a year later nothing. No one is emailing back. Also, before confirming my move with Flat Fee Moving, I had come across a bad review and I mentioned it to Vanessa. She said it was from an unhappy customer who wanted them to move her with very little money and decided to give them a bad review, for me not to worry about that. Well little did I know read more

Overall the move went pretty well. I have no complaints about the Laura who was the foreman. The movers did work hard and did a good job moving. At first we were happy with their service. But towards the end of the move the guys said they were hungry. So I volunteered to go get them some food. They finished the move and all was well at that point. But a few days later (we have a big property) I noticed that instead of taking their garbage with them, they left wrappers and containers all over the yard by our mailbox. It wasn't even just in one bag on the ground. That would have been bad enough. But it looked like they spread their trash over the front yard. I thought that was so disrespectful that I would never hire these guys again. It's a shame I have to write this. Because I thought the did a good job otherwise. Only other complaint is that they took most of an hour to eat. And then charged us an extra hour to assemble our bed. I wouldn't even mention that probably had I not been disrespected. But leaving your trash all over our new place was very rude and not a good thing to do to the people that hired you. read more

In short they stole my money! They quoted me $780 for 3 hrs. The appointment was at 4 PM we finished before 7:44 PM. The had me sign a bunch of paperwork before we started. All lines were blank, they filled them out later when we were moving stuff. They wrote "start at 3 PM, finish at 9 something PM" and gave me a copy that I put in my pocket right away (because we were busy moving stuff and didn't think anything of it). There was nothing to sign at the end of moving. I left a few minutes after we finished. I saw their vehicle leave their parking spot and make a turn. I checked my credit card a few days later, I charged me over $1400! I called them they said it took 6 hrs to complete the job. I said no it was from 4 to 7:44. Then they looked into it, they confirmed that the appointment was at 4 PM, but their vehicle left at 8:11 PM (they had a tracker in the vehicle). So, Danny refunded me about $198 after taking out a bunch of additional fees. According to their tracker they actually stayed (in the area?) until 8:11 and charged me according to their tracker, which is 4 hrs and a half (they charge an increment of half an hr after the first 3 hrs) . Thank God they didn't decide to stay until midnight or morning! They charged me half an hour extra, that's almost $100. Writing reviews is a waste of time, the time that I don't really have, but I just got robbed so I have to share my experience with Flat Fee Moving. read more

I had a two bedroom in NY and I relocated to Atlanta last week (June 27, 2013). My items were picked up without accident or incident. The movers were very courteous, moved quickly and answered any questions that I had. The reasonable quote that was given to me was exactly what I paid (the balance of) yesterday when my items were delivered to my new place in Atlanta. NO EXTRA CHARGES, FEES, ETC. I was very nervous about using a moving company but Flat Fee Moving over-delivered on what they promised. I have all of my items, nothing was broken or misplaced and I rec'd my things in a timely fashion. These guys are great. They drop off boxes ahead of your move. I recommend you pack your stuff. Inventory / list your furniture to be moved. It's a hassle on their form but it's well worth it. Then they just come and move on the day of the move. This process will save you money. And it will make them very effective as their crew is great at loading their truck up and dropping off the big items. Their guys will singly pick up and move stuff that goes beyond the call of duty. Give them plenty to drink and then feed them and tip them in cash. You'll get a great move done at a fair price. read more

If I could give them a ZERO star I would. This company lie, cheat and steal! BE ware of their tactics on bait and switch. Here is my story: Back in February I contacted Flat Fee Moving to do a tentative home move from Wappingers Falls NY to Lebanon PA for the end of June by email, I asked for a quote that it seemed fair at the time in comparisons to other moving companies that we looked. They send me an email to give my information and credit card number to be charged $100. to "Lock Down" the quote they send me, my wife talked to a Rep and explained that it was all tentative for the end Of June, they assure her that if we change our minds we could get our money back. Well we got an email saying that they where ready for the move in May, I called them up and explained to them that we where not planning to move this year and to please refund our money back. Now they are refusing to refund our money that they had a no refund policy. In there website it does say about cancelation terms but within a 5 day period before or within the moving day, a day that still is far off from the end of June. Second there is no signature of documents or contracts between us with the Flat Fee Moving company so in legality they have no rights to withhold the funds. I had to open a case with the BBB, the moment I open the case and BBB contacted the Moving company the phone calls started coming in saying that we where wrong that we said to move in May (Even though our lease was not up until the of June so again we couldn't have established to move in May) but never the less they were telling us over the fun that they had refunded the money on that they and that we jumped the gun in contacting the BBB, but all previous conversation before us contacting the BBB where al about Zero money back and that there was nothing they couldn't do being that they had policies stating that there was a partial to no refund. This people had the edacity to lie to the BBB stating Please dismiss this complaint as the refund was done prior to customer submitting BBB complaint. He can call his CC company to verify that. Customer threaten us with this complaint and putting bad reviews as well. (see attached documentation) {hat I had to so I could get my money back} We NEVER {We did talk on the 14 of May stating that we where not moving on May} spoke to Mr Marcos. our sales rep Daniel spoke to his wife {She never stated to move in May and the it was all tentative for June} back on 02.21.15 and his wife schedule the move for 05.17 not in June. We had a crew already set for the move by 05.14.15. We did emailed the confirmation {One email on May doesn't constituted as multiple emails} several times for 05.17.15 and that was the reason we were calling to confirm. attached is emails communication from back in Feb 19 when the deposit was requested and the order for services that the customer replied to when is clearly says Sunday, 05/17/2015 When Daniel made a reservation with his wife, she told us that in case they would need to change the move date to June they will call but we never received any phone call. Only once we contacted them to confirm the move we were told that they are not moving at all. No phone call or email was received in our office prior to us reaching out to you. PLEASE SEE DOCUMENTION AND DISSMISS THIS COMPLAINT AS REFUND WAS DONE BEFORE THIS COMPLAINT. Again refund was done after the facts, one I had to get tuff on them to get my money back, second, had to get BBB involved to get my deposit and to top it all they lie to cover their mistake. Worst movers EVER!!! Their movers broke my window in my new house. Did not apologize. Did not clean it up. And refuse to pay for it!!! My handy man who I trust repaired my window in the winter for $200. They refused to pay!!!!! You break it you pay for it!! If a mover damages property they pay for it!!! They apparently like to whine that the people who review them poorly treat them like slaves. That's their theme. They are unprofessional.
